The Ability to Resist What the Wind Cannot

It happens that I am perturbed/

by the way the trees bend to match the/

curvature of the earth/

child-like fingers that haven't yet learnt to be gentle/

pushing them like blades of grass/

hoping they don't crack beneath the weight of innocence/

the long-dead philosophers might turn over/

in their graves/

a reminder of all that has lived and died/

and knowledge that is nothing compared to the insurmountable belief/

that everyone has the capability to love/

will seep into the dark soil around rotted wood/

and make the worms and spiders writhe/

in uncomfortable tension/

because what is nature without pain/

and what is pain without a means to share it/

I am a poet/

my soul dwells in the/

essence of discovering the unknown and/

being more than just a name on a/

paper no one will ever find/

as the aromatic scent of summer dirt beneath/

clean fingernails and the sound of/

a wind resembling a heartbeat/

live and thrive inside this shell that holds my being/

the same wind inside me that forces the trees to obey/

pounds against my skull/

yet somehow:

I do not bend.

Premium Member Don't Resist

Some things don't make sense and we may never understand
Then emotions are held behind a fence
with beauty across this gifted land
There are questions, concerns that exist
No ridding of them as we try
Through it all, beauty stays so don't resist
Every one of us has the freedom of choice
It is the precedence for days ahead
Any day, you can awaken to rejoice
Jump, dance, play and live where evil fled!

Premium Member With Others, I Will Resist

When your lies tell me one story
But my eyes tell me another
About the murder of Renee, my sister
And the execution of Alex, my brother
You raise me up to my feet
You end my silent protest
You cause my shouts to repeat
“With others, I will resist”.

When you threaten countries, we call Allies
Kidnap leaders to gain their riches
End regulations meant to protect us
Call female journalists, “mean b!tches”
You deserve not an ounce of respect
No matter how much you whine and insist
Every action you perform is suspect,
With others, I will resist.

Many started when you mocked the handicap
Others joined when you bragged about what you grab
There already was a long list of lawsuits
From those who you refused to pay your tab
I knew you were a con man from the start
But was sure the votes would end your quest
To be wrong absolutely broke my heart,
Now, with others, I will resist.

Premium Member STRIKE

The pictures we see are alarming
American soldiers in masks
Attacking and beating the People
doing all that Trump orders and asks

Every person ignoring the violence
who believes they are safe and secure
Will regret that they all shrugged their shoulders
just because their own freedom was sure

When their neighbors begin disappearing
they no longer see some of their friends
When the chaos arrives at their doorstep
and the safety they felt quickly ends

It will then be too late for a protest
all the lies will have taken a toll
And the coup that the Trumper is leading
will be in its last stage of control

It will never be won without conflict
opposition is always the key
It arrives when the people join forces
because freedom is never for free

It is time to turn off all the faucets
call for strikes, stop the money machine
Because all that they want are your taxes
all that they crave is the green

We, the People, have all of the power
everyone holds a purse in their hand
And if we call for strikes, and stop working
we will rule on this sweet freedom land

I start the day with a simple hello

I can see he’s ignoring it, though

Good intentions but now I’m low

He’s always gonna resist

I make a request to stop by

But he’s too private of a guy

I hang my head low and sigh

He’s always gonna resist

These conversations feel so hollow

We once were deep, but now shallow

Now I’m off to cry and wallow

He’s always gonna resist

I must not ask for a date

I won’t get one at this rate

It must be my fate to wait

He’s always gonna resist

Independence is all he will seek

True feelings he will never speak

This situation looks mighty bleak

He’s always gonna resist

I want to show how I care

But I know I mustn’t dare

For he is one to easily scare

He’s always gonna resist

Too Beautiful to Resist

I wandered through the quiet wood,
Where twilight’s hush was laid—
A single rose with petals spun
In veils of silken shade.

Its beauty called with voice so soft,
A tremor in the air—
A melody that sought my soul,
Too sweet for me to bear.

I felt my heart a tender leaf
In evening’s gentle song—
And all the dreams I never dared
Seemed suddenly less wrong.

Its blush was like a secret flame
That flickered in my breast,
A warmth too beautiful to hold,
Too gentle to resist.

