Self control, God knows, is difficult at best…
Especially when rebellious is the
self possessed.
I've put myself in corners,
I'll be grounded till pigs have wings
I can't even tell myself what to do, it seems.

the heart a quickening on the rise
exhilarated at the ascension
my senses heightened by the exquisite
celestial journey
unfettered and with absolute freedom
elated by the emancipation and release
of all senses, serenely self-possessed
confident odyssey
soaring above and beyond the rest
without limitation of man
defying those who would deny me
unparalleled peaceful passage

Freedom is not a mere concept,
nor a philosophy, nor a political
opinion – it is what drives men
to revolution, and masses from
religion: The want of freedom
turns children from parents, and
spouses away from domineering
mates.... Freedom is why God
deplores sin, and why Jesus did
not run, chose being nailed to a
cross, rather than propagate the
the control of Mammon – Freedom
is why authoritarianism has its appeal,
and also why it ultimately fails....
Freedom is Christ! Freewill the
most misunderstood concept in
the Universe. Freewill means,
all is created by our minds,
hearts and wills – the world
around us, our very physical
bodies, the manifestation of
a shallow, self possessed consciousness,
driven by the fearful lie of limited
existence. Freedom is not what you
think you know, but what is real,
all creation the expression of the
omnipotent, immortal Body of God.
Death~is a survivable illusion!

I KNOW;
I CAN BE STRONG,
I KNOW;
I'M OFTEN WRONG.
I KNOW;
I CAN BE CRAZY,
I KNOW;
THE TRUTH CAN BE HAZY.
I KNOW;
I HAVE A LOT OF PASSION,
I KNOW;
I SEEK SATISFACTION.
I KNOW;
I CAN BE SMART,
I KNOW;
I CAN BE OFF-THE-CHART.
I KNOW;
I CAN BE TOUGH,
I KNOW;
I CAN CALL YOUR BLUFF.
I KNOW;
I CAN BE BOLD,
I KNOW;
I BLOW HOT THEN COLD.
I KNOW;
I CAN BE OBCESSED,
I KNOW;
I CAN BE SELF-POSSESSED.
I KNOW;
I CAN BE A FIGHTER,
I KNOW;
I CAN PULL An ALL-NIGHTER.
I KNOW;
I CAN BE LOYAL,
I KNOW;
I CAN BE HEMROIDAL.
I KNOW;
I'M A BELIEVER,
I KNOW;
I CAN BE A DECEIVER.
I KNOW;
I CAN WALK THRU FIRE,
I KNOW;
I CAN BE A LIVE-WIRE.
I KNOW;
I CAN FIGHT THE BATTLE,
I KNOW;
MY CAGE YOU CAN RATTLE.
I KNOW;
I'M FULL OF EMOTION,
I KNOW;
I CAN MAKE A COMMOTION.
I KNOW;
I CAN BE A FRIEND,
I KNOW;
THAT THIS IS THE END.

Delicate drapes tattle on growing winds,
silk skirts a marbled artisan tiled floor,
sunlight choreographs shadowy halls,
crystals entertain self-possessed pupils.
Silk skirts a marbled artisan tiled floor,
mid-eastern carves o'er vivid mosaics,
crystals entertain self-possessed pupils,
mezze centerpieces a well-placed spread.

A mind can love
an atheist
But a soul must wed
to God
Each troth professed
by self possessed
One vow
—to rise above

A child is simply uncomplicated
neither inhibited, nor reflective, free.
Unencumbered by the past
not held-back by what lies ahead,
beyond care for contemplation.
Children -
jump in puddles, splash in the bath
create spontaneously
lose themselves in endless play
sing and laugh whenever they want
love old people dearly
have limitless imagination and curiosity
chortle and sing when playing together
eat stuff from the jar
are creative with their messiness
appreciate the tiniest things that matter
care not for caution nor hesitation
are fearless of consequences
are self-centred
are self-possessed
rightfully just so.
a gift for us
to share their joy of life,
and their boundless
enthusiasm for fun.
Let the children play -
they have so much to teach us.

According to Dr. Twelfth
Cosmetics impact health
Subvert true love by stealth
And squander limited wealth.
At the end of the day
Beauty rinses away
And the face on display
Appears withered and gray
All that money and pain
Is flushed down the drain
So its hard to explain
Why they do it again
When it comes to a test
The face men love best
Is not self-possessed
But quite manifest
In Ye Olde Gene Pool race
Neither beauty nor grace
Could begin to replace
A familiar face!

When the tick at last loud enough that my clock did knock
I got a dog
I saved and I readied and I searched with my gut
And I found you
You most spectacular mutt
You taught me
You changed me
In a way brought me up
Such a challenging intelligent self possessed pup
I was in awe
Adored you so daily
Absorbing each moment of every walk
How you glowed in the moonlight of our late at night jaunts
And sat with me watching what was there to watch
You were there with me when my life fell apart
I thought too often about you
About me
Without you
That too soon inevitable death do we part
Spent too much time worried about a pain in my heart
When the time came
You were noble
I was by your side
Adopting my next dog
Three days after you died

You must not bend nor break any rules
Not even a hint of biting them!
Else, you'll likely feed the trolls
You must not bend nor break any rules
Else, you'll likely drag over the coals
By the self-possessed medium
You must not bend nor break any rules
Not even a hint of biting them!

...inspired by 'A Soldier of the Great War'
by Mark Helprin
The old man stumbles, the young man
swaggers with assurance.
Stars of grace and suns of perfect
promise point to journeys yet uncharted
on their pathways to fulfillment.
The old man dreams of childhood,
cherished memories and golden opportunities.
The young man yearns for sexual expression.
Companions, self-possessed, growing
in respect for their astonishments and fears.
The old man a philosopher,
a master of life's unpredictabilities;
the young man just a neophyte,
the world at his behest.
Together, yet alone, storied travelers
with different versions of the universe.

To merge my art with lonely drops of rain,
And enslave thunder rolling from my breast.
Where storms are formed by a lover's pain,
And each breath heaves deeply, self-possessed
To render her face drawn within the storm,
As its shades are etched by loneliness.
Where darkness covers, the welling tides form,
They bring rain to dark places that confess.
Alone in my drawing, without a sun.
Drowning by storms dark, my head now creates.
Tethered to my sadness, I cannot run.
I crumble and fall by my own dictates.
This ghost of her face I've drawn, now tore,
Haunts me as I draw it, forevermore.

In the rain I stand
pressed against your window glass,
warm and cold the liquid runs
where my tears mingle.
Do you see me here
longing for the warmth,
the embers stirred to flame
lighting the room
where she sits beside you,
appearing self possessed and free,
a fake-smiling mannequin of me?
Why can't I turn away,
walk out of this self barred prison
into another, happier landscape?
Weeping wallflower, trembling, naked soul . . .
the jagged flashes push me closer,
bright hot lightening bolts of fear
flattening me against your wall.
