Spring is here to stay
For three months, hooray!
More bluebirds are chanting
More tulips are blooming
More trees are growing
And dusts are in the air.
The weather is cool, not cold
More houses are being sold
More joggers run in the streets
More retirees are warming the seats
More athletes are at their meets
And allergies are in the air.
Spring is here to stay
For a quarter of the year, hooray!

Maunakea comes
into view. Coastlines
from right side windows.
Hilo, my hometown.
Soon we’ll be landing.
I feel the plane
stop and cargo
door with luggage
bumps hold, thumps ramp.
Passengers
and crew says
Aloha.
Flowered
crowned lei.
FRUITS!

Lee Retiree, 66 Remix
Never one to be lazy,
Lee’s energy astonishes,
Clarity hallmark avoids the hazy,
Kristie et. al. he garnishes,
Materials investigator a la Dick Tracy,
Friends, Lee never tarnishes,
Quick stick moves as a Blue Jay,
Loyalty, he harnesses,
Learned from all at Poly,
Save the nobility (Kedusha),
Of the morning (Youthfully),
For some, retiree harshness,
An evening, but we wish Lee’s a dawning Be!

The time on the hands of the clock
It's all yours now, every tick-tock
Wisely you may use it
Or even abuse it ~
But you cannot choose to refuse it

Who had gone to the Headquarters
With my real age and a wagging tongue?
Who at The Board pounded me with mortars
From a determined snitching lung?
I guess a fellow while still standing
Didn’t aromatic gossip mind
In the area of Image Rebranding
A trusted helper of cops to a crook find!
Though, I could’ve sworn
Some fluffy cushion was the chap offered
For the journey that should have one worn,
Signaling that an honor had been conferred.
And there his fee was cleanly settled
For Good Flesh and Bones en-route rattled!

don't love too much; don't love too deep
affection must be yours to keep
for when you give yourself away
you can't go back to yesterday
secure the fortress of your heart
keep drawbridge up and hide the chart
don't let the path to soul be known
there's no return once it's been shown
be sparing with your proffered love
or you will wail to sky above
for some will take and never give
that's not a way a life to live
give out in measure what you get
some limits are what you must set,
for I have found when I give all,
I set myself to take a fall
it hurts my soul to very core
when I am left here wanting more
the love I give must equal be
the love that others give to me
so this advice take to your heart
if you don't wish to fall apart
your love keep safe: a treasure store
give to the ones there at your door
don't love too much; don't love too deep
or you will cause your soul to weep
love's at its best when it's returned
when for its comfort, heart has yearned
this sage advice comes at a price
my heart was once a sacrifice
but what I've learned, I give for free
my name, you ask? Love's Retiree!

Envy The Retiree
Gmorning, old friend! Lucky you, you've made it safely....
Hale and healthy to greet each morning sunrise...
You now can take your own sweet time to savour precious time..
Unlike the majority of us here who are still hard pressed for time...
You've been there, the ever constant reminder to be on time,...
The enormous amount of work to be done that never seem to end...
The numerous reports that has to be prepared and readied on time...
Heavens, just to comment on the dog lives of we who are still working...
It is enough to stress me up and get my blood pressure rising...
And all this groaning and moaning do not help us who are still slogging...
Hey, somebody please bank in 2.6billion in our accounts please...
We can all stop working and live out a life of leisure as we please..!
Footnote....
A high public official was found to have 2.6 billions in his bank account...

A NOTE FROM THE WIFE OF A RETIREE
I couldn't buy you a Valentine's card 'cause we're always together;
whether in pouring rain or in freezing snow or ANY kind of weather.
You're with me on our "one day trips", or lunch time at the mall,
or overnight in A/C (THAT we love most of all).
You're right there at my doctor visits, or when I do my hair,
or when we visit the kids or folks-- Yep, you are ALWAYS there.
So now you know my dilemma, but my meaning isn't hard:
I'd rather be right by you , then buy you a silly card!
