Not All Stones Are Diamonds

Sunday morning up with the lark,
I went jogging in the park.
Suddenly I felt pain in my sides,
soon I started taking long strides.

I went to the doctor immediately,
I needed help desperately.
The doctor smiled and wrote me some tests.
Clinic visits I always detest.

The doctor told me I had crystals,
no not diamonds the oxalic one.
The doctor said wrly "don't worry my son."
"I can turn them into small pieces by surgical procedure",
the doctor said proudly giving my brain untimely seizures.

How was he going to break them small?
how were they going to pass?
Never could I imagine that such tiny stones could also harass.

Not all stones are diamonds,
some are kidney stones,
The pain these tiny crystals inflict can make you simply atone.

Passing these tiny stones was no easy task,
no better punishment for all my sins I could ever ask.
Finally the stones departed,
passing them was not for the softhearted.

Don't underestimate these tiny stones,
they can make grown ups moan.
Eat healthy ,stay fresh and take care of your each bone
and
please beware of the kidney stones.

The Other Side

You never fully understand something until it happens to you/No matter once or fifty times/It stays on your mind/You think that it's buried deep/But in actuality it's engraved deep down inside/Some gloat about it/Others cover it with pride/Me myself/I hold my head up/Look above/And to God I confide/I aint gonna lie though/Sometimes I wanna hide/I just gotta find that inner strength and pull that thing from inside/And here lies the other side/The side that is a little different from the world/The side where it can happen to any boy or girl/The side most people don't get to see/Where you can't control the outcome/You just have to wait to be free/It feels like a dream/Or worse yet a nightmare/Where you're living your life but are in constant fear/We all have our downfalls and need to work on different features/We all have things that scare us tremendously/Me personally it is seizures

Well lookie here, Jack's alive and well
Except for his seizures, he still answers the bell
Thought he was done
But back for more fun
Seizures are scary but I just tell em, “go to hell”!

Seizures

Trembling like a leaf
The present now forgotten
Awakening lost.

Seizures

Sweet seizures,
I get them these days,
Come awake,
In a foggy haze...

Just drop to the floor,
Sometimes unaware
Save for bruises
and an overturned chair

Can't drive no more,
Too dangerous,
For sure
Just go on my way
With pain every day

Only Soup and music
Distract my pain
And suddenly,
I'm me again

So thank you,
Dear Soupers,
Such treasured friends,
I hope I amuse you,
Cause it's love that mends

And I get plenty,
Right here,
On this marvelous site,
Although, at times,
It keeps me up all night..

Thank you Poetry Soup Management
You serve the world well
This you can say
