A Galaxy For Chris

Chicago’s pall, leave behind.
Evanston’s smog,
still, a hope. Lone telescope –

through the fog, Faint light find,
			Andromeda’s call.

For Comrade Chris Hani
(1942 – 1993)

mowed down
by hot lead
your blood flowed
into our African soil
murdered you, yes, they did
silence you, they never will
for your voice
your spirit
speaks to us still

Premium Member Homage to Chris

My friend from Trinidad
has swagger like no other

Grew up drenched in music's rhythm
surrounded by storytelling musicians
who'd belt out proud social messages

To this day he lives and breathes music
Transports him to that soulful party place

Missing Chris

Missing Chris

My little dog hides in high grass;
Her blackness crawls between iris stalks,
I spend my time spotting her,
That she not find her way away.

The fence is chain link, covered with ivy,
She hides even there, I worry.
Maxie is my friend, she comforts me.
Love to all, good night.

Premium Member Chris and Alice

My name is Chris,
Her name is Alice,
We’re cocooned in
A plantastic palace,
While balanced on
The woodlands eaves,
We banquet on
What others leaves.

We’re pillers of
Socie-eat-he
We pay our debts
And dine for free,
But our sights are set
Up in the sky,
For we’ve been promised
One day we’ll fly!

In Memoriam: Chris Kyle

His bravery inspired
  a hero defiled

By one of his own
  whose spirit disowned

All memory attacks
  what never came back

   ‘from a war beyond
    winning or losing’

The best of the best
  too early to rest

His brothers in arms
  —his first choosing

Premium Member Chris Columbus

Signore Christopher Columbus came up with a wacky notion!

He claimed he could reach India by sailing west across the Atlantic Ocean!

"Just think of all them spices and gold! We ain't got nothin' to lose!"

Queen Isabella thought him nuts but reluctantly funded the cruise!

Parody To Chris Brown's Song Dont Judge Me

Why you wanna go there ?
I don’t wanna go there,
I guess I gotta go there,
you asked me out on a date,
then we go to a place that I hate,
you said the place would be nice,
but all I get is a sweet tea no ice,
not even a parfait with granola,
 tal vez él habla española?
So please don’t ask me,
and I wont ask you,
because if you wanna date again,
then you better let me supersize

A deejay called Chris

A wee witty ditty about Chris (the Hawk) on BBC 6 Music - as they celebrate World Poetry week

“There is a deejay called Chris

Who loves to play.. go on the pi*s (or take the p*ss)

Getting squiffy he won’t miss

Who went from spiffy quiffy bliss

To an iffy monk haircut abyss

Be remiss not to hiss at this

But still gets the gong & a kiss

Names in song we’ll never ever miss”

Premium Member Derma-Chris Crinkled

How I long for days of yore,
Young at heart with open door.

Wishful, bashful, silly grin;
Wearing smooth and silky skin.

Now the years have passed me by,
My wrinkled face makes me sigh.

Cream it, stretch it, make it tight;
Purely for reflective sight.

Thinking of those times to come,
When then I can't remember some.

And even though a dermal sin,
I'll pray for crinkled skin again.
