Give Up the Ghost

There is a COVID-19 ghost
Who flits around from coast-to-coast
He loves to zoom
Around a room
To see whom he infects the most

Its Coming

As night descends from coast to coast
A spooky ghost is prone to boast:
"Choose COVID-19
To make Halloween
A kick right between the goal post!"
Form: Limerick

Spike Hike

It seems that no one will hire us
Whilst Trump and Pence spread the virus
From coast to coast
They love to boast
There is no way you can fire us!

Cinnamon Toast the Most

Cinnamon Toast The Most

We always did like cinnamon toast;
Would boast about and prefer most;
Made hasty;
Very tasty;
Known world wide and coast to coast.

Sour Grape and Sad Shape

Sour Grape and Sad Shape

As usual are using things as an escape;
Could call this a Republican sour grape;
Coast to coast,
Brag and boast;
Sure seems to be in such a sad shape.

Fortitudes Ardour

Could you blame the American dream
Plastic coast to coast
A Harlequin pawns himself
Enterprise gone mad
Ply the rebop
The spirit of 1973
Corporate Lawyer loathed to tell the truth
A confident already foretold
Fortitudes' ardour
doomed to quieten itself

The Girl I Love Most

The girl I need most
There is no one like her from coast to coast

The girl I love most
Has broken my heart like a crispy toast

The girl I want most
Has possessed me like a pitiless ghost

The girl I care most
Does not keep me in her heart as my host

In your image we are made.

Premium Member How Now Brown Cow

I think the thing I think of most

Is blood rare roast on buttered toast

I smile awhile mile after mile

I boast I eat it coast to coast

But now the thing I think of now

Is how I think I'm eating cow

Wary my diet should vary

Now I think I should eat more sow

Not Ours To Hold

Not ours to hold with feeble hands,
Not in our hands to boast,
He knows when it takes off and lands,
Same One stands coast to coast.

He calls when he chooses,
We fall like dead roses,
No more in life's tosses.

Books have this told,
Not ours to hold.

Anthem

let freedom ring in every thought
for love of country and what it costs
waving strong, red, white and blue
in every heart, the colors wave true

bring me your tired, your hungry, your meek
every immigrant who asylum seeks
from coast to coast this anthem sings
in every heart let freedom ring

NEW YEAR

a clear slate with chalk
don’t bollix up the board
with mathematical equations

let it snow from erasers
applauding forgiveness

let your words wander
from coast to coast
covering the pristine green

let arm circles soak up
all       the carbonized words
and begin again

with resolution

Premium Member Shared Ego - Year 2030

Written by Gail DeBole on September 12, 2013

There once were siamese-like twins
Who didn't share organs or limbs.
An ego was shared
Thoughts moving through air
Between sisters Donna and Kim.

With an ego bigger than most
The twins did nothing but boast
of trophies and wins
And spectacular whims.
The sisters were known coast-to-coast.

Lose To Win

Losing, not always the opposite of winning;

        many times it may even be a requirement

                for sweet triumph to be genuinely fulfilling.

                The awesome odds may range and rage from coast to coast;

        the darkest skies will soon be clear, just persevere;

for now you lose the few, but soon you'll win the most.

Away In a Rv

Away in an RV
No roadmap to see,
A new adventure,
Awaits you and me.

A fancy home on wheels,
Drinks and snacks packed,
Firewood and marshmallows,
On the road at last.

National parks to explore
Campfire stories told
Getting together,
Memories unfold.

A bucket list voyage,
Coast to coast we go,
Not a care in the world,
Where we stop, nobody knows.

''Drifter''

I have no stable home,for this I roam.
I travel light,only walk when the sun is bright.
Coast to coast my spirits high,other transportation I never try.
People stop and they go.
The path I take where I end I never know.
Not bad,nor sad,just glad I'm hanging on to a world unknown.
For this I roam.

Traveller

Traveller I was
Long before last time;
Once again I become
A traveller!
A traveller I am
Sailing in search
Of my second-half
Across oceans and seas
From coast to coast
Along cold dawn
Beneath scorching sun
At noon,
And the warm evening.
I have travelled
With blanket of sorrow,
Jacket of joy
Enshrined in my heart's
Pouch,
Like a hunch back.
Only in search
Of my beloved!
