Premium Member Republicans Have No Charisma

  	        They have zero charisma
                   Republicans give off no sparks
                Richard Nixon, so woeful wooden
He was carved from Noah’s Ark

Ike and Mamie, a pair so excruciatingly dull
                   They spelled ‘live action’ – L U L L
And next to JFK’s wife, Jacqeline
                    Mamie was a dime-store mannequin

Fess up, GOP, you’re a party of Mitch McConnells
Liven up, like that Democrat clown ~ Ronald McDonald

Archie Bunker's Rants

Yesterday, we sat and watched
A sitcom on TV
From early in the 70’s,
But what was strange to me

Was hearing Archie Bunker’s rants
About the U.S.A.
And things that he was saying
Echoed words I hear today.

He argued with his son-in-law
About the government,
Defending Richard Nixon
To his daughter’s discontent.

That show reflects some current themes
But somehow in the past,
It made us laugh; those same thoughts
Uttered now leave us aghast.

Premium Member Summer of Discontent Reprised

   Americans were shocked and stunned
     ‘Reason’ abandoned, injustice had won

On Sept. 8, 1974, when President Ford exited the stage
The Republican right was left in fistic rage

While the Democrat left was aghast, How could Ford do this
The scales of justice, now so sorely amiss

To pardon a President, guilty in every possible way
of undermining the law and his opponent just didn’t play

It cost Ford the next election, ‘cos Richard Nixon he’d pardoned
Voters’ adverse reaction over two years so hardened

They elected an unknown, a neophyte named Carter
next to whom the Ayatollah Khomeini looked smarter

Yet the country moved on, hindsight thanked Ford
~ That Biden pardon Trump ~ start petitioning the Lord

THE PRODUCT OF GEN X

I am from a generation they call X
Not because it marks the spot
But because it marks the best
We are eccentric because we walked the moon
And because we shared lust as an essential need
But wait until you meet your resurfaced acknowledgement
A frantic existence you call Technology
Generation X from 1965 to 1980
Where Charles Manson, the flower childe
Meets the notorious Ted Bundy
Richard Nixon and watergate, who actually knew
That this was an era of being a shrew
The birth of individuality
Known for practicalities
Known for informalities
The ghosts of the Vietnam War
Known for diversities
The civil technicalities
Henceforth, a generation of creation is no more.

Premium Member Tricky Dicky

Richard Nixon was the president’s name
It was Watergate that brought him shame
They wanted to impeach him, the F.B.I.
But he resigned before they could try.

Brave President Gerald Ford
  pardoned Richard Nixon

was impaled on the electorate's sword

Richard Nixon
Was full of tricks then

   Watergate's quicksand

Premium Member Name Dropper

Richard Nixon was quite slick
Most just called him tricky dick

 Ford pardoned him very quick

May Versus Trump

Richard Nixon could not tell the truth
George Washington could not tell a lie
Donald Trump can not tell the difference
