Premium Member On Prayer Answered
Some folks say all their prayers are answered
I question their word on this doubtful assertion,
For it clearly would show God is partial to some
Requiring from others, more convincing coercion.

Alliterative Assertion
Although amateurs are annoyingly apt at aping another’s avocation, All artists accord another’s art acceptance, As any artwork asks appreciation, And after all, all artists are allusive, anyhow.

Apprehension About Pretention
Pretention is a claim or an assertion
of a claim to or about something.
Use of affection to impress; ostentatiousness.

Maybe he had made another pretention;
When done was with much apprehension;
Rather obscure,
Not very sure,
And all of this did depend upon intention.

Goodwill Ambassador Gershon
Kind, joyful poet, my assertion
Never tries to lampoon or deride
His poetry leaves us happy inside

4/25/2020

As this COVID-19 pandemic rages all around us, how encouraged I am when poets, like Gershon and others, use their gift of poetry to build up one another....

Truth Lies
Truth a word in tegrous clawed
Regal right admitted awed
Under spell of power old
Time has held it to be told
Hiding naught and standing bold

While the wicked ways of man
Indicate that no one can
Lie in true evasion
Let a pure and simple fool

Offer this assertion
Underneath each lie that's told
There lies a seed of truth...

Sanity Rising
Take madness to good use
dawn of abilities tasty juice
threads of sympathies intension
possessions and its self-assertion
to reach the beloved in vain
and love itself as gain

loading the heart of another
subtle pain and dust cover
love that is a exacting pled
self-assertive reasons dead
living means to hope survive
hoping means to live...

Another spring season of love has emerged,
Her eyes have turned to blue lakes merged;
Like the assertion of heavenly angel’s wing;
Birds of love; their voice may rise to sing;
The ocean has deepened with full of pearls,
Her sweat has melted into salt of life souls;
Stones were sharpened to silvery, from mine;
her shaped body , now decorated to shine! .

Jester's Court
Competition for the few vetted by the fewer
What's seen subjectively haughty choosing of a loser
Visceral assertion deemed a sycophantic t w a t
Prideful ego lifted veinly all but one have been forgot
Not important but you made it so just take it as it is
You're a whipping boy of some poor schmuck a name upon a list.....

Unbridled bout of self-assertion blatant
turns you to a repelling babbling exuberant.
Shutting of orifice floodgates you eschew,
forgetting everybody isn’t fool around you.

Torn to shards if you blurt bullsheet absurd,
do a volte-face eating your crappy words.
Try to not gulp them dry in stigmatic drouth*,
for a fly does not enter a closed mouth.

We All Are Prisoners
We all are prisoners
Engulfed within this tall walls
The inmates to us are friends and foes
Freedom to us, a foreign language
You are enslaved
By your duty to keep me within the walls
Even while I slumber
Elusive, sleep becomes to you
Though in different quarters
We share the same mansion
In this homely prison
Only your fearsome difference
Defines your category
But with assertion of no contempt
We all are prisoners...

Too Much of a Good Thing
Some things are hard to define.
When good turns to bad –
It’s a fine line.
Sarcasm steps over wit;
As the imposter of a joke,
Makes an indirect hit.
Teasing which was once fun;
Can morph into taunting,
When enjoyed by just one.
Assertion is an individual right,
But, if it goes too far;
A two-way fight.
Honesty, seen as a positive thing;
Sometimes is used as an excuse
To inject a critical sting.

A Strategist Assertion....
Whom is the head...whom is the tail,
just the flipsides of the same coin...

In peace,you war too maintain security,
In war,you war,too maintain the peace....

Population growth, with dynamic demands,
resources found in foreign lands....

A strategist will assert there's an art to war,
another will claim,there's no art in destruction....

Submission then assimilate,or
resist and face annihilation,
just look at past history,and
the fate of previous nations.......

Grow
How backlogged life's assumption
while artists' rogue affair
find landscapes of assertion
in seeing truth - just there.

The artists' honest friendship,
their work, a thought of care,
while opposition stymies
the chance to grow with flair!

And inspirations daydream
cannot suffice with stare.
As ordinary space seem
content with its own share.

Grow fluid, my own faith's stream -
Grow lavishly and fair,
still let us live our own theme -
the artists and their pare!...

BEING AFRICAN
Being African! To be an African!
Echoes pride, a resounding cry
to an identity of a unique heritage—
a footprints of an unparalleled cultural identity.

Being African! To be African!
testifies an unwavering faith
an assertion more than just being black
or being a branch in an African tree.

Being African! To be African!
is that sense of belonging
a struggle to assert autonomy
a connection to a unique tradition.

Being African! To be African!
Is more than just being black!...
