The blissful ignorance of self-denial
as a means to self-awareness and inner meaning
denies the selfless bliss of
service and love for others.
To make less of self,
to cease selfish cravings and desires,
is more about striving to satisfy
the needs of others than to
blast away at what you think you need
to satisfy and satiate, your own inner selfish needs.
Self-denial is a dead-end fork
on the road to self-awareness.
For the blind cessation of self, if unrequited,
lets frustration break out
into unresolved blights and sores
that you alone cannot heal.
The path to less self-awareness
lies in unselfish selflessness
to others.

Framed in the moonlight -
you appear ethereal.
Quintessential, beyond reach.
I shine no brighter -
than your starlit gaze. I say...
'the light shall bend to our will'.

Tonight, the rains gush down upon my life,
Like shards of glass they cut through every vein.
Your footsteps, plodding heavily with strife,
Regretful puddles echoing your pain.
To walk away can be the hardest thing,
When there’s no love requited left to claim.
Though better than to die amidst the cling
To hope, my heart, for yours, will feel the same.
The passion swells, though muted by the grief,
And all the growing distance seems so wrong.
Then suddenly I’m cast into belief,
For you, I’d held affection all along.
If there was but one thing I’d wish to say,
My absent tongue would call to you, “Please stay!”

She lay there seduced
To a pile of ashes reduced
An all engulfing flame
He set her on fire
Through the night
Quenched her desire

Echoes hide on the waves, of the rippling pool Disturbing the reflections, as they cross one another As vanity slowly slips, into the deep, another lost duel The unrequited love, fuels a fire but not the hunger The streaming musical fades, into a dull black As one lonely voice, repeats your last word But things you uttered cannot be called back For what was meant to be said, was never heard Based on the Echo (mythology)

Unto your heart I bequeath my being
A thousand deaths, I’d die for you
As your dear face is all I’m seeing
So, in my heart, I hold you true
The sun may die, no more eternal
The sky may one day bleed with rain
My heart, my love, it shows external
To keep you then, from facing pain
Alas, my worth is based on presence
To hold you close, such strength provides
To sense your being, absorb the essence
As I look deep within your eyes
Oh, see my heart that rages true
It dies alone, if not for you

Love is unconditional, but promises are not
When love is not requited such are promises, forgot
Vows deferred as if uncertain sounds of rhetoric
Seems times and seasons, rhymes and reasons were only shtick
Yet the desire deferred only proves a heart to be sick
A mind that is fainting in a soul that's lunatic
Losing hope of the joy set before in the beginning
Manifest language and deeds that touch with sinning
A sane man is now a man of Gadarenes dinning
A bewildered woman fearful, pressured, and chinning
Left him, reverse double standards, giving little
For blind love, great trust, a fool with no requital
Forgiving but not forgetting there's no aquittal
Once he understood, now she will just belittle
Whittle by whittle mind and heart, no longer hoodwink
Love, awry, uncovers overlooked faults and sins we prink
Forethink, count the full cost without haste, do not jink
Humiliation, love demanded's no love, doublethink
When promises are kept, human love wants its lot
For promises are conditional, but true love is not
