AUTUMNAL SOAK
the tub is filling
with temperature falling
~ leaves soak in color
10/23/2017
Anticyclones hold transient sway
mist forms ,at the close of day
in the Autumnal sunlight -
primary colours become gold
Crisp chills awake me
As leaves descend to the ground
Nature’s reds now thrive
Watching animals prepare
I stare in autumnal awe
Swallows migrate South...
dark birds in a starless sky
mourning motherland.
Entered in Raul Moreno's contest, " Tattered Wings "
The final vestige of autumnal reign
Releases its exhausted grip on life ~
A wistful willow quivers as its last leaf falls.

AUTUMNAL BLISS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
autumn's winds, a playful caress
dissonant wind chimes dance in artful bliss
As the aged
oak tree weeps
vibrant, autumnal gales
the mournful phase begins
as acorn teardrops
fall
Frontier vulture in the coded missions
Autumnal dew is misplaced
Red syrup on the corpse
Summer defeatists, it is not done,
Until there is equal dark & sun.
The Autumnal Equinox, to be specific:
rustling leaves whisper....
birds and squirrels snuggle up
autumnal nights here
the still muted leaves. . .
soon revelation of homes
secreted away —
the Autumnal sweep, bitter
cold of Winter will reveal
AUTUMNAL DELIGHTS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
leaf-covered sidewalks
pumpkins ready to harvest
gourds covered in frost
Love you
From sky blue heart
Like the flying birds’ songs
Like the autumnal jolly breeze
For peace

Northern hemisphere
Farewell to long days of light
Darkness, equinox
Sun decrees our destiny
Nature yawns and people sigh.
Autumnal trees
Shed their stunning leaves
Glorious gown of browns and gold
Nature’s delight for us to behold

autumnal picturesque (Haiku)
a quaking aspen
Fall leaves tumble to the ground
doves coo pleasant songs.

In the temple of autumnal faint light
Prayer lips ask the soul peace
Humane ground is blood-soaked

AUTUMNAL PAIR
cabin in the woods
curling chimney smoke and frost
jack pine looking on
alert hungry gulls
in the swirling autumn flakes
holiday’s assurance
Risen from times tomb these colours in her eyes..
An autumnal equinox their love, of which she finds ?
Pan the forest a paragon paradigms; as such splendour.

the autumnal leaves
intoxicating colors, whirl
fireplace, crackles.
Summer dusk's skies bled
steel blue autumnal shades and
crysral solar rays
Body of south breeze
Seized by the falling maple
Stranded gold field
On the door of autumn sun
Nature turns to rise thyself

The trees donned their autumnal suits,
And strutted in crisp scarlet boots,
Said the Birch to the Pine,
“You look almost divine”
“How about a nut brown for those roots.”
Signs of Autumn
Autumnal equinox,
Unpredictable weather,
Turning leaves,
Unique colors,
Magnificent sights of,
Nature’s beauty!
