Limerick: Once a Baron Born Near Basingstoke

Limerick: Once a Baron born near Basingstoke

Once a Baron born near Basingstoke
Dreaded being made (the) butt of a joke
Yet he built his castle
Shaped as a sharp whistle
Winds coursed through laughing like Marma-Duke.

I Forgive Me

So much guilt.
So many acts that shamed,
making me feel worthless.
Empty, but for Hope.
Yet, what use be this hope
if I had not learned to forgive me?
Crying increasingly
‘cause pain, coursed through me.

Here, in this moment
I forgive me.

Time Respires

Gasping ...

The year drew in

Months, weeks and days, anew -

Filled its lungs with the breaths of life,

Hope, promise and endeavor coursed its veins,

Feeding want, deed and wisdom, now ...

It exhales lost shadows,

Weeps and expires ...

Gasping.

River Lessons

Lessons mark river’s diverse edge
where mind and body search as fed.
Twilight wiggles dreams in shore's mud,
lullabies glisten night above -
River floats yearnings in coursed mystery,
easily, on fickle-dark, tossed water.

The Fire Dragons

They coursed their thoughts
Pretending they were dragons
Smoking like they were nothing else

They had just graduated
In the art of smoking a cigarette
Without even hurting it

Nobody could deny the hypocrisy
Nor the ugly face of mediocrity:
Were they students of Socrates
They would know the realities.

Coursed In Stone

You have money in the bank,
  but you’ll never be rich

With the power to buy and sell
  though yourself disowned

Those things today and then tomorrow,
their weight crushes in upon you

A legacy doomed as rock by rock
  —your future coursed in stone

Alittle Help

It coursed through my veins,

It wiped all the hurt away,

It erased my thoughts and feelings

Of you and everything having to do with you

Sure, it burned my throat, burned a trail down my throat

Deepened the hole in my heart and made the room spin

But it helped, more than you and every other person who’s ever

Hurt me has.

Heart Depths

surf your love with feels sincere
that love's lifts do life adhere

let love's true joy ebb and flow
in wave depths the heart may stow

sincere feels in all surged forms
adhere love storms to coursed norms

flow love as pooled weak or brave
stow heart depths to surf love's waves

White Horse Hill

Before the Roman legions carved a road
This stallion coursed across the chalk ridge brow
Unharnessed, free or by a king bestrode
Like wave traversing grassland free of plough
It still pursues its quest yet even now

Note: This is the oldest of the many white horses carved into chalk hillsides across southern England. It has been dated to The Bronze or Iron ages. (Pre-Roman occupation)

Destruction From Fallen Meaning

As a carcass peeled from the sidewalk
As witness reeled with revelry talk
When the sun poached its glaze
Children free of heart catwalked

I was lost in sage
Murmur of beaten brow
Through the forecepts of saturated clock
Held back with hidden penetration

Red lips coursed a wet expectation
But time had guided a listless burrow
Time in destruction from fallen meaning
Where spirits kept corridors veiled

Predestined - Divine

I spoke her thoughts -- she spoke mine
Our meeting sure predestined, Divine ...
Nestling her hand in mine, rainbows arched on high
~ in the Heaven of our hearts, as angels sighed

In synchrony the magic flowed, an endless carousel
moments and ideas shared, visions coursed through us pell-mell
~ Our hearts launched skyward, as in deepest love we fell ...

A Tear In the Sand

There on the sands of time , he poured his heart out . Watched as it blew with the wind, to mix with the other grains. A tear coursed down his cheek, to land upon the parched sand. His head he dropped in sorrow, to see a flower where the tear had landed. There in the stark barren landscape , a tiny bit of color bloomed. warming his heart, more than the sun ever could.

Lost Wind

Love Adored
 Love Yearned for
 love, a brother's in return

 A past so magnificent
 the stars cant compare.
 Glittering moments fills my thinking.
 a past i just knew i had

A future so bleak i wish id never wear.
colorless robes i envision, yearning for warmth

 Alas i stand,
like a flowing river moving so far from the banks
 coursed to a void

 A past i just knew i had,
 a future so bleak.
 love! a brother's in return.

In the Fragility of Dreams

We walked through fields of lavender
Hand in hand we went,
How golden was the sunlight
The air, suffused with scent.

We talked, we laughed, we cried
I felt your tender kiss,
Elation coursed through my veins
I lost myself to bliss.

I took you in my arms
Such loving words we spoke,
I cursed the fragility of dreams
I wished I'd never woke.

Revenant

Dank darkness was always settled around. It was all I knew of the near universe. Stale, stifling, suffocating in my broken and spilt trundle leaving bitter, morbidly clammy earth enshrouding my body and being. A crack in the soil, or in time perhaps. Slivers of light split the filthy floor, crawled over ornate catafalque, and continued its approach, like winter's blinding ice, to my exposed bones. Warming flesh grew and coursed with new - life blood.
