Reminiscences Poems

Premium MemberListen To The Wind

Listen closely to the wind's softest hum
It gently caresses and touches my hair,
Sweet scent of jasmine it brings from afar
Together with ambrosial fragrance of roses,
Every sense-bud in my body feels serene
Not a single feeling forgetfully untouched.

Tantalize my soul, hypnotize my heart
O soothing wind, you make me yearn for days gone by!

True emotions sway through reminiscences,
Heal pain and sadness magically, calm
Every chord of an aching hurting soul.

Wind, you whisper and murmur a tale so poignant
In harmony with a river's rippling sound,
Nostalgia envelopes my total existence
Dive with an ardour into retrospection.

Premium MemberYou were always on my mind

Why am I so lonely,
Why didn't I share love and time?
Why couldn't I make death wait longer?
You were always on my mind.

I would have shaped myself better,
Controlled my stubbornness and drive,
Listened to you, ignored conflicts,
You were always on my mind.

I would have reset my life's course,
Repenting past mistakes,
Heard your whispers of love so clear,
You were always on my mind.

Through days swiftly passing,
You were always on my mind,
In silent nights, your face appears,
A phantom of regret.

With tenderness, I'd hold you close,
Cherish each fleeting breath,
For every beat my heart has missed,
You were always on my mind.

Tease of a Lover

In a dream of bare, I awoke
In the blared walls, it misspoke
The winds of Auria eluded in the cascading windows which then provoked
Envisions of Auria descended through the glistening saint
Without a flair, I discerned a haint
Auria wandered in a stage of fright,
Meanwhile, invading my dreams of spite
Her nebulous words echoed in my mind
‘What a faint creature, so misled by fracture’
They mellowed as it prospected my perceptions
As she posited her hand on my exceptions
Envisions of Auria repulsed its regressions
She was my fate of progression
She rehashed my reflections
A memory of infliction
She wandered off into a glistening spade
Relinquishing her jades
I scrutinized her windows of glade
I lingered against her pallid hair
Then, woke up in tedious wear
‘Auria, a lady of fate, yet dart of spade’
Such assimilation wandered in the glistering gape
My thoughts were so heavy, yet so light, though seemed rather bright
They were my reminiscences of Auria”

"recently scenes of early life have stolen into my mind, like breezes blown ..."

Quote by _Samuel Taylor Coleridge (from his writings)

Buried deep in the coffin of my mind,
Memories of my youth; aged like fine wine.
I've got a few cherished ones to exhume!

I recall one chilly autumn noon running around the park
With the neighborhood kids, then I'd run indoors
To warm up when winds start to groan and whistle. Brrr!

Ah, the halcyon days of summer sitting in the shade
Wolfing down watermelons with my best friend, Lloyd,
Cheering on kids playing basketball in the backyard.

I remember one harsh winter sprinkling play sand
And rock salt on walkways with Dad before snowfall,
So snow won't stick to the ground. Fun times!

Reminiscences

Liquor some strange
   in cups so Pristine
I melted in sips
 Memories don't fade
and everything seems bland

 What pierces the soul
 Swallowed me as a whole
 Distance beyond miles
and some corner in the heart enervates

Emerged from shadows
  and swayed by winds
Speaking in sharp tone
   and looking so contrite
  I wince at pain
and played the same dolorous melody

Reflections from the heart
Eternally a part of my thoughts
Music whispering with passion
Inspiring my hope to grow
Never forgetting the dreams
Inside this soul who knows
Silence is the perfect time
Captivating the heart and mind
Encouraging the broken spirit
Nurturing the loving feelings
Casting off doubts and confusion
Eternally awaiting the glory
Sent to me by memory’s joy

I remember! I remember!
A visit of mine to the place
Where I was shaped;
And my skills were nurtured.
My unwritten registry flew back
To the exquisite moments.

I remember! I remember!
The day I walked along with my dad
And felt happy as if it was a lovely tour.
When he disclosed the bitter words
That I had to be there for a few years,
Tears welled out and formed clouds.
But I couldn’t say nay to him.

I remember! I remember!
I finished my schooling;
And it was the D-day,
I had to leave the golden threshold
Missing those boulders, trees, chirping birds and all...
Tears welled out...but differently.
It had given me enough;
And I could make out myself.
I remember! I remember!

REMINISCENCES

Two old friends chatting in fun and frolic
recollecting bygone days of cheerful carefree childhood
                       and both burst in laughter.
Remembering teen age romance of hesitant glances
once they swam and sank in abyss of ocean of love.
In last phase, sweet reminiscences to ruminate,
to roll on hazy tapestry of pleasant memories.
Past is glorious and old is gold, both friends agree in spree.

My Reminiscences

the Secret Cottage,
a forest trek where
sundown gently on
your face. Riverside
drifting.. the grasp seeds.
Forest game, heartbeat
of the wild nature,
inhuman natures
bloodstream chasing
the tormerting Faces.

Reminiscences

Do Thou carry some magic wand
Upon Thy invisible hand?
Which You wave and memories flood
Like myriad waves which sweep the sand.

A sweet sojourn before You flee
Dousing me with a joyous glee
Yet more often You leave me sad
My heart beset with grievous plea.

These turns you take with good and bad
Of what I shared and what I had,
All that lost in my halcyon days
Which leave me wiser but not glad.

Sometimes I wish that I would know
Whether You’re a friend or a foe?
Such thoughts play like the sea-waves do
With sands upon the gentle shore.

But I know not what I would do
As at times I have not a clue,
How to humour my passing days
Sans colours of your mystic hue.

Reminiscences

Counting the stars in the night sky,
aiming at heart to fly high,
different stages worth remembrance,
a flattering moment or a nuisance.

When grown old and white,
when eyes lack much light,
you will see with your soul,
every fixed and unfulfilled goal.

Move back to the time,
of sour grapes and sweet lime!
Memories never let go,
they will always flow...

Summer days, meals-a-plenty,

Mystical playmates gathering gently

their wares to return another day to

share again in magnified dreams of elegant castles,

Caught on unknown cliffs

with vast green expanses celebrating life,

play, intrigue, and fun!

Days fly, nights fly,

Everyday I try

to keep light touches of

Years gone by to amplify,

My present thoughts of why

these scenes are nigh;

Enshrouded in tulle-like coverings

projecting childhood images,

Leaving the mind clear,

focused on the unimaginable

of long winters leading to opulent springs!

Reminiscences

it was such a dark and lonely night
that no star in the sky nor the moon in the sight,
when he approached me and whispered in my ear
with the sound of slow and heavy beats of a heart

it was such strange and silent moment of the day
where no bird flies or twittering in the valley
nor the color of flowers seen in the plain,
when he held me in his arms to return to the beginning of time

it was a day of dead silence,
with no sunlight reflecting on the tree
nor a wind passing through the leaves,
when he left me after a long and deep sigh without a word

it was a dusk with full of a melancholic air,
the river did not flow in the gathering darkness
nor the waters surf to shore in the desolated beach by the sea,
when i gazed him from behind, the enervate image crumbling to fall
