The Mist and the Gray

Mist fell lightly that February day.
A blend of sad and serene.
The colorless view from the window — the gray:
what Regret must look like, if seen.

“I know everybody,” Regret said to me,
as he stopped at the window to stare.
“Their bad decisions, their bitter derision,
their cries that life was not fair.”

Regret said that he was alive in the mist,
that he visits most people in gray:
“I sit with millions on dark cloudy days,
and I never ask if I may.”

“I come to haunt your heart,” he whispered —
his gaze, from the mist to me.
“To mourn each loss, to count the cost
of all the locked safes with no key.”

Down came the mist, like sorrow it fell,
the eyes of Regret piercing me.
“I’m sorry, so sorry, so sorry,” I cried.
But Regret had no empathy.

Regret stood up, pushed his chair in,
His parting words like a spear:
“I have to go now, to see everyone else,
before the mist and the gray disappear.”

V I C T O R

V I C T O R

Victor, a visionary, who won't vanquish,
Voyaging through virtual veils of a wish,
Very valiant in his virtual venture or quest,
Venerable in his reality & veritable deals.4

His virtual vesture, a verdant shroud,
Vouch safes the virtues of his vestal proud,6

Victorious, he voyages through the void,
Veiling his virtual & very presence, unemployed.
His vivacious voice, a symphony of sense,
Vibrates with visionary intelligence,¹°

Victor's virtual vocabulary, a treasure trove,
Vast & varied, a venting virtues to prove.¹²

In victors realm, despite vices, he reigns supreme,
Vivacious, vibrant, a validated visible gem,
Though Victor's virtuality, a verdant dream,
But in actuality, a veritable victorious realism.¹6

Look closely at
the crows.
          At 9:00 p.m.
the highway ends
and hollow appendages
          of turning headlights
pet the tangled shag of the field.

          Dead-mute, perched in the
shush and sigh of wind through brush,
                         at the last turn-off.

                   Background city crest
                   rectangles
                               are switched off safes.
                        Locked in
                                      dust,
                                              old exploitations.

Once this field had no crows.
Black women hung diapers off tottering
porches. Families
lived sandwiched.
Splintered door frames,
                      coal clouded windows
     and crooked bricks.

Now the crows are ebony raisins
of scrap dinner town
where only
         bricks of blight
           sunk among the weeds
                are
           cataracts
                in
                rain.

Beauty Betrays

Beauty Betrays

When the sight is real, the being is real
In the midst of all, what a beauty to behold
A combination of qualities that compel unending gaze
It defines the pleasure of the senses

Safes and codes have been broken by the enchantress
The system coordinates have seen the light of day
We glitter, we smile and we pursue
It is said, it is worth pursuing, therefore we pursue

A narrow road we have never tread upon
As beauty leads we trust in the formation played
The artistry of this beauty is magnificent
How do we conquer the feelings that push us?
We are in a realm that is so real

Morning and noon is here, we are filled with confidence
We are struck to the bone by beauty
Darkness is soon approaching, how can beauty be tested in the dark?
Here in the dark, we realized it was robbery
Character is a friend of beauty.
Beauty Betrays.

Every Wife Is a Padlock

My friend, did you know this?

Every wife is a padlock in a home
handed over the home by trust
to keep safe and secure from loot
and report any attempted robbery

My friend did you know this?
few report attempted robbery
often padlock becomes looter

Very pads keep doors locked
thieves often break into chambers
and grab the safes down there
full of pearls, gold, honey, cakes

What I know you do know too
but why do thieves break padlocks?
Simple. For every door is master key
for willing opener, willing opening

The husband it is true is a watchdog
guarding straws, honey pots, beers
in every home they live and bark

My friend did you know this?
listen and reflect on this message

Often as they bark and run around
they use straws to drink honey, beers
surely looted from unwatchful owners
mindless they carry some away in joy

Padlock, watchdog, wife, husband;
expel master keys, shun baits, be a wall

Eliminate All Doubts

5/18/17

Cat stalked a mouse
Trying to hide and crouch
Then it pounced

From the West, North, East, and South
We don't know what everything is about

Quit sticking out your snout
Don't pout
Or whine and shout
And quit relying on word of mouth
As well as bragging about clout

Get off the couch
And bounce out
Of the house
Instead of being a slouch

Valuables stored in safes with or without a pouch

Near and far from waters that do or don't have trout

Times of flourishing and droughts
Hurting or helping bank accounts

For you, I just can't vouch
Considering that you may just be trying to oust
Or joust
Then you will eat your own words, and possibly get gout
When I come in full force, and eliminate all doubts

Ink Well Spent

I'm a message poet,
with a diamond pointed pen
I crack the hidden safes,
and take a honest look within
Things people wanna keep secret,
dark things they don't want coming to light
Corruption sealed in steel containers,
safe from any purview or oversight
Let the blood from my ink of truth
seep into their secret crevices
Shake the metal boxes of lies to the hard floor,
then crack open the impenetrable sealed doors
Exposing all the bartered deceit and appraisal sins,
unethical agreements and ill-gotten possessions
When letting the people know
where all of their hard earned money went
The cost of liberty, always,
is ink well spent

Stock Exchange

These Bulls and bears like pets,
Loved by many,
Touching hearts,
Living in minds,
Nations to nations,
Down towns,
At homes,
In rooms,
Also in safes,
In wallets,
Even inside files,
Tied with no belts,no ropes but ribbons,
Bulls and bears at the stock exchange

Still

still
still fighting after all these years more researched investigated and studied more clearer and serious the situation grew and now understood The Charter and rights are for those that have learned and understood and know they apply to all to protect and respect so it should be .. as years gone by and those that were in high places of authority and society looked down at ignorance or weak to much windfall and thought as not deserving. right and wrong ,no compassion or fairness old boys network winks and handshakes earnings losses ledgers locked away in safes its clients lawyer privileged information times passed by would if any questions arise ... investments so incarcerate the victims before the brows are raised as it could expose who how much such as the pilots project alliances planed by those in high places and cases and losses as time goes by innocence ...distance far off place and now we all knew
