Premium MemberShe Barely Recognized Herself

the person she was at eight a.m. did not recognize her three p.m. self
She had thrown away two or three “I will never's" that day
transmogrifying herself into a willing flexible chameleon
no one else noticed, which amused her slightly but lightly

Part of herself wanted to scream her new truth, but she was shy
Her muse took the helm and wrote about it, but who read it? No one.
Notice me! She was screaming silently from the inside
Self-absorbed, no one offered her time or attention.

Wait! Hope walked into the room, in the form of her old boyfriend, Roy.
He caught her eye, and then her hand. She felt like a fly trapped.
You are more beautiful than ever! He told her. His smile was crooked.
He looked delighted with her; she knew it was the alcohol speaking.

She had completely transmogrified herself since he left her.
Did not bother to share her changes though, he was clearly not interested.
She searched his face, wondering who he was seeing.
the person she was a few minutes ago, barely recognized herself.

Premium Membercat recognized spirit

Cat refused to enter my bedroom
He usually slept in here
Tried to coax him
He growled and stalked off, angry

I thought he was being silly
He was being sensitive
He knew something was off
I was up and down all night

My sleep was anything but restful
At 1:30 a.m. I felt like I was being watched
At 2:29 I retreated to the living room
And slept with the cat

Premium Memberrecognized Draconian Talk

I recognized the Draconian talk that day
A knowing without knowing how I knew
When the dragons faced me, I looked away
I was relieved seconds later, when off they flew

Premium Membershe recognized his despair

Flora recognized the brownie’s despair
His depression wafted and waved in the summer air
She herself had been the victim of some sad times
The cure was to volunteer for the March of dimes

You need to get outside of your sorrow and do some good.
When your heart expands, like it probably should…
You will stop wallowing and yelping and see better times.
Okay, he agreed, but does it always have to be the March of dimes?

No, volunteer to help an older person who cannot get around.
Bring up their canned jellies, jams and pickles from way underground.
Visit a day care center and offer to hold the babies who cannot sleep.
The object is to bring happy joy to your life, it is wisdom deep.

Premium MemberI Recognized Her on the Street

Her dreadlocks were familiar as was her patchouli smell
I recognized her folk music, understood it rather well
She brought back the seventies in the sweetest way
I was thrilled to stumble upon this guitarist today

She gave me a glance, and I saw gold in her eyes.
Something ethereal about her did not give me any surprise.
I thought of the youth who tried to change the world back then.
Her music was soulful and soft, a truly wonderful win.

I invited her to supper and learned her life story of course.
She had grown up in the country with six cows and a horse.
Her story was my own, but sadder by quite a little bit.
I hugged her good-bye, knowing she would not have a fit.

He Wore a Mask Not To Be Recognized

WE HEARD HIM SAY"
The Peolpe Will make him a DRAW!

"They read off names of
guys liklyto replace him
and he just sat thre like nothing was wrong.
muscle men
Rich men
Crafty cagey men
more atheletic men
Phyc gimmicky men

if he losses he'll
get booged and brawled
out wrested and pumpled
he'll stand tall and will cheat
and be seen as crafty until
he gets his bearings.
he'll redefind the term
Champion.
People shoul invite this guy
to there promotion and give him trophy's.
The day he loses the title
all those guys can stand
and claim him as
the World champion.
It's a two handled paddle it flips
to the handlers favor.
people will become legends by challenging him.
And he won't ever get the
recognition he deserves.
Trophy this guy up in the independents
and give wrestling fans there real champion!"

Premium MemberRecognized Her Instantly

recognized her instantly
from his dream work
she had no idea

pursued her until she could stand no more
she dumped him hard as coal goes down a chute

did not find each other for twelve years
she had her own soul dreams by now
they burned the sky up

Premium MemberImmediately Recognized Space Ancestors

Cosmic enthusiasm oozing at covert desert landing strip
We, Sedona's most aware, gathered in dream state,
Opening our minds in amazed glory.

Excitement mounts, as we begin to see our immediately recognized but never before met E.T. ancestors
who are returning to claim us as their most assertive by-products.

Ethereal night gliders, who have taken eon-years to return.
The hidden survivors of Atlantis hit the hidden landing lights
Sedona's secret airport returns to her former active state.

We, who have been led here in our dreams
Welcomed by our extraterrestrial sixth-fathers
Determined to take us to our forever home

I have never felt so delighted. My heart is racing in excitement!

Premium MemberA Fish Who Recognized Nirvana

A tiny fish in a polluted pond struggled to breathe.
She is suddenly scooped up with a batch of the stinky water.
It is poured off her, and she is plunked into a fresh water tank
With her friends, and plenty of sweet air, tunnels, bridges, and ferns.

She is amazed and excited; her prayers were answered.
Feeling badly for the rest of her family, all of whom are dying a stifling
Death in a pond that once was full of fresh cool spring water.

A pond that has been a dumping ground for a factory without
A conscious. The tiny fish begins making new friends,
Optimism revived, excited to live, knowing her parents will
Be thrilled for her also. Realizing how wonderful breathing is again.

Premium MemberThe Body Recognized

The Body Recognized

in brief..
we misidentify our bodies
by forms assumed over
our years..

experience reports the
images by which we
have contained and weighed
and gendered the body
for so long..

now we must ponder that
our time-space body
as it walks and talks
is quite narrowing of a
new dimensionless
recognition..
in brief...

Silent Poetry a Stealth Recognized By Us

we stand together
yet we fall apart
we are louder than thunder
but as quiet as the stars
we are silent poets
we are loud musicians
we are invisible to the eye
yet seen as outcasts
and as incommons
see us now as we write away

Secret Language Recognized By Us

we sit in shadows
but are seen in light,
we speak in riddles,
that language is beauty
divine by God
earthly by nature
spiritual by power
but reserved. unlit
we are apart
but when our
candles are lit
and the light
shines on our face
whe speak our words
we understand
we see
we hear
we feel.

by Jesse Kaler

my reasoning behind this poem is that art is a language that is seen, read, heard, and felt by people who are artists because you tap into the feelings that live in your heart because your heart has emotions that are different than the head and art is what shows them.

Recognized

Brought up in a peaceful world.
Far away from any kind of pain.
Never knew what teardrops felt like,
Unless it was the dark clouds' rain.

Never touched by the evil around.
Pure in every sense of the word.
The softest voice that you'd ever know,
You'd be surprised how many people heard.

Traveled the world spreading news,
Finally having a little taste of the real life.
Was loved, hated, and known by all,
Making a name that was to be recognized.

When I Recognized Myself

Put away inside
Told to stay alive
Lost in all but name
Nothing seems the same
Expected to survive
When life is so contrive
Alone at night and day
Taking part as slaves
We run we run we run
Only to end up
Put away inside
Put away inside
Put away inside
And our minds rot
And our minds clot
And our minds’ clock,
         stop

Recognized

Public language
And body talk reveal your
Personality.

True conversation
Reveals your hidden man's heart
Known here by your face.
