True Heart

When love came, it came so fast. Was I mature enough to decide? I hadn’t annals from my past. Friends said my time I should bide. I believed I knew what I wanted. I wanted to be your bride. By their doubts I was daunted. How could they know much better than I? By my doubts I was haunted. What to do, I voiced a sigh. Follow my true heart was the reply. I couldn’t bear to say goodbye. After all these years I can say I have no regrets of my choice that day.

Beautifully expressed Linda, all the similes are so apt to support the vibes of the poem.. straightway from the heart without much rhetorical fuss.. Praiseworthy

You are too kind Silpika. I am happy to hear your words as this was my first attempt at the form and I feel I did not do it justice. :) Thank you for the visit and time to read and comment. Linda
