Victory

Victory

You get attacked when the devil wants you back.
He wants you to focus on all you lack,
instead of what is still intact.
All he can do is deceive,
try to get you to pack up and leave
The promises of God's word
All the whispers, in the night, you once heard.
He wants you to fight with your carnality
Trying to convince you that those feelings are reality.
He wants you to swim in oceans of despair
And then accuse God of not being there.
He wants you to rehearse that old familiar verse,
Ultimately, he wants you to end up in a hearse.
But, who can deliver us from all those lies?
Who can hear all our cries?
Who can take this mess we're in?
And wash us clean from all our sins?
Who can calm the raging sea, still our heart, and set us free?
No one but Jesus, no one but our king,
He restores us as we praise and sing.
his faithfulness is beyond our comprehension
He is the God of the resurrection.
So when the devil comes with his foolish talk
Remind him that with God you walk
On top of mountains of victory
God made the way for us to be set free!

Broken window

Broken windows
Eyes are bare
There is no one inside of there.
Fallen trees
Bow to their knees
As the wind blows through their leaves.
Promises kept
Promises lied
I've never known promises to sing as they cry.
Roots buried deep
Intertwined as they sleep
Sinkholes of silence
The secrets they keep.
What if the sun pierces through to uncover
All that's forgotten
All of their lovers
What if the rain washes away the debris
Would it bring back what no one else can see?
The stories untold
Are Treasure and Gold.
The stories unseen
Are now just a dream.

Depression

It starts again
It's hard to breath
Lord, I have so many unmet needs
Please help me stand
I don't want to fall
You are God, in control of it all
This empty perception
Leads me into deception
This void in my heart
Breaks me apart
I can't move
I can barely speak
It's your love i desperately seek
The road has been long
And the journeys been hard
I'm finally letting down all of my guards
Take hold of my life
For I can't take much more
Help me persevere
What I was made for
In this silence I feel you near
You are the one who demolishes my fear
In this silence I feel you near
You are the treasure I now hold dear.

I'm Fine

I’m Fine

Peel back the layers, it starts again
All of my life I've tried to pretend
That I'm fine, I'm fine
Pages are written, chapters are done
Many nights I've wanted to run
But I'm fine, I'm fine
Smokey white clouds fill most of my days
Memories linger in this gloomy haze
But i'm fine, I'm fine

I can remember everything
Songs, I have sung in violence, pierce as they sting
But I'm fine, I'm fine
Daggers and tarts shatter my heart
You said you loved me from the start
So I'm fine, just fine

Stuck in a circle, the wheels keep on spinning
I hear the laughter, they think their winning
But I'm fine, I'm fine
I only bend, i cannot break
Your presence guides me through all my mistakes
So, I'm fine, I'm fine
You draw the line into the sand
I have been rescued by more than mere man
So I'm fine, I'm fine

Fire that burns all my defenses
I can no longer hold on to pretenses
I’m fine, I’m fine
You can see through to the depths of me
I can see that you are setting me free
So, I'm fine, just fine!

cockroach

From the corner of my eyes
I snuck a peak,
You always like to play hide and seek.
With a quick overview
I watched you scatter,
Attempting to make you splatter.
With irrational responses, I declared your demise
But the attempts were futile, because of your size
With you in the room
It was stealing my joy
I broke a glass jar and even a child's toy
But you came down from that wall
And very soon I watched you fall
Funny, you were right under my feet
That is where I announced your defeat!
You were hard to kill
But into the carpet your guts did spill
Overwhelmed with triumph, radiating from my face
A worthless cockroach has no residence in this place!

your love is making me whole

Your love is making me whole

It's hard to be awake when everyone you know is asleep
Mindless herds of sheep, walking into the deep
It's hard to continue to stand
When I have fallen into quicksand

I'm in a foreign land
Please take hold of my hand
It's hard to comprehend
When there is so much I don't understand
I need you to help me stand
Reassure me the end is grand

The lies are being exposed
The waters have found this rose
The questions have been silenced
The storms invoked a holy violence
Inside this weary soul
Your love is making me whole
Your love is making me whole
Inside this weary soul.

