What Does the Fox Say
Fox cub ventures forth

Blood-orange pelt, white-chested

Sneezes seed pod out

Fraka-kaka-kaka-kaka-kow
Could imagine this is a fox sound.

Ahee-ahee-ha-hee
is quite funny!...

Blood Orange
biting the bullet

savor the aftertaste

of lead killed

by friendly fire

we learn to listen

to our own voice

peeling an orange

from the inside out

every day our lives

try to start again

if we are afraid

to live our dreams

how are these

not nightmares...

The Orange
The orange cool in my hands
blood orange open in the moonlight
breathing in the fresh scent
the juices savory stroke my lips
blood orange open in the moonlight
plump and painted red in my hand
the juices savory stroke my lips
gloved by stippled orange skin

gloved by stippled orange skin
The orange cool in my hands...

Style of Colors
Vibrant colors everywhere
Plush pastels say you care
Natural tones always Fair
Brightly bitter blackberries show your flare
Shades of Gray challenge you to dare
Willowy Whispers of yellow warn to beware
Beveled baby blues- light spring wear
 Marshmallow Cloudpuffs Float On Air
Deepened Purple Thunder makes Stormy Weatherwear
Blood orange sunflowers remain quite debonair...

RED RIVER I sail the rapturous red river, where the sunrise swallows the redwood trees, and equator clouds rain dance ‘round the sun. Effervescent virtue kneels down swirling a seascape of citrus lemon and blood orange hues. Dove-white sails wave like linen on a clothes line. A spectator iota bows her head in praise. 5/29/2017 Ekphrasis Form

Haifa Oranges
Haifa Oranges

The sky is light blue or pallid
It is late afternoon
Clouds are burgundy and
The sun is a Haifa blood orange
Picked by a Palestinian’s
Gnarled hands.
Once this was his land, but an historical
Tremor came

He has resigned; this is Allah’s will.
But his sons think otherwise,
Blood orange, one day
Blood will overflow run down gutters
As we have another tremor that
Will rumble on, everlasting family feud....

poised on the edge of fall mother's leaven variegated peaks lie on a sea of blood-orange streaks, tease of yellow, and green loveliness. facing upwards, as the breeze seeks a hum from her breast richly pleased of endowment; she sneaks a peek upward towards the salmon ocean sky, transcendent heaven, and the lord's painted birds fly by. nigh the slow rivers edge reflecting its ripple comeliness. 9/23/2019

The blood orange moon hung low
the sky around an eerie orange.
Trees turned bronze in its light
and water the colour of marmalade.

A strange twilight night this Halloween
basted in hues of various orange streaks.
Tis easy this all saints night to believe
and even see the orange clad ghouls arise.

Skeletons walk in the gloom of candles
sparkling grins peering from pumpkins.
As witches fly across the moon cackling
leaving behind a trail of shooting stars....
