Kent Poole, born December 1963, played Merle Webb #12 in the famous basketball movies "Hoosiers" in 1986 with actor, Gene Hackman, and actress Barbara Hershey. After a messy breakup, his wife took their three kids that left him in a state of depression. He committed suicide by hanging on September 2003, at the age of 39. Fellow actor, Brad Long who played Buddy Walker #14, had a son who wrote about depression refrencing Kent's struggle that he had titled after his famous line in the movie, "Let's Win for the Little Towns."
