Chris Columbus

Signore Christopher Columbus came up with a wacky notion!

   He claimed he could reach India by sailing west across the Atlantic Ocean!

"Just think of all them spices and gold!  We ain't got nothin' to lose!"

   Queen Isabella thought him nuts but reluctantly funded the cruise!

Personally, I wonder if Isabella funded his trip hoping he wouldn't return. :) You have some great clerihews, Bob.
