Men always remember Molly
The girl with the lethal brolly
Get near her skirt
Or try to flirt
And its back to Hello Dolly!...

Who rode around in a trolley
Three hippos in a bath

As a duck swam holding a brolly...

When catching a train
He had forgotten his yella umbrella...

Mollie's gone and lost her brolly,
left it on the bloomin' trolley,

Mollie's fit to be tied,
unprotected, without any lolly!

Curly Hair
The magic gem of curly hair,
Procures itself in sodden downpour.
Frizz retracts and curls define,
Revitalised by heaven's moisture.
No brolly required.
No wind-swept locks.
A long-awaited makeover,
Of the most natural kind.

Dad
I am your dad,
Hold my finger,
And learn to walk;
First few steps are arduous,
Hold my finger tight;
Life ahead is tough,
May have thorns,
May have bumpy terrain,
Be wakeful on each step you move;
Dad's hands always over your head,
As a brolly for shade;
In bad and tough times,
Follow you as shadow,
to keep you move;

Premium Member The Final Battle
Hand on hat,scarf wrapped tight
Black brolly angled low;
Each step a battle won.
A frail determined figure
On this year's reunion.

Face down in the mud
He was later found,
A note clutched in death's grip
"Better to die upon your feet
Than to live upon your knees"

No-one remembers why
No epitaph they wrote
Yet engraved thereon ..his final note....

Umbrella
The Umbrella

It was a rainy sort
Of afternoon, when I crossed
The bridge didn`t notice
Half it was missing.
Held on to my brolly when I fell
Parachuted landed on a barge.
They needed a deckhand.

The sea was a black mirror, the cook
Was artistic and pissed we only had
Bacon butties that day
I gave the collapsible canopy to the first mate
It was green and covered
In seagull droppings...

Thoughts Around My Brolly
My mom has given me a brolly
For it has started forth to rain.
My mom has given it - so jolly,
With its polka dots, (not plain).

She stood me on a little seat
And I'm looking at the sky...
A rainbow's there in front of me.
It's sun/rain by and by.

I'm hoping sun will shine alone
Without this rain to beat.
It would lend more of a happy tone...
Still, at least the day's not sleet!

Premium Member Remember That Downpour
Walking in the rain with you,
Splashing water with our shoes,
Bodies close under brolly,
When love smiled on you and me!

Your hair was wet and face too,
Lipstick stayed bright pink and true,
I slipped my arm round your waist,
Weather won me my first date!

Down the line many years hence,
When the rain comes pouring in,
think of a pretty face wet,
Pink lipstick, hair weather swept!

Premium Member The Colour Green
As I stood
Just outside my lonely house
Cursing the cold.

I saw them
Across the street
Under the flame tree.

A leaf fell on her hair
She cared not.

He was more concentrated
On brushing her hot red lips.

Cold wind blew but
They hugged closer
Feeling each other’s warmth.

Rain dropped slowly
They did not move.
He just opened his brolly.
The kissing did not stop.

Then I saw her face.
It was my ex.
I turned sickly green.
But not of the cold.