So there I stood with quiet breath,
While dusk drew close around—
A single rose, a single soul,
No other sound nor bound.

O Beauty, deep and infinite,
Your voice I can’t dismiss—
I yield my heart to tender night,
Too beautiful to resist.

Nobody Can Resist A Charmer

Attractive lady with long shining hair,
nobody can resist such a charmer;
I bet you turn guys on to have fun,
and when danger comes, you run!

The one that promises the joys of Heaven
and make him walk slowly on rainless clouds
is a true deceiver who counts just to seven,
he's ready to give a handful of fake outs!

No man is prouder to show off his lady,
woe to her when she flirts with sweet eyes;
if nobody can resist a charmer that's sexy:
step outside and feel how my fist hurts.

Sensuous looks make you very desirable,
handsome men are full of vanity and drink wine;
if they make a pass, my rage is inevitable:
I'm aware of each move, don't touch what's mine!

So spin the heavy wheel, don't worry if it stops twice,
and spinning it makes all idiots bet much too hard:
I can lose, or even win some: I grab each winning dime,
risk all to gain more, look out for the clever bastard!

If nobody can resist a charmer with pretty eyes
he might as well challenge me to claim advantage;
winner or loser: blood dripping from cut cheeks
won't keep this guy from the fight and ditch revenge!

Mustn't Quit

Life is strange with twists and turn,
All we can do is fail and learn;
With little hope and scars that burn,
Don't just sit but make tables turn.

Things might go wrong, sometimes they will,
Come back strong when patience try you to kill;
Stick to the fight when the hardest hit,
Even things seems worst, you mustn't quit.

Never let yourself regret about,
That I might've lost, if I'd have stuck it out;
Failure is success turned inside out,
It all drains when you stop and doubt.

You gotta believe in yourself,
Gotta put all your doubts on shelf;
When it feels like you can't take it,
Be hard, be tough, but you mustn't quit.

Is this life full of care?
You have no time to stand and stare;
No time to wait for a chance,
No time to think about people's glance.

Don't give up when result seems low,
Cause great things take time to grow;
Hopes and pressure will down you a bit,
Resist, persist, but you mustn't quit.

Premium Member Do not resist

Do not resist, unclench your fist
Relinquish each desire
God is incharge; that is truth’s gist
With love set heart afire

Gentling touch, ego dies
The pure of heart then rise
Breath by breath in surprise

Feel God’s bliss mist
Do not resist

Premium Member Never Resist

Never resist me
It hurts me
Fragile I am
Don’t pretend
Not to love me
Distance apart
hidden from your view

Maybe
Just pretend
To choke on your ego
Make me happy

Stay grounded in all your pain
Don’t judge me
As I love you
Stay here and fight
Stay here
Remember
Our love

I’m here
I’m here for you
Don’t run away
Don’t run away
Stay here and realize - that it’s ok
Don’t run away
Don’t run away
Here me now

Premium Member Why Does Our Heart Resist

Why does our heart resist
soft murmurings of love,
holding promise of bliss,
bringing to us rapture,
that leaves nothing amiss?

Why does our heart resist
to forgive the wayward,
who are yet to awake
and narrowly judging,
burning love at the stake?

Why does our heart resist
not, cravings of ego,
that spawns desire and fear,
shrouding us in darkness,
stopping God to draw near?

Why does our heart resist
melding with the vast void,
that entwined thus with space,
childlike heart may imbibe,
outpourings of God’s grace?

I Resist

Even a microscopic virus petrifies me.
I resist this latest design of death
with mask and sanitizer.

I withstand the horny words
that gore me.

The waves of temptation pass through my veins:
I resist them like an elephant in chains.

A headstone of pain reminds me
of an aching past.
I resist my memory
smoldering as the dried dung.

I resist the reek
with the perfume of poetry.
My fresh thoughts strengthen my tires
like Kevlar.

Summer is sweltering.
I resist the drought like a camel.

Anxieties flood with the monsoon water.
I resist the lunatic weather.

Things to be resisted are plenty
in the pod of time.
‘To live is to resist.’
