Premium Member It’s Not Woodstock, Mom

A conversation in 25 words

Mother knows best
It’s not a test

     I’m a rebel, man
     I’m going to San Fran

Be sure to wear
Some flowers in your hair!

Daze of Wine and Kerouac

flight time again, west bound
as dharma trails unfold ahead
trek trek treking
hitching and hiking through
fields of green and gold
and down black highways, byways,
and taking me to Old San Fran
across the land alone
alive ablaze
nightfall finds me lying
under the dancing stars
under that one o’clock moon
dreaming of the days of
wine and Kerouac
they are upon us once again
then as day breaks
forging forward I go
onward toward the bright lights
night lights of red and blue
the flashing neon city is alive
arriving at last
feet fat, tired and aching
as Jack’s ghost comes to my
side, whispers
“I’ve been here before”

and as my journey ends
I realize it is only
just the beginning

Broadcast Difficulties

Words from Abroad!

Rent just came out of the bank wearing a
different kind of city.

Seems as news like us won't turn around.

Some Easters don't give great advice

Linda Annie

She ths dressed day forgotten
Worked out of abandon
She the hip hop record outta San Fran mind

Bailed out on joy, full of hurt promises

Used as a mail box named
Linda Annie, wouldn't arrive
Wouldn't arrive lest the stage crowded in
Sop
Sop and left over dues
Over the diligent boss
Less convoluted when shalks grease the pat

Janis

I can still hear that raspy, smoky voice
that could belt out a bluesy rock song.
Every time I see a Mercedes I can’t help
thinking of you imploring the Lord for one.
A young woman from Texas who dressed
more like a hippie from San Fran.
I will always wonder if she and Bobby McGee
rode that semi the whole way to New Orleans.
She stole a piece of my heart when she left
Big Brother and went out on her own.
Sadly, she flamed out like a young sun
that goes supernova.
She joined the twenty-seven club and
passed into music history.

Premium Member Five-Star Cities - Elsewhere

   Paris is gay
     Madrid sways
   Munich's beer flows
     Amsterdam's tulips grow

   New York and Chicago
     high grime and crime
   San Fran and L.A. ~
Buddy, can you spare me a dime

Premium Member A Streetcar Named G Major

Clang, clang, clang, toots a trolley: X-s-teams,
though it's not the same San Fran by the Bay,
remembrance connects, perspective redeems,
sound stirs, 'Mathis', "It's Not For Me To Say".

Maintained posture as my observance probes,
heedless complacency, schemed convenience,
the prate news reader provokes our earlobes,
heroines chat as a girl grasps missed-chance.

Tram's next stop, the conductor ring updates,
abides fixed whiles, a life away smokes forth,
traffic noise flowing, like manmade primates,
shrieks giving birth...streetcar desired...part.

Ding, ding, ding, went the bell; attuned Judy,
"Voices of Spring", scratched slippers of ruby.

Premium Member Once Upon a Time When a Bat Eater Ruled the World

Once upon a time:
a wet market bat eater
turned humanity into mask-wearing
double-ply paper-hoarding survivalist.
Rapist and assorted ogres were being set free
while citizens were cuffed for walking beaches
San Fran libs gave free housing to convicts and druggies
while teachers lived in vans and cars like degreeless hippies...

PEOPLE! This is just a glimpse of what is to come
what happens when a rogue sets off a dirty bomb
millions of desperados will be displaced overnight
they'll disperse into the gun-stripped suburbs
frantically- hungry- dirty-minded
willing to snuff your life
for a little grub and
a sparkling behind
"crazy" preppers
were oh-so right...
once upon a time.

Premium Member Dentist In San Fran Bay

Marrying a chemist seemed okay
He appeared normal most of the day
When their boy DeRide
Formed sesquioxide
No one was surprised in San Fran Bay

Poem of Lyrics Two Rings

Once there was a way to get back homeward
I am I said
to no one there
Ring ring golden ring
around the sun around your pretty finger
Another pleasant valley sunday
God Bless the little man
and it burns burns burns
the ring of fire
the ring of fire
The only one who could ever reach me
was the son of a preacher man
Lord brother love brother loves travillin Salvation show
And the thunder rolls
For to live without your love is just impossible
You are so beautiful to me
She's like a rainbow
If your goin to san Fran cisco
be sure to wear some
flowers in your hair
Pretty woman

Gotham City, San Francisco

Just one little brave boy and an entire city
Gave this heart so much joy in seeing such glee
For Bat Kid has arrived to fight for all the children
A true fighter who survived and a hero among men

For they came from near and they came from far
But one thing was clear it was a glimpse of who we are
With so much love in the air and such a true spirit of joy
A whole city took the time to care for this one little boy

In his cape and Batman mask and his hero by his side
The whole city would bask oh that Golden Gate pride
Lining every single street and cheering so constant and loud
Getting a whole nation to their feet boy San Fran we are proud

And as for little Miles my new favorite Super Hero
Showing how most of our trials basically add up to zero
Thank you for your example putting such courage on display
The blessing of you is so ample as seen in this glorious day
