The Roman Emperor Who Had Nothing To Cluck About
In the annals of Rome the least glorious
was an emperor named Honorius.
Though Rome's plight was alarming
he spent his time chicken farming,
a pursuit which made him notorious....

Timeless Creation By Hands
Great work by hands
Walks the annals of history:
Painting, sculpture, writing
Carving, masonry, pottery
Jewelry, carpentry and others
Passed the test of time
Nothing is more beautiful
Than things made by our own hands....

Wasted Lives
greater horror tale
may not be found in
tomes of fractured minds
as bloodied annals
of our history

Is human flesh
fully worthless
that on command
it's turned to dust

hopes and dreams
squelched midst screams
for glory

thus is
spoils of

war

Premium Member The Custodian-Annihilator
The technological era we live in

As

The "Blasphemous One" will be recorded in the annals

Of human history

Because Man,

Instead of acting as the custodian of life on earth that

God intended him to be,

Unwisely,

Was transformed into life's merciless annihilator!

Premium Member Nature Slumbers
How swiftly the seasons change
Years like rivers flow unencumbered
Towards eternity’s vast and opened arms
And engulfed are these compelling streams
Forever to recline in the annals of time

Autumn’s leaves of burnt orange and red
Now lay beneath purest first snow
And merge with the color of earth
As silence hovers amidst brisk air
Nature, worn and weary, slumbers

Seldom Seen
rare birds in
view
    amongst the reeds
a site which onlookers
have waited
   long to see
It will be noted
    in their annals
a dream come true
     for some
Don't be put off
   by the difficulties
   the bird takes flight
and it's soon out of sight
Yesterday a memory
Tomorrow a wispy cloud of hope
Such as seldom
    seen in this land
Take note of it before
  it disappears into the mist...

Premium Member Crimson Etchings
I hope to grace this page today
With musings from my soul
And write between the lines
The greatest story every told
In trails of crimson etchings
Bleeding from an open heart
As line by line my inhibitions
Simply fall apart

A spirit free from earthly bonds
Oblivious to time
Whilst drifting through the annals
Of something so sublime
As daylight turns again to night
To break another dawn
As I and my muse
Write... on and on and on...

Ignorance Is Bliss
The wispy trees roll by
row by row.
The gentle breeze of the air conditioning
brushes against my cheeks
In the bright blue sky swallows sing freely

A meadow lies in peace.
Pure and holy.
Beautiful beyond belief
only nature can nurture such peace
away from our motions of metal.

But as they become increasingly distant
lost in the annals of time; not even a flower shall remain.
With only one goal in mind.
We look onward into the future....

Premium Member True Heart
When love came, it came so fast.
Was I mature enough to decide?
I hadn’t annals from my past.

Friends said my time I should bide.
I believed I knew what I wanted.
I wanted to be your bride.

By their doubts I was daunted.
How could they know much better than I?
By my doubts I was haunted.

What to do, I voiced a sigh.
Follow my true heart was the reply.
I couldn’t bear to say goodbye.

After all these years I can say
I have no regrets of my choice that day....

ECHOES OF GALLANTRY

Slaying selflessly at the warfront's edge,
Guarding the land with an indomitable pledge.

Faces etched with patience and pride,
Military spouses and children brave the tide.

Salute to the matriarch that cradles our fighters,
Teary farewells rest on their shoulders.

Immortal spirits slumber in their graves,
Back to the ancestral womb where tribute paves.

Their unyielding valor marks the annals of time,
Inspiring future generations with courage sublime....

Dead Jive
Do annals violate incarnate divinity?
Justifying a man’s inner repentance,
Wisdom cannot cry from lips of insincerity,
Yet what a sham, becomes this penance,
If temple anointing flows through dross,
And faithless arms is moved by pulse,
Then what O man is the message of the cross?
As madness reigns within these skulls.
A separation of ties from mindless covenants,
Blatant words from a broken heart,
And bloodline flow those whispering seductions,
To cut deep, to shed, to tear apart....
