One day, I thought a man,

it got to a vicious battle, there was blood everywhere,

But I was too weak,

Watching us everywhere
The eyes in the sky monitor us

George Orwell, born in India and first named Eric Blair,
knew poverty and sickness, so he knew life could be unfair.
“Animal Farm” and “1984” brought him great fame.
For his critical profundity, we recall his name....

Premium Member The Here and Now
Orwell and Alinski both saw the
here and now.
Sal, he wrote a manual,
George wrote a story bout a
farmer and some pigs,
That both forgot to milk the
cow
One went door to door
The other went high brow
Both told us what would
happen
Both also told us how
It was "radical" in "1984"
It's factual right now...

Political correctness ,must win the day
Group think of politicians who claim
to know best
Conform, conform, be subject to their will
is always their quest
These limousined elite ,

Motherhood
A mother strives to love her child,
To shield it from the woes and cares,
The strife and hardship man endures.

The world is full of traps and snares
That Mother always frights away,
The evil beast that haunts our dreams.

We run to her in times of need
But turn away when she needs us.

Sabbath, 1966, 1984
Those motel memories return.
The colored comic pages opened first
And water bubbling in an urn
And powdered coffee slaking my communion thirst.

Montana windswept plains outside.
Stark desolation’s existential rites within.
But earth I’ve trekked since then rolls wide:
And prayer, not newsprint, now assuages sin....

Partial Solar Eclipse -- Austin 30 May 1984
There was a solar eclipse today.
Only partial, but enough to make you want to look.
It made me sad.
I didn't have a piece of smoked glass or ultra-dark Ray Bans, and certainly not a solar scope.
Looking up, I saw the sun flash through leaf-made pinholes waving in the breeze.
Disappointed, I looked down,...
and discovered a thousand crescent suns dancing at my feet....

Weep
My man, my sons
Weeping,
do not you shun
lay your head upon my breast
and with my arms
you I will caress
Turn your frustrations
from anger to tears
your still my strong man
please have no fear
For it is only a lie
that a man is not to cry
My sons, my man
weep hard
weep hard as you can
weep weep
for you will find
a brighter day and a pleasant sleep

Ivan Hunter
Just a quick look
First chapter of a book
First verse of a song
Can’t stay overlong

A 50-yard dash
Gone in a flash
Not right, not wrong
Can’t stay overlong

A heat seeking missile
God blows the whistle
God strikes the gong
Can’t stay overlong...

*Dedicated to my brother Ivan who lost his life on an airline training flight in 1984. 'Hunter' was his middle name......

Was there ever a time she doubted my love?
As a child, did I let her know how much her acts of kindness meant?
No one will ever love me as she did.
Decades have passed, but my heart still yearns for her touch.
Ageless is the affection for the mother who lives in my heart.

*Written March 15, 2015, in honor of my mother who passed far too young in 1984....
