The Child Within

I cry for the child
who has died within me

I worked ruthlessly for a future
I now spit at in distaste of its name

Friends sneaking away slowly
in hopes of not ribbing from my heart in their departure

Children growing old never knowing it was I
holding on to their youth, in hopes of staying a little while longer

The loss of childhood is a great heartbreak
It's the death of a child, it's the loss of frivolous life

The Grass

HER. I almost forgot. The lawn looked dry.
HIM. What lawn?
HER. Ours. I noticed while I was waiting for you tonight...in the car.
HIM.I wish you wouldn't do that. Baumgartner is always ribbing me about it.
HER. Wish I wouldn’t do what?
HIM. Wait in the car until we leave.
HER. Joey Baumgartner should mind his business.
HIM. The sprinklers have a schedule. You have to admit it's a little nutty.
HER. Sitting in my own car, in my own driveway, in front of my own house. I wouldn’t need to if you were on time.
HIM. I’m not that late.
HER. You're always late. You should water the grass when we get home.
HIM. It'll be close to ten when we get home. Besides it's not good for it.
HER. What? It's grass.
HIM. It gets mold if you water at night.
HER. So? It's grass.
HIM. All the experts say it's bad for the grass.
HER. Well, my experts say it's good for the water bill.
HIM. Fine. I'll water the grass.

Curriculum Vitae

I’m a servant of the universe
My rank is junior minder.
I care for the solar system
As its oiler and winder.
Everything is done
To a very strict rota,
Checking every cog
And cleaning every motor.
The star has its thermostat
Rigidly checked and set
Its fuel delivery schedule
Very rigorously met.
Each planet has its key
Kept on its own ring
So I can check and fix
Each internal spring:
Wind it too tight,
The planet runs fast.
Not tight enough
The wind won’t last.
I once got it wrong
In my apprentice stage,
Wiped out the dinosaurs
And caused an ice age.
You can imagine all the ribbing
At the staff centennial dinner
Apprentice of the moment?
Never was the winner.
I have my own staff now
The systems work just fine.
Guess it should last right
‘Til the end of time.

Premium Member Santa On Zoom

This year Santa's requests come by Zoom
And a flat-chested Miss full of gloom
She asked 'please do your best'
I'd love a double D breast
He obliged and she's now in full bloom..

Another asked for a new nose
'Cause the one I’ve got just grows and grows
Truly I am not fibbing
And I take so much ribbing
You should hear the din when it blows.

Santa soon became really depressed
He'd had so many awkward requests
He felt so fool of doom
He got rid of his Zoom
And concluded a letter is best.

Baldness For Beginners

What do you do if you lose a leg
Put on an artificial one instead
And if your eye sight needs improving
Glasses are the thing to get them moving

But alas if your hair is what’s missing
Wearing a toupee will get you some ribbing
So there seems no hope for a nude nut living
Except shaving it all without apologies or forgiving.

Premium Member The Man Who Thought He Was a Clown

once upon a Time-
I knew a man who was a joker-
a funnyman a jester
a real buffoon

joking all the time

a wisecracking prankster
teasing and mocking everyone
a jester clown
he befuddled us with nonsense
always

even when it was a no-fun matter

a comedian
a comic actor
all the time
the cockamamie funnyman entertaining

with madness and insanity(I think)
his
constant ribbing
a comic mask meant to discombobulate

the jesting funnyman on
all
the
time with his gobbledygook

it got quite annoying to me(anyways)
    because not everything in
Life is funny-
                       there is a time
    and place for everything . . .

One Heck of a Hullabaloo

One Heck of a Hullabaloo

May be many things I know about our nation,
But why so much defamation and degradation
Infiltrating and cutting others down to ground
So they can hear another negative sound.

You might be big performer and an enactor
Why be out of your own and lack character
Become an obstacle have heard some say
Ribbing people wrong getting in their way.

We should be yelling our respect out loud
By God with unalienable rights are endowed
What we must do is proudly pray each day
And God all our sins will start washing away.

One last thing of we want you to take note
Are a democracy so you can go out and vote
May be marvelous looking woman or mum men
You have right to vote is what God did intend.

Amen to that both brother and sister;
If Army be sure to enlist him or her.

Premium Member Ode To the Ump

Watch him there behind the plate
The guy referred to as "blue"
"Hey blue, you must be blind!
How could you call that ball strike two?"

He takes the ribbing all in stride
Been doing this for many years
Loves the game, the fans, the kids
Lots of fun and yes, sometimes tears

To soon the season will be over and done
But next year the kids will come to play
The ump will smile and call "batter up!"
He'll be having fun just like he is today….

My husband has been a Little League
Umpire of many years. He loves it!

Superman

My dad told me when he was young
And fit as fit could be
As the best Saharan lumberjack
He cut down every tree

He rode a wild dinosaur
From York to Timbuctu
He took it back to London
And put it in the Zoo

Then later on in World War two
The German horde he beat
With just his trusty penknife
He forced them to retreat

He’s swam the Indian ocean
Ate crocodiles for tea
Paddled up Niagara falls
And still got home by three

I relate my fathers exploits
Friends give me such a ribbing
They say his tales are tall ones
And that my dad is fibbing

But I know my dads not lying
There is no way he can
I know my dads not fibbing
He’s a real life superman

D.O.R.K.Spells a Little Awkwardness Never Hurt Anybody

It is easy to pick on the D.O.R.K.
or the dweeb of society
who is clumsy and meek
stuttering most of the time in his life
Rather spends time with his parents than the social clique
One who actually takes time to photograph THE BIRDS
BEES
SIMPLE LIFE IN CONTINUOUS MOTION
THE LAW
and so on..
Just because he is curious about THINGS that most would not care about
does not make him a GEEK
SIMPLETON
N'ER DO WELL
or other pleasant names taken to consideration
This Bloke is a human being and not just a ribbing for your kind little joke
Life was not meant to be the same for every one born upon this place
Deformaties are not people to be laughed at or scorn
they may be awkward and slightly out of perfectionism and beauty
Remember that and maybe the world can be a little more beautiful
