to my succulent June bug
who wrote me love songs
we harmonise together
under the swinging lanterns
I woke up just long enough
to see a lightning bug
hug itself

Mantis
Verdant, skinny,
Praying, sneaking, planning
Insect, wife, insect, husband
Surviving, hoping, dying,
Fearful, easy,
Prey
We’re living in a high tech age
Of megahertz and gigabytes,
But still can’t manage to assuage
The itch of tick and chigger bites.

I
Fly on
Wings of light
A flicker here
Another there and
Light up the dark
With my friends
Close by
Me.
I do not like how bed bugs prey
They feast upon us night and day
Praise God be kind
Grant peace of mind
And blow those blood-suckers away!

Appeared suddenly in my lungs
Moving slowly like slug
Now its hard to breath no songs sungs
Tomorrow will be clouds among

So, she pulled it from the wall plug
She disassembles it quick
Then used a new trick
Giving the system a debug tug
Nasty little bugs I really hate 'em
Did all I could to eliminate 'em
Tried to flush 'em
Tried to crush 'em
I just gave up and finally ate 'em

Bug-eyed lady ugly lady
Strolling slowly towards the sun
Bug-eyed lady cavern's lady
Child of hellhounds, friend to none.
The bug is still here, that darn flu,
I thought I was over it, too.
It suddenly came back
and doubled its attack.
It had lasted one month, now two!
Flying crazed into the summer night
Diving, crashing — what a sight!
The people, they shriek;
Cover they seek,
Slapped in the face by one’s flight.
Cough medicine? (CRAP...No re-fill!)
See a doctor? (DARNED if I will!)
I'm achin' to the toes
(Got a code in my doze)
Where the HECK did I hide the Ny-Quil?
Right, there's the black bug
Not on bed

lives in the human brain
hunts, capture, eats all things
stores the game in stomach
but leaves dry carcasses only
to those that feed it earnestly
