seven dwarfs getting a breather,
no more butler days,

Tapping
In a Poe abode was a butler named Gore.
His assignment was to tend the door.
But he made one error,
His breath was a terror.
Causing callers to exclaim "Nevermore!"...

Serve yourself cat, the grouchy butler said.
Thom was angry now, wishing the old guy was dead.
I have to make my own sandwich? Cut my own bread?
Only if you feel like you’d like to get fed....

There were once some giraffes asked to tea
They politely accepted with glee.
The butler remarked, ”Aren’t YOU tall!”
For you, our chairs are too small.
So they drank tea from outside — quite hap’ly...

Ugh . . . Poo
I once had a butler so dapper
He had but a slight stutter
On the grounds we once walked
To find treasure of sorts
Wh.. wh.. he stuttered
I know I countered
Then why'd you step on it
He questioned...

Butler's Treat Time

Butler, as Mike, with bruises and aches,
Said, "Conspiracies, for goodness sakes!"
He'd fight and he'd flee,
"Just leave me be!"
"And bring me some medicinal cakes!"

Scarlett's Lament

Fiddlede-diddlede
Scarlett O'Hara, she
slew all the fellas--not
lifting a hand
'Cepting Rhett Butler proved
Incomprehensible
with, "Frankly, my dear, I

Shelton's Vengeance and His Lawyer's Sanity

Butler, as Clyde, with plans quite insane,
Said, "Justice? I'll cause you some pain!"
He'd plot and he'd scheme,
A vengeful extreme,
Then, "My lawyer? He's driving me sane!"

M’lud swung on the chandelier but then the roof caved in
The rubble all but buried him and came up to his chin
He said, ‘Can we abstain tonight?’ and flashed a noble grin
M’Lady said, ‘You get some rest… I’ll call the butler in.’...

Evening Gown of Yesterday
After days of fog
Moths eat away the slip of winter
Pieces of the New Year
Drift as ash into spring

Eyes waiting abhorrently
While midnight clasps the last remnants
Tomorrow becomes the butler
Escorting the sun

Rays peel open the solstice
Tattered wings flutter towards
The lamppost of February
Sealed in pocket mirrors…...

He Is
He Is
He is my love, he is my light

He is the only one worth the fight

He is my joy, he eases my pain

He is my sunshine when all it will do is rain

He sees more than others see

He sees what is deep within me

He touches my heart as well as my soul

He is the love of my life I'll never let him go.

Laughing Skull
LAUGHING SKULL

my arms have breached the white walls
of laughing skull.

i have feasted upon their thoughts
today my plate is empty.

the butler of my brain is tired
but continues to serve a feast.

bleached ribs a xylophone
playing macabre notes.

as my tongue dances inside
the empty hall of my mouth.

Fart Insurance
in the cold dark depth of silence
hallow "insert name"
fart insurance was created
so i could pass the blame
the odds have never been so great
nor has the passing pain
when the butler has to hang his head
and just accept the shame
fart insurance is the reason
rich folks don't pass gas
instead they like to tell you how
flowers shoot out their ass...

“Fiddle-dee-dee War War War”
~ ‘I don’t give a whoop’

Poet’s note: Okay, okay, you’re right! Rhett Butler didn’t give a “whoop” in the most famous line of Gone With the Wind. If the film censors had their way, it may have ended with a “whoop.” But they didn’t and the rest is history.

Temptation
if when I walk
on concrete sidewalks

stop at the bakery window
full with pastry

covered in chocolate
and creams

I notice
in the reflection

a new roundness
to my frame

and I begin
to worry

about You
the new medication

this heaviness
in my chest

just keep walking
your parents are diabetic

Trust In God
By Betty Harp Butler Troubles may come and go, But our God is steadfast. We can rest and be assured- His mercies are never ending, They will last, and last, and last! Trust in God when things go wrong. Remember that He is always there. Just trust in Him with all your heart, He is as close to you as one prayer.
