Concrete canyons,
Buzzing crowds, lights ablaze,
Heart's relentless and vibrant pulse,

city
finds busy
wheels rotate on roads.
deals stir like ripples in minds.
since centuries, life rolls on with progression.
He saw a flower once,
Dandelion – he thinks,
growing in a city sidewalk
near a rock strewn park.

Huddled Masses
on a bus
the closeness of fear
traces life’s boundaries.

a one-legged pigeon
hopping tiles in the depot
freezes where shadows remain
doesn't need our pity—
working twice as hard for less
—most commuters know that score
My special aunt loved
life in the open country-
city bus made runs to town.
I loved to visit
we would cook, laugh and dress up-
then take city bus to town.
Pigeons scour from high
Ailanthus strives with concrete
to blend greenery with stone
Streetlights announce dusk
as critters stalk ripe dumpsters
under a moonless night cloak
concrete jungle trails
lure predators on the prowl ---
posh picturesque parks
proven hunting grounds
only fools frequent nature ---
green leafy trees shade secrets
Cocktails and dinners
neon lights and enchantment
concrete buildings and glass fronts
The solitude screams
sad urban development
pockets of synthetic grass
city never sleeps.
light neither blinks nor sound stills.
offers many motley scenes.
streets are littered with,
scraps of men scattered around.
lonely souls in bustling crowd.
Edgy human relations
Waiting for a vacation
Vanishing home recipies
Legally going bankrupt
Stepping on each other's shoes
Growing lifestyle health issues
Addictive net connections

The lights in the city at night are warm and inviting
Harboring seasonal influence through the core of its being
They swarm with a great brilliance of an orange and red glow

Chasing the Goodlife
Traveling far in packed trains
Wonder why I can’t see sky
Narrow lanes, pigsty
Close my eyes to begging kids
Needy, feeling within me.

City life had stripped me bare
Feeling lost and lonely with no care
The wall of discontent blocked my path
Why did I not see it coming from the start?

Yearlong, we have waited,
yearning for vacation,
yet like nomads we dwell,
yon from city life, spritzed
yellow frisking through firs,
yielding to swift trail bends,
young, sleeping in bunkbeds.

How I'll miss city life,
hail taxis day or night,
hazardously they drive,
hope I arrive alive,
hear all the traffic noise,
horns tooting full of scorn,
harsh looks are all around,
hang on your country bound.

Too many people
Too many buildings
Not enough grass
Not enough space
To get away from
Everyone if needed
I mean look at how far
You gotta go just to
Touch fields of grass
Makati is a beautiful place
Cities just aren’t for me.
City Life
Alley avenues
Bustle in hues of twilight
Music flees through open doors
City rhythms rhyme
Tapping toes - hypnotic beats -
I dance down the sidewalk streets.

Steel canyons hum with electric breath,
Where neon veins pulse against the night,
And iron shadows dance in golden light.
A thousand paths converge in restless stretch,
Lost within the symphony of the street,
The rhythm of a million hearts beat.
Populous grand malls
Clamor of vying hawkers
Metros, flyovers, clubs and parks
Quickened life style and
Sophisticated culture
Fascinate the dream city.

"VENTURE"
the world says a
man must love a
woman.
that he must love
her more than himself.
that he must be
everything she has
ever sought after.
the world has been
dying since it's creation.
thank the gods,
I am single.

The others gather in the kitchen
between verses
The cabin in the nature center
shuns city life.
A hummingbird hovers at the window
fluttering my imagination.
I keep secret our conversation
while others make lunch.
I turn to nature, my muse,
when shaping poems.
City Life busy -
All are running wildly from
morning till night to earn more
~~~~~~~
In this whole process
family, health is neglected
Is this right way of living?