It's hard to speak the truth
When I've been suffocating since my youth
It's hard to write These words
When the tests have been absurd
It's hard to launch out into the night
When the fight is part of my plight
It's time to recover my glory
No longer in the same old story

The lies are being exposed
The waters have found this rose
The questions have been silenced
The storms invoked a holy violence
Inside this weary soul
Your love is making me whole
Your love is making me whole.

Demon Possession

Demon possession is on the rise
Because so many people are believing the enemies lies
He loves to dress in disguise
Seducing his victims until their demise
He creeps into families when there is no order
Then cleverly steals your sons and daughters
He feeds on wounds that were left without care
Before you know it your true identity isn't there
He comes to those parties, dressed with a name
And slowly injects you with all of his shame
He eats away at anyone with purpose
One Day you wake up and your life is a circus
But there is nothing funny about the show
Every night of the performance the tears drastically flow
Spiritual cataracts and scales form on your eyes
Your spirit man becomes vexed and it quietly dies
The trauma and tragedies play on repeat
The only remedy is a love that made death obsolete
He destroyed every curse with the cross of redemption
He is the only one who can change your perception
There is no one too far gone that he can't reach
Even if you have felt that your life has been breached
If you open your heart to Jesus you will find
He is the only one who can give you true peace of mind!

Stand

Stand when you don't understand,
Take hold of the master's hand.
Stand when the season feels dry,
And you don't know why.
Stand when you have doubts
And inside you want to scream and shout.
Stand when the waves crash ashore,
And you feel like you can't take much more.
Stand when you have so much to say,
But it leads to you feeling dismayed.
Stand! Just stand
Take hold of the master's hand
For in due season
You will see his majestic plan
Stand!

Pay Attention

There must be misconception with all this
Perpetual deception.
There must be a new order
Stealing all our sons and daughters.
There must be a definitive line
Separating that which shines.
There must be a wave of confusion
Most of what we see is an optical illusion.
There must be someone teaching
But all I hear is false preaching.
There must be storms in the air
But no one seems to care.
There must be great dissatisfaction
Keeping most filled with distractions.
But…There must be a fresh sound
Delivering those who are bound.
There must be healing rain
Because all of this cannot be in vain.
There must be a shift in direction
It's time for a personal resurrection.
There must be another dimension
To arrest our spiritual attention.
Stop, pause, open up your ears
You are constantly being pumped with irrational fears
Wake, arise, uncover your eyes
For too long you have been hypnotized.
Breathe, exhale, You will not fail
You're the head and not the tail
You're the head and not the tail.

Reflection

Reflection

Roots buried deep,
Deep within my soul
Destruction their only mission
Refusing to let me go.
Seeds planted on
 playgrounds and
Other life affairs,
Their suffocating lies replacing my clear air.
Mirror mirror on the wall
My enemy and greatest fall.
Weights that pull me down
My thoughts are a merry-go-round.
Words used as weapons
Cut me to the core
Even years later I cannot decipher truth anymore.
With frail bones and a bruised heart
My deepest struggle tares me apart.
Who will listen as I drown?
These murky waters have no sound.
Who can hear beneath each tear?
With smokey lenses nothing is clear.
But I remember what you said
This is why you hung and bled.
In my weakness, I am made strong
This road I’ve traveled, you’ve walked along.
In this poverty, I am made rich
You pick me up right out of this ditch.
Every strip makes all things new
You do what only love can do.
You do what only love can do.

Time Is Breached

A thirst for truth in an ocean of lies,
A painting, replicated
Their typical guise.
The appearance of good
Peel back each layer,
Morality submerged, as it all becomes grayer.

Time is breached!
Are you listening or just hearing?
Time is breached!
Are you the one steering?
Time is breached!
Can anyone tell?
All their subtle songs send us all straight to hell.

We are all trained to accept what we so desperately fear,
We learn to take lightly what we once held dear
Their darkness is tinted with a neon glow
Attracting their victims
While erasing them…. slow
The chill of mid-winter
In the middle of spring
No amount of shelter can warm up the destruction they bring.
The illusion may vary
But the price is the same
No one gets out of escaping this game.

