Carson is really a cool
Only if you think like a fool
He is kinda smart
But does he like to fart
Overall he's really a drool...

Cute as can be
Always intelligent
Ready to learn
Strong in spirit and brawn
Only son
Needs to express himself

No Objection
No Objection

From his mind he needed protection
And no one had an objection
Picture of Carson we saw
That really grabbed my craw
Was with Jesus' at His resurrection.

Contrast Comparisons
Comedic contortionist claims clubfeet;
consider carefully, circus clowns cheat.
Chico chipped Carson City's carved concrete
clumsily chiseling cheap cardboard containers.
Charlatans can calm capitol complainers
confounding Congressional campaigners.

The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter
...for Carson McCullers

Terse language scored to the bone
with naught leftover,
truth suffusing every word
without a shred of platitude.

She faced her ghosts with fortitude,
hope and loss a perfect blending.
Straight to the point she spoke her mind,
no careless gesture or equivocation....

Fully Booked Part 2
In sentient shades of silence
The heart endures from tyrants
Love lives lachrymosely long
My heart shows its prong.

The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter
...for Carson McCullers

Terse language
scored to the bone
with no leftovers;
pouring sorrow into
every crucial word
without a shred of platitude.

She faced her ghosts
with grace and fortitude,
placing hope and loss
in perfect symmetry,
embracing solitude.

Straight to the heart
she spoke the truth,
with no equivocation
or careless gesture....

Mark Twain's Retort of Sort
At odds about the undertakers fees, Mark Twain jeered:
“There is a system of extortion going on here!”
What horrific prices to pay for just a box and hole
When it's not the body we care about, but the soul!

This clerihew is derrived from reading Mark Twains views on burying the dead. His only quotation is the second line. ( Mark Twain and the Carson City Undertaker) - February 1864

Here's Johnny!
(Dedicated to Johnny carson who died January 23, 2005.)

He was a great asset to NBC.
Everybody was sorry when he retired, including me.
I used to watch him years ago.
Everybody loved watching Johnny on the Tonight Show.
I have fond memories of Carson and I'm sure that most everyone does.
Leno is good but he's not as good as Johnny was.
Carson was very talented, that can't be denied.
An entire nation mourned when he died....

Loser Cries
Could you,Carson, imagine
That Ross gave me a margin,
Gap between us enlarging
With smiles into halls barging...
His words of encouragement
Ones streaked with disparagement,
As they show off management
And preach stricter engagement...

How should I really have felt:
By a pal beaten or belt?
Ross has his wins made 'A must'
And V tattooed on his bust,
Meaning,of course,I may rust
While after victory lust...

My shameful losses annual,
Has Ross been using manual?...
