Time Respires

Gasping ...

The year drew in

Months, weeks and days, anew -

Filled its lungs with the breaths of life,

Hope, promise and endeavor coursed its veins,

Feeding want, deed and wisdom, now ...

It exhales lost shadows,

Weeps and expires ...

Gasping.
