Premium MemberElegance In Flight

Shadow wings across the ground
glide along without a sound.
Beware young mouse in grassy field
your fate it seems has been sealed.

A predator has come on quest
and little ones await in a nest,
for sustenance to get them through
a tasty meal mom must accrue.

Nature’s given her nocturnal sight
to search the woodlands while in flight.
What she sees, will she share?
From above, secrets she’ll ensnare.

Minerva’s child knows nature’s ways
and with her they will always stay.
A winged specter of the skies
with talons of enormous size.

I heard her speak in alto voice
and I looked up, I had no choice.
A beauty in the orange moon’s light
I’ll not forget those radiant eyes.

The Rain Falls For the Sun To Shine

Where I live I've to keep the
melodies of my heart beating
to entertain my self
Life has found me here, in a
world of heartache and pains I
found myself.

To see a next version of me I
clown myself.
I saw one version of me is
seeking after righteousness
while the other version is in a
world of poverty seeking
wealth.

I like what mother nature
have to offer me but I don't
like where I dwell,
because when I recall
yesterday it was hell
even today we still in it as
well.

what make me chad the road
I once Chad,
is it because I grew up without
a dad?
I'm living in the system
that many get caught up in
and become a victim.
I don't know what my
inspirations would be like
without Martin lutor king.

I'm optimistic that tomorrow
will be a
Brighter day because
Life have thought me that the
rain falls for the sun to shine
the night dark for the day to
light,
so I sleep to be awake and
see my future bright

Premium MemberA Weathervane

a weathervane still
points east 'pon gray ancient barn...
fall's air rust tractors

the vain weathervane speaks east
and rust grows though no one knows

rusty John Deere sits
outside engine deep in grass...
bucks face off for fight

the leaves are falling
revealing the trees fractures
fall air thrust factors

crimson, gold, and red leaves fall
farm lake ~ mural of the scene

John Deere the artist
tractors in the grass like clouds
wearing the weather

Premium MemberOld Grist Mill

the old grist mill stands
nestled in the rocky bank
red fall leaves surreal

Vibrant blue sky glows stronger
Shadowing my dim life's light

red stained swift water
rushes onward to the sea...
slow decaying mill

vibrant life vacant
emotions rush, rapids flow
heart and zest soggy

The once spinning wheel silent
Red Birds watch an era leave

rocks wear smoothly slick
as time ticks a new way starts
cycling ways and days

Premium MemberMaple Leaf

maple leaf slowly
turns yellow reflects from creek..
lone curled leaf floats down

More leaves fall from the same tree
They dance carried on the wind

yellow maple leaf
lands upon a rounded stone...
fall's decoration

fierce winds whip the trees
and leaves blow across garden..
lawn of yellow leaves

Yellow reflected 'pon lake
Teardrop breaks placid surface

the whistling winds blow
the last cured leaf to the ground...
laughing children play

Premium MemberWaterfall Trickles

waterfall trickles
thawing ice releases drops..
moss 'pon rocks turns green

The frozen giant towers
Great mighty melting water

waterfall's moisture
seeps as spring awakes nature...
deer sups deep from stream

rain from mountain top
turns to mist as it comes down..
rainbow in my eyes

The bridal veil waterfall
Seen through Azaleas' blossoms

The morning day scents
Come blooming into my life
Melting waterfall

Endless Cycle of Rain

A rumble of thunder
roars throughout
the dark furious clouds.

At dusk, grey sheets pour from
the overly moistened southern sky.

From the mount's tip
to the green valley below
humid thirst is quenched.

The bolts' jagged streaks
of energized light
momentarily deny any shadows.

Dawn breaks to overflowing pools
of varying bluish hues.

An orange solar heat
extracts a gift of brew
from the soaked wet land.

Premium MemberAncient Tree

The base of a tree
Sits a great Jack-O-Lantern
Fear emits from within

The hollow nature of his eyes
Bring about a sense of death

The tree is ancient
It’s the oldest tree around
Time hasn’t been kind

The limbs are gnarled
Crooked as limbs can be
They sit very lifeless

Bats sit atop the lone tree
Waiting for some passerby

Light seems to dim
Whenever you near this tree
Evil lurks here

Premium MemberHeart of a Pumpkin

The light is on
In the heart of a pumpkin
The center is fresh

The middle carries a doom
Within its known creepiness

The beating nature
Of the inside’s confines
Flickers with a candle

The groveling heard
Increased with each footstep
A quirky smile given

The Jack-O-Lantern brings fear
To the people that pass by

No matter the pain
An individual my possess
It won’t compare to this

Russell Sivey

Premium MemberA Halloween Treat

During a full moon
The light shines eerily down
On a barren tree

The black cat roams through the night
Shows fear to all in its way

Ghosts float around tree
Wispy nature about them
Producing great fear

The glowing pumpkins
Beneath the old dying tree
Attract the cats near

The bats fly with the ravens
Near the straw enhanced scarecrow

All these creatures bring
About their creepy strange ways
A Halloween treat

Premium MemberSalty Nature

Water splashes
As it moves at night
The color lost

It takes on darkness
A discolored form

The salty nature
Of the dark seawater
Tastes horrid

The strong feel
That is lifted into place
The pursed lips

The silky sight of water
In the stark night air

It flows so smooth
Through the waves tonight
Pouring on itself

Russell Sivey

Run Away Together

Let's run away
let us go far together
let us leave the world

We will run to the mountain
there we will find billy goats

There living we'll be
with only Mother Nature
to be our neighbor

This is my dream forever
I can't wait till it happens.

Brilliant Beauty

Audrey Carey

Raw energy....
Her brilliant beauty rides the skies
Quick as the wink of an eye

Creating shadows, all exposed
Traveling thousands of miles in seconds

Bolts like tentacles
Designing patterns unique
Leaps, splits and burns indiscreet

No mercy she shows
To man, beast or plants
Sparks and smoke left in her trail

Moving forward wherever she wills
Destruction lies within her path

Man harvests her power
As he tames a beast
An extraordinary feat
