Sing Us a Stanza
Sing Us A Stanza

We want someone to sing us a stanza
About when we entered an extravaganza
Forgot child support;
Spend a day in court;
After trying to find a big bonanza.

Premium Member The Peccadilloes of Life
Life can be a symphonic bonanza,
A philharmonic extravaganza,
A choral sunrise,
And an orchestrated surprise,
A conducted ecstasy,
An instrumental epiphany,
These are the peccadilloes of life,
The crescendo of my eternity....

Market Square
Busy piazza,
Amidst angry sun
And cacophonous sounds such as,
"pipipi peepee" and "bonanza! bonanza!!",
Calling all to answer,
Nagging market women,
Causing palaver.
Pedestrians roaming.
Every man to his own
Yet who knows who?

Bonanza
'Twas a Sunday extravaganza,
To eat dinner, watching Bonanza.
     Hoss’s plight so intense,
     That my state of suspense,
I cannot describe in one stanza!

Sancho Panza
Sancho Panza told Marisancha to pass the plate of Gazpacho
     she was screwy and forgot the cue and passed the plate to Cascajo
                          Sancho hit Mari, Casca hit Panza

Democrats Watch Westerns, Too
Bonanza on my TV
After that the Rifleman
Democrats watch Westerns, too
I can't write cowboy poetry
since I a not a cowboy
But I have been to Texas
and written for a publication based there
Democrats watch Westerns, too
Jesse James was a fierce outlaw
But I am not cut out to be him
as the song says
But, yes, Democrats watch Westerns, too...

Be respectful of do not disturb,
often it’s just me wanting time solo;
Understand that it’s not you,
no it’s just me picking my poison;
Driven to get myself rejuvenated,
all I need is a buck up bonanza;
Road trip until I feel a bit calmer,
I’ve no desire to provide an alibi;
Enjoy a grin don’t come undone,
spoil yourself a bounce back awaits....

Little Joe, Hoss, Adam, and Ben.
I see them on the tube again.
They live in central Nevada
at a place called “Ponderosa”.

Widower Ben, and his three boys
shared their pain, as well as their joys.
We saw laughter, as well as tears,
during a run of fourteen years.

They showed us a real frontier life,
full of adventure with some strife.
They still stand out among the best
in their exploits of the Old West....

Premium Member Ode to Iambic
Through iambic pentameter I sing!
Without thee nary a poem I'd put down.
Break the ice? In a pickle? No such thing.
Had not found a home in this word town.

Yet not all that glitters is syllabic.
And perhaps not all the world's a stanza.
To be pentameter of the iambic
Or not to be? What a real bonanza!

The world is your gooey lump in a shell.
Join the wild goose chase or move to Carmel.

No Reason, Just Rhyme
Give it a shot!
Let's see what you've got...
Jot it down
Be a clown
Go have fun with the plot.

Take a crack at a rhyme -
This got wrote in no time!
Pick a path
Have a laugh
It won't cost you a dime.

Try for a tough stanza -
It will be a bonanza.
Got a sec?
What the heck:
Poetry extravaganza!

A little much, don't you think?
So throw me into the clink.
Toss the key...
Goodness me,
This thing sure does stink!...

The Fugitive
Iron bars bent open begins the show
A black and white striped bonanza
A ballet of bravado under midnight skies

The bashful dancer eschews an eager audience
A plethora of prances covers an endless stage
His legs lilt inside a labyrinth of forgotten leisure

And no matter the truth of his turbulent persona
Tireless desires to dance and devour deliverance
Is what drives him from the spotlights in the dark
