Hopes, fears, dreams, hurts, and desires
Are all felt in heartfelt fires;
The dreams of tomorrow, the happiness, the sorrows
The fear of loving, the fear of living day to day
All are feelings, felt by all.
Touching you, feeling you, and having the need, to hold on forever
Loving, doubting, and fearing, the process are potent combinations for disaster;
Want to throw out the hurts, want to toss away the fear-
Want to embrace the remaining years with arms stretched wide open.
Embracing life, love, and all the fears
Throw caution to the wind- and began to live- for today-
But, for one to put away the sorrows of tomorrow, to enjoy what comes with heartfelt fires-
One will need to cope with these - heartfelt desires -
I’m hopelessly shy
I’m too shy to talk
I can’t even say hi
I turn the other way and walk
I’m sitting here dreaming
Can’t get you out of my head
Thoughts of you are streaming
Why’s my face turning red?
When I hear your voice
I think angels rejoice
I could hear you talk for years
Your voice is music to my ears
I could watch you forever
I can’t get enough of the view
I’ve had enough of this weather
But never enough of you
I’m singing corny songs in my head
I think about all the words you’ve said
I think about your hair and beard and such
Now I’m thinking way too much
I wouldn’t know what to do
If you ever found out the truth
I’m writing poems about you
And you literally have no clue
One sided love never feels good
I always care more than I should
I’m hopelessly shy, will this ever end?
Will we ever be more than friends?
Beauty clearly dims, excess fears grow,
Yet your love glows constantly in me.
Its goodness my heart each day will know,
So your tender care becomes my plea.
Life means nothing, only prayer’s quest,
It’s your love that grants life true meaning.
Sadness ebbs swiftly, as hearts attest,
On your sweet love, my soul is leaning.
Read slowly to unwrap very well—
Then you’ll hear love’s true voice speaking loud.
Deep in the heart its pure feelings dwell;
Its diction can even make foes proud.
Just know lovers make new odd pledges,
None too heavy for their souls to keep.
Don’t ever be a doubting Thomas—
Sow love in my heart, and joy you’ll reap.
Have you not wondered why we close the door,
Why silence wraps the ones we used to crave?
Not out of spite, or pride, or keeping score
But just to stop the heart from being brave.
For if I see your name, I start to reach,
My fingers trace the hope I try to hide.
An anxious heart, no logic it can teach,
It runs toward fire, even as it’s fried.
The photos, texts, each one a quiet plea,
A ghost that holds me fast in aching place.
So blocking you sets wounded spirit free,
Not hate, but love that knows it must give space.
I do not block because I wish you pain,
I block because I won’t survive the strain.

To win her whole heart was my sole goal,
In summer, I tanned just for her soul.
I sunbathed at Lagos Beach,
A Black there to woo a peach,
My face is now blacker than charcoal.
What were the chances?
Even if just one percent,
I would redo the calculations,
Till my body turns to ashes.
The times we spent together—
Were the ones that made me fall in love with existance, with you.
Even when we're not on good terms,
If the universe gave me another chance,
I would.
However things aren't the same,
Like seasons,
The summer left and winter arrived—
The cold breeze was enough to make me realize.
Your smile—
Echoed in my brain like a prayer,
Rewriting the mistakes I did,
Making it easier to breathe.
Love of my life, you were.
If asked now—you are.
Same spirit different bodies—
We were nature's beauty,
Now ruined by human desire.
Fate turned her back on me—
And you, followed the light.

Inspired by The Beatles' song
"I want to hold your hand"
.......................
A lot still in my mind to say,
For you to understand, I pray.
See! Close to you I firmly stand,
But first, "I want to hold your hand".
As I pour out what’s in my mind,
Please let our hearts become aligned.
Let words flow with joy and with glee.
Say it out loud: you'll allow me.
My
dear wife,
heart of hearts,
there, your love lives.
In peace and with grace.
Come rainfall, come sunshine,
like moon and stars in the clouds.
Nothing else can replace your love.
For heavens, for earth, I'll still love you.
I pray that God will guide, guard, and keep us.
Let's flee from things that can keep us apart.
With God on our sides, we'll overcome.
Let's get involved with our full minds,
such that our hearts can love more.
Since hearts are meant for love,
we won't stop our love.
God on our side.
Till the end,
with love,
dear.
Open your heart
Listen to my knocks on its door.
Open your heart
So that our real love can start,
And it can flow into your core.
Give me the chance to love you more.
Open your heart.
Written as a Rondelet: A French form of poetry.
Heal and transform my life
Let our love catch fire~
Since it knows no ends,
Holds no place for dispute~
Just a bright, sparkling start.
Your love dispels all strife,
So your love I admire.
On it, my soul depends;
In hearts it takes root,
Its goodness sets it apart.
Time to profit is rife,
Your love and care inspire~
All known bounds they transcend,
And all weathers they suit—
No longer can they depart.
I was helpless,
I was shining.
You were knowing.
and bestowing.
When my steps were unsteady,
you held my hand.
You were ready.
Age is just a number, you said
grinning broadly like a
little girl repeating a loving fib.
You wanted a protector,
a guardian of devotion.
But I am not your Paul Bunyan,
the mighty timberman in your dreams.
In my twilight, I remember so many
mighty forests burning to cinder.
Frailty disintegrates the will.
Big-strong-protecting-men wilt with age.
They offer their pleading eyes,
longing to be cradled.
Maturity is mortality ticking.
I was helpless,
I was shining.
You were knowing,
and bestowing.
When my steps were unsteady,
you held my hand.
I'd love to listen, passion sung,
Words warmly from your tongue.
Oh the time, when beauty chimes,
And my heart is firmly strung.
Rhymes adopt a new confession,
Although those lines are fleeting.
We'll score the meeting, hearts loudly beating,
Love born where friendship's sprung.
