Our specter of Death---misunderstood
our illusion of Life---doubtful at best
differences between the 2 are negligible
their insistence is more than true.
Birth begets a note of beginning
impermanence sets the tone for leaving
born both of guilt and latent innocuousness
life--a promissory note of relaxed reticence
all 'isms collide, faith vs knowledge vs wisdom
whether a natural illiterate or college born.
we own our own posthumous poetic license
believing fool hardy beliefs to faulty commiserance.
Step back, take stride in the power of a No Self
remove all falsehoods-place wisdom on your shelf.

Premium Member Ask the Lonely

To bleed from memories that stab the mind
Of the times now passed that had born no fruit
The days and nights in a mirror unkind
Reflect the passion love did prostitute
As love was well-worn as a liar's coat
To warm the lonely heart in its wasteland
Where truth became a promissory note
To pay for needs of what love did demand
How small was the dream when a love decayed?
To fade on the horizon with love's end
And a feeling it all was a charade
That left no choice nor will ever defend
How lonely the soul that yearns to know love
Who will cling to its dream regardless of

The Hospital Bill

One foot by one foot
by six foot deep
the chemical waste
of a money pit
broke her parents
on the cost of health
one foot wide
one foot long
and six foot deep

A hundred nights of over time
a thousand tears of hope
reassurance spilled by garbage
with so many pretentious prognostics
gave her this
the cure within reach
and side effects may outweigh
all the potential benefits

One foot wide
and six feet deep
one foot long
in the chemical pit
broke her parents
for the price of health
for two years old
and meet the doctors bill

A medical inconsistency
and it’s death by radiology
life by sickness
incurable
curable
a promissory note
an I.O.U
glued to her tombstone

One foot by one foot
and six foot deep
and death by arrogance
death by a pin prick
and death in the end
by the ego
of so many doctors

Scales of Injustice

Unpaid wages over time did 400 kilotons accrue,
as lit fuse broken promises counter-clockwise grew
Lively resentment crouches mule heavy
on bent backs of the burdened weary
Next generation anger arise in poverty acres anew

Black burned the sun, moonlight shaded widow blue
Sleep is a dirt orphan trod on by the burying shoe
Deserved rest gets only paper hope nary —
Unpaid dead weight

Scales of injustice weigh stolen sweat revenue,
reparation debt is a promissory note long overdue
The yellow brick toil comes late shift early,
forced labor of bloodshot eyes be so work teary
Restitution patience is grave robber bad news —
Unpaid dead weight

Bouncing Check

Every human is a baby of a kind
Baby conceived is, a promissory note,
The one just born, an overdraft,
Adult baby, a bouncing check.
Old baby, a withering flower
Which one is perfect baby?

Stars Are Alike

Let's write a promissory note
Let's have a tryst once before death
We might not end up in same space
I might end up at separate place
For, stars are alike in all universe.

Old Age is that time of life,
When for all our years of youthful exuberance,
Our promissory note is stamped in red

My thoughts frequently fixate on things,
Camouflaged with fog due to time's floe.
Prior to aging slithering in and causing,
Treasured gratifications of my life to go.

Age has had its way of changing things,
Not for my betterment I forthwith say.
While my mind remains at a willing stage,
Health issues prohibit transit to that day.

Life has been, in a way, a promissory note,
A time and date for all things to come due,
My credit for song and dance is terminated,
Now, it's "pay the fiddler who played for you";

Promissory Note

A priceless dowry
my love I gave for you
a purchase
so costly
you would know
my love was true
from the very heavens
the bride price went out
that you my love
rest assured and never doubt
eternity by my side
you will remiain
all that is to be mine
and to share my reign
I have sought for you
from the very start
my perfect match
with a loyal heart
with joy received me
and learned about our ways
though the promise was made
in the earliest of days
my songs for you
are filled with gems to treasure
I sent them with messengers
that you might my truth to measure
