Unaware

At the very edge of life
bordered by the admonition
"Don't go", released
to explore, expand knowledge
tangible, tactile
I found assumed freedom.

Bounded

Bounded

Circumscribed

Bordered

Are stories

Imagined

Appearing

Passed down

From past

Ages..

Stories which

Are freedom

Already...

Canvas

Every mind is painted on a separate canvas
Lines brushed to give edge to their scenes
With a multitude of colors peppered around
Bordered by abstruse and diverted memories

The Serendipity Field

If I could choose
a burial ground
I'd rather a field
of freshly mown grass
bordered by lavender hedges
of colour and perfume
and my headstone
a giant purple jacaranda
in full bloom.

Painted Peace

A long painted road
Bordered by tall, wise pine trees
Lit by orange sunset

The road stretches on
Into imagination
Story to be told

There is a light breeze
Leaves dance in the fading light
The picture of peace

America, Safe and Secure

To the East, to the West
  bordered by seas
  America seemed safe and secure...

  Twin Towers up in flames
Her southern border down the drain ~
America's imperiled where before it was sure

Beginning a New Poem

The dulcet larks in oak trees bring a smile
On cue, here comes the sun melting the grey
I walk you down the garland-bordered aisle
So Mom and I could (quote) 'give you away'
One poem ends and one begins today

Highlights of Summer the Butterfly

Hedge holly,pearl bordered
chalk hil!,common,marbled white
in small heath,marsh,
silverwashed..

a milkweed speckled wood

Lavender Beauties

Nature’s beauty,
Purple bounty,
Mother’s favourite,
They elevated her dampened spirit,
She communed with them,
They bordered her helm,
Their fragrance permeated our home,
They were permuted in the shape of a dome.

Evening Sky

She wears a gown of saffron silk
bordered with black leaf lace,
the moon her silver circlet clasp
with sparkling stars encased;
she dips satin slippers in the sea,
we her opalescent footprints trace.

Once a Small Boy

Once a small boy

Stood listening

On a Bridge to an island

To a bird in a tree

With a song in its head

Now I stand

Staring at

A bordered up Bridge to

A bare button island

And a bird that's just dead

with a stone in its head.

Too Much Drama

There was ever so much drama
Inspired by her role-modeling mama.
Her everyday bordered on trauma
Until they met President Barak Obama

Who helped take their existing karma
Delighting their Grandma Charma
She, the owner of a lovely llama
Too busy to pay attention to silly drama.

Loves Departure

" Enchanted by her soft laments was he in lawless wonder; seeking salvation as though they lied accursed in the darkness of appealing madness.

O such the precarious torments that bordered the divine need of mortal repentance; where upon their kiss, they cared not too depart. "

White Picket Fence

I don’t want the white picket fence
I’ll take the one that’s weathered by time
Bent in a way that gives it character
Bordered by tall grass and wild thistle
You might rest your elbows on it after a long day
And smile at the sunflowers I planted
Because you know that when their yellow heads grow too heavy
They’ll have something to lean on

Reverie

Listen to poem:
(Another old, childhood poem.)

Do you remember the old water well,
constructed of wood, stone, shingles,
and clay? It still stands in the dell --
old, decrepit, and gray. Bordered
by flowers of varying hues. it serves
as an altar to a lonely recluse.

The old water well where once we did meet
lies crumbling in dust, a hermit's retreat.

In the Meadow

The scents were calling
for a frolic in the grass
bordered by sweet blooms.
Life's full of unplanned pleasures
like a kiss under the moon.

In the tall green grass
cobalt sky was the limit.
Laughter in sunshine-
in early days of summer
nearby the emerald pines.

Princess Bren

She was spirited and happily gay.
Her hair never turned one single bit gray.
I never met her but the old folks say,

Truthful to a fault; they were all amazed.
Commoners adored her. She was well-praised.
Confidence bordered on one who is crazed.

Every girl wanted to be as pretty.
Princess Bren could write a ditty.
And her humor was insanely witty.

why do turtles come to my yard

turtles come up to my yard all the time
not sure why
or even if it is hundreds of turtles
or the same turtle hundreds of times

I have no lake or lagoon
I live in a meadow surrounded by woods
we are bordered on the south by a creek
a marsh lies to our east

are they traveling to
or traveling from?
I will never know
even if I reincarnate as a turtle

The Aura of Nature

I picture the serenity of the beautiful waters of Karukera,
as I listen to the sound of the Igarra falls,
with the rugged devotion of a palmwine tapper,
Bordered on the east by hills, and tall trees in the west,

The river appear shallow, but I do not tread to dive in,
Rather, I find solace, drinking Kunu, the rosé of northern Nigeria,
And from such an exalted apotheosis,
I exclaim: "Life is beautiful"

Hymns Sung In Summer Rain

Listen to poem:
Hymns Sung in Summer Rain
David J Walker

Driven by wind and rain
She sings the same
  	As if the sun
	Shown as a halo
In her hair

The same as if
clouds were silver
bordered in dark swirls
of crass girandole syllables
with a flair

The same as if
	no one dare
	challenge a remonstrance
	painted the name
of fained care

the same as if
	the sun
	and the halo
were never there

King of Kings

King of kings

My king is not from the jungle, he's not the liege of a bordered land
He was born in a place called Bethlehem, has all power in his hands
I was born in a world of pain and sin, but my lord had plans for me
Way before his law was etched in stone, before his will cast apart the sea
My soul is safe in his lasting care this without a doubt I know
Twas insured high upon the cross two thousand years ago.

A Savored Kiss

He warmed me as the sun when nights were cold
I was his moon, hair cascading in curls of gold
Lovers bound as one with yearning and need
With a hunger so powerful, it bordered on greed

I longed to savor his kiss and moistened my lips
We coupled together; sun and moon in eclispse
Desire not yet sated, I softly whispered a plea
"More deeply this time, my love, I beg of thee"

The Beach

The wide open sea
Such a beautiful blue,
Bordered by cliffs
Made quite a view.
The sand was golden
And soft to the touch,
The type of luxury
That I'd miss so much.
The sky was clear
With not a cloud in sight,
Sure to remain
Till the dead of night.
Colourful pebbles and shells
Lay smooth and shiny,
Varying in size
From small to tiny.
Dazziling beaches
And a tropical sun,
All the ingredients
Of my holiday fun.

A Signal

Your soul have signalled you feel better
So you could call, or message me
I check my box if there’s your letter
To realize again that sea
That lies between us, is too deep
The earth is bordered and too vast
And now of course, you need more sleep
Sleep heals from troubles, cleans the past
Sometimes your memory reminds
About me, but then again
Distraction comes, with all that binds
Yourself with things that still remain.
