Today is a holiday;
You might assume
That I’d be in a temple,
Not watching on Zoom.
But my son sent a link
So I see and I hear
All the rituals practiced
This time every year.
A bonus today
Is I have a great view
Of my grandson, whose aisle seat
Is something new.
The rest of the family
Is there, not as clear,
But I’ll see them all later
When break fast is here.
We’ll then sit together
In person and eat,
Which will certainly be,
After fasting, a treat.

I so hate my job on ‘Customer Services’
People keep bringing stuff back
“This doesn’t work.”
“This isn’t right.”
“This was supposed to be black.”
And then in my break I checked the newspaper
To see what there was in the news
Just Harry and Meghan in some Netflix caper
God, those two give me the blues
But wait! Who was this, my fairy godmother?
She said, “I will make your wish so.”
I did have to wish for something or other
So lottery numbers I said I must know
She thought for a moment and said, “It shall be.”
And then I was rich, my dream had come true
My every desire was right there for me
Customers services? Not me, I’m through
But then she was back; was it double or quits?
She said, “I’ve a trade for you, Dear,
if you should relinquish last night’s winning tickets
then Harry and Meghan will both disappear.”
I gave it some thought, I pondered all day
For I’m sick of him and of her
There’s just one thing left that I need to say…
“How can I help you, Sir?”
Their food was clearly salty
But their drinks sweetly malty,
Their service rather faulty,
But they weren't at all haughty;
Yes, Owner's son was bossy,
Yet, had sounded not saucy,
In the end, meals not a wretch,
Since, we aren't likely to retch
And all we'd asked for they did fetch,
Sure making hands they did stretch
Therefore, let's not cruelly try
To their victorious looks fry
With either angering coughs
Or seeming The much Pissed - Off...
For another hoped Food Call.
When it's a much smart hall.
Week One of two with zero running water
Faucets are dry because of a labor strike
Corrupt politicians and unions in S. Africa
Frustrate! But Our Lord is a God of Grace
Our watertank (for roof runoff) is emptying fast
I asked a neighbor just yesterday
Is there rain in the forecast (he didn't know)
All night it rained, our Tank is near full again
Hallelujah and shalom shalom. Trust Him
Beautiful canvas beautiful skin
arrested smiles
burgeoning love
seeping into me
oh, come on, karma talk
like a french lover:
"La vie est une fleur dont l'amour est le miel."
| Life is a flower of which love is the honey
and it is making me feel ill and cloudy. |
Is this what we lovers get? Is this what lonely
hearts feel when we mix love with art?
Oh, come on, please.
Karma is not enough
i gave it up for camera.
Remembering how i felt most intense pleasure
piercing my heart upon a figural stone shaped
as a monster's heart.
I messed objects with abstract thoughts
and lost myself which became more real.
and everything and every sense and every thought
tried to devour me within a black throat of fear
and it tried plainly ~~ i use to daydream at night
and paint colors in the darkest thoughts of my
mind; everything oh everywhere and everythis
and everythat |and it tried to eat me |
i woke up believing i was right here now.
Where i threw colors within my head
where i drew deepest fears away
when i was there when you cut me with
your words/i tried to say...i tried to say
tried to say....
Love is everywhere.

A Portland man found himself in perpetual gloom
Invited a pretty gold digger up to his room
He paid her well for special services,
Asked her to be one of his mistresses
And learned later she swept him cleaner than a broom.

For this short time,
We had found our lives,
Because the council had tried to compromise.
The payed for our B ‘n’ B,
In the centre of Bournemouth,
Right by the sea,
The days began to deteriorate,
Just like my moms weight.
As did her money, her energy and her hope,
These responsibilities became too much to cope.
On the 26th of the month,
2 ladies came over to say,
That they were going to take us away.
The tears on her cheeks,
As the car drove away.
“Just for a few weeks”
Is what my mom used to say.

So don’t have to go to an office
When you're upset, you always run,
To a train, tram, or taxi.
You don't value anything anymore
And you yell "mercy" as you run.
When you're worried you play with change,
Which is ringing in your pocket.
You will braid your maiden's hair again
And think about a new plan.
You often eat alone,
Restaurants, cafes, even on the street.
No one will honor you
And you will slouch more.
You usually text your friends,
Or you are sitting enthusiastically on the web.
You use their services,
When you don't want to go anymore.
Lonely – written on your face,
"Lonely" her friends whisper after her,
Wind snow sweeps on an empty street,
The lights are out again in your house.
Booze can't warm your soul,
And the bar won't be a warm home.
Will you turn the music down again,
And you will dream of the unknown.
in the front clapping and praising, high hands reaching.
former times held the lyrics of tambourine —
bells in a circle shaking, hitting thighs.
then there’s the ukulele — a small guitar,
held close in swaddle, fingers strumming up and down.
emotive feelings of sound as piano keys and chords
ride the path to your soul and the unity of chorus
with flowing robes — undulation of the Creator’s sea.
and the moment i followed my grandmother,
a bagpipe touting Amazing Grace —
the rich mahogany box levitating,
to her final resting place.

Trailers sprout from desert floor
Tombstones marking the graves of my aspirations.
Tumbleweeds snag remnants of dreams
And blow across macadam prairie.
A highway carries hope far past this place
Of broken dreams and suffocating despair,
But me the mountains trap; they surround me,
And I'll not see home again.
