The Batted Ball

the batted ball
it flights toward the left field wall
we should attend its vector
inasmuch as it goes anywhere near Hector.

Lost Her Lash

Lovely Linda loved her lashes.
Batted them in pageant sashes.
With a cig in her mouth.
Until one lash fell south.
Then that lash went up in ashes.

Base Ball

The Stats show a Brooklyn Dodger
Scored RBIs with his todger
Then one day at bat
A Foul Ball went splat
And now he's Soprano Codger

Premium Member Let's Have a Hurricane Party

Let’s have a party in a hurricane,
Crazy couple said who lived down the lane
We thought they were nuts
Batted down our grass huts,
Wasted time. They were plainly more sane.

Premium Member Kermit and Miss Piggy

When Kermit the Frog
Found love at his synagogue
It was unexpected
How instantly they connected

The lovely Miss Piggy
Posing right next to Twiggy
Strategically waving her doily
Batted her eyelashes coyly

Thump,Thump,Thump

Thump, Thump, Thump
I fell in love with a tree stump.
One look at her and I had a hard lump.
She batted her eyes at me and my heart went kerplunk.
For her love and admiration, I’d smell like a million skunks.
In a tub of ice water, for her I’d take a dunk.
To me that girl is more than just a stump.
She makes my heart go thump thump thump!

Soul-Loss

hurtful words flung out
batted around by anger
stabbed through the heart

crumpled in a heap
screams echo in my head
sobs escape my mouth

only wanting to be loved
for who I am now
desperate for understanding

he doesn’t care
not one tiny bit
shredding my self-esteem

left alone to die
crucifying my soul
unable to self-resurrect

Roar

Roaring lion conquered her woe
Sweetly batted her eyes, his doe
His nips on her lips, fragile
Slipping in ardor, agile
And he stroked her flower-- soft
Held her in his heart aloft
Roaring lion conquered her woe
Sweetly batted her eyes, his doe

Premium Member He Felt Like Freddy In My Fair Lady

I felt like Freddy in My Fair Lady today
Said the young lad who had a glorious day
In the window was his crush, Miss Ida Mae.
She batted her eyes, and he decided to stay

Look at this trick he said, climbing the post.
She giggled at him, not caring that this was a boast.
You are such a Freddy! He thought to himself.
Big deal said her daddy, a mushroom-loving elf.

Premium Member Pinkie Cat

Pinkie Cat was more than a teensy tiny bit fine
She was the ultimate pink-a-lated pretty feline.
She upgraded and uplifted our old folk congo line
Dancing her two-step self, with a glitzy shine.

Pinkie Cat was the ritziest cat we’d ever seen.
She danced her tail off and threw off a sheen.
We toms watched, thinking she was pretty keen.
She gave me a batted eye look, she is a queen.

Cricket Ground

each human being I think
is a cricket playground
each day they wake up
and even in silent dreams
humans bat away things;
statements that are immoral
broken relationships and love
marriage and family instabilities
food that poisons stomach
antibodies that invade the body
challenging enemies in social life
stressful emotions that rise
writings that tend to offend
are batted away violently

Lashes

I have done well with words for so many years
Perhaps a pepper of deadly
You never came to me. . . and you did
So let’s just you and me
You and me. . . me and me you
Here’s the jist. . . a me and me you
Doing what we both have done
Ain’t no worry for words now that we’ve gone
Far
I miss you on certain days
And I collect you on other. . . somes
While you never cared for everyone
I batted my lashes crazy over you

Premium Member Paint Box

Amy batted her long lashes, her bright ruby lips pursed. Make up was smeared over her cute visage Daddy found her with the ‘paint box.’ Oh no Amy! daddy exclaimed, mummy will be so cross. Tiny tears formed and her ruby red lips wobbled. Amy didn’t think that using mummy’s make up for her own face wasn’t allowed, but then again Amy is aged just two! 12~10~16

-mother Wangari Maathai-

(A dedication)

Pain wracked torture
She suffered
with degradition smeared
was inhumanely beaten and batted
and consistently incarcerated
she stoically endured
All for her love
of her land

Her persistence
was not in vain
through her efforts
Kenya's green belt grew
over forty-million
trees were planted
all through her motivational strive
Mother Wangari Maathai's
inspiration lives and thrives
Yet still to this day.

Vaccinated and Premeditated

many have waited
we should be vaccinated
premeditated

we batted and sparred
for things had a disregard
removed and did discard

God we want you please
stop tornadoes ripping through trees
warm up and not freeze

trouble up they stirred
we have heard some say each herd
made picture be blurred

while we would ponder
Trump had been warmonger
is here no longer

did have a divorce
no longer are on same course

Eek a Vampire

An eerie cry the wind did make
In a darkened lonely place
Haunting silence it did break
This ghastly whitened face
All its life and color gone
A once real human being
Had all its blood there withdrawn
By a ghastly vampire thing!
All the people there in the town
The doctor and the priest
Batted every window down
Against this scary beast
Finally when the morning came
And when the dark had turned to day
This vampire was not the same
It’s only night they act this way!

Premium Member Bad Bad Kitty

Sheba knew she was the cat’s meow
a tabby with a shapely bow
she twisted down the alley that night
knowing tom was hiding out of sight

tom was intrigued, she was a looker
her swishy tail was the final hooker
he followed her into the kitty bar
chatted her up; it was good so far

Sheba batted her eyelashes at this handsome Tom
She had been studying him; he was the bomb
Tried to act coy but did not do a very good job.
Suddenly ruining everything was her husband, Bob.

Premium Member Wonderful West Wind

Wonderful West Wind was weirdly wildly, wistfully whacky,
Blesiegingly bullied, bustered, boasted, batted both barns and boats
Soothing serene sage serendipitous Sun subsequently surmised
Weird Wind’s bullying behaviors were caused by idiotic insecurities.

Everyone loves you, Sun tried to reassure wild west Wind.
West Wind was indignant and did not believe Sun.
He tried to blow Sun out of the sky, which did not work.
It made West Wind seem weirder, and not half as wonderful.

Premium Member Virtuous

Now COVID is ending, there’s cause for alarm;
The last several years, they’ve made bank on the harm.
The mandates have fallen; it seems they're all shot.
But Pfizer's a virus; it's coming in hot.
Pray for new variants? Or put life on hold?
Emergencies, fear ****: these never get old.
But maybe we've learned now: you don't mask a kid.
But when this mess started, none batted a lid.
If masking is virtue, and distancing too,
Then how will you signal when Omi is through?

Premium Member Multipurpose Surface

In the beginning,
the wood floor’s purpose
granted ease of care.

Grandchildren, however,
took two running steps
in sock feet, and slid
all the way down the hall.

Sweet William and Petunia,
sent feline fur floating
through breathing space
as they chased one another
and batted toy mice
across the shiny planks.

The warm, wooden hue
furnished a fitting tableau
with the furniture
of our casual lifestyle.

Peace and contentment,
settled by design
on multi-purpose surface.