Time is breached!
Are you listening or just hearing?
Time is breached!
Are you the one steering?
Time is breached!
Can anyone tell?
All their subtle songs send us all straight to hell.

Roads To Somewhere

The weight of the world on her shoulders
Memories frayed, makes her grow colder
Who is this girl to try and have better?
All her life paying out to her debtors.
Can’t she just see that there is still purpose
Most passed her by, cannot scratch the surface.
Is it just fate or a matter of believing?
With a smile on her face, she prolongs the healing.

Six different roads will lead to the same place
Most of her journey, subjected and displaced
How far is heaven when you can’t stand on two feet
The rhythm of war aligns with each heartbeat.

She pushes down her flaring hot temper
Afraid they will all eventually reject her
All she can see is herself getting older
Questions her life, should she be bolder?
Is it a deficiency that keeps her quite frail?
Did she miss out? Or has that shipped sailed?
Her fears are the trigger
The truth is the gun
The evidence unclear so she repeatedly runs.

Six different roads will lead to the same place
Most of her journey, subjected and displaced
How far is heaven when you can’t stand on two feet
The rhythm of war aligns with each heartbeat.

When I Am Alone

I know where I stand
But I stand alone
I know where I have been
But I have been their alone
I know where I have fallen
But I have fallen all alone
I know where I’ve been wrong
And I’ve been wrong alone.
Whisper to me
On those nights of despair
Move in me
When no one is there
Breathe on me
When I am down in this pit
For I know,
Yes, I know
This isn’t it.
I know where I have dreamt
I have dreamt those dreams alone
I know when I was strong
I was strong all alone
I know where I was right
I was right to stay alone
I know where I have feared
I have feared these things alone
Whisper to me
On those nights of despair
Move in me
When no one is there
Breathe on me
When I am down in the pit
For I know,
Yes,I know
This isn’t it.
I know where I have rehashed
I rehashed these things alone
I know where I was built
I was built their all alone
I know when I have lied
I have lied their alone
I know when I was judged
I was judged their alone.
Whisper to me
On those nights of despair
Move in me
When no one is there
Breathe on me
When I am down in this pit
For I know,
Yes, I know
This isn’t it.

Beautiful Souls

Why do all the beautiful souls go, go away
Why do all the beautiful souls fight the urge to stay?
Why do all the beautiful souls find it hard to play a part?
Why do all the beautiful souls bleed within their hearts?

This world wasn’t made for me
This world wasn’t made for me
I can honestly say with all that’s come my way
This world wasn’t made for me.

Why do all the beautiful souls cry beneath their skin?
Why do the beautiful souls find it hard to win?
Why do all the beautiful souls dress in shades of blue?
Why do all the beautiful souls resemble souls like you?

Because this world wasn’t made for me
This world wasn’t made for me
I can honestly say with all that’s come my way
This world wasn’t made for me.

Why? Please tell me why
Why? somebody tell me why
Yes why, it’s always why
Do all the beautiful souls go unnoticed?
Until their gone!

The Fight

I’m suffocating in here
I’m the one I have to fear.
Broken glass pierces through the soles of my feet
Yet somehow I can’t accept defeat.
Someone call the surgeon
The surgeon to my soul.
I feel like I’m about to fall
I feel like I’m about to fall!
Someone call the FBI
I have a case that’s files are miles high
Photos of the suspects keep flashing through my mind
Day and night…night and day
Why can’t anyone seem to find
The murder weapon
It’s my heart
It’s been violated all the pieces
And every part
The anesthesia just wore off and I’m in excruciating pain
Look at all I loss…was it all in vain?
I’m vexed with questions I’m frozen with lies
I walk a road with my hands tied
Gasping for air
But you’re not there
Gasping for air
But you don’t care!
Faint smells of metal linger on my tongue
I was so young
We were too young!
The sun blisters my skin
Exposing the poison that dwells with in.
Regenerated but still a degenerate
Born again but still being born
Forgiven but still forgiving
Fighting but still in the fight.
Galaxies of possibilities swirl in the wind
How did I get here again?
Have I lost the will to win?
