She had straightened her hair,
She had to seem more ‘presentable’
No longer were her curls, wild and free,
Now tamed by expected conformity
She was the only black girl in the room,
The atmosphere suffocated by others judgement,
They whisper and laugh -
Yet she still remains professional
She has no other option,
She gives a polite, strained smile
She has to keep calm,
She can’t give a reaction
She doesn’t have the privilege,
To defend herself without any issues,
She patiently waits, her eyes on the clock
Waiting for the moment prove herself for the job
Now it is her turn - she enters the room,
She sits down, then smiles at the interviewer,
She is qualified, miles ahead of the other participants,
Despite her being the most qualified, she won’t be considered
She did extremely well,
Not one stutter,
She was impressive,
But they already had a ‘diversity’ hire
A secret rule,
Is one black person,
Just so HR can’t accuse of racism,
As soon as she leaves, her resume is ripped up
I hate when it's humid.
It's hard to keep my hair manageable.
Gotta do what you can.

Look just as were born,
Endorse His art as unfurled,
Nay, learn to adorn
It, in today’s much-masked world,
Hums a happy-from-birth bird.

Note: To look presentable in this formal world is fine, but not masking reality. Today an old man not wanting to look gracefully old, masks his gray hair and wrinkles, his drooping frame. Men and women of dark skin want to look fair; of fair skin, duly tanned; and of small built, stout. Few would love to proudly pose as they are.
October 14 Praises to God Bible Meditations Based on Mark 1-3
Key Verse – Mark 1:41 And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.
PRAISE BE TO GOD FOR BEING MOVED
WITH COMPASSION FOR US
Praise be to God for being moved with compassion to:
Cleanse us in our salvation-conversion
Cheer for us amidst our supplication-cry
Care for us for our satisfaction-contentment
Charge us for our steadfast service-consecration
Comfort us along our security and safety-calmness
Mark 2:5 Praise be to the Lord for
forgiving our sins:
Fortifying our faith’s firmness
Freeing us from filthiness’ flings
Feeding us upon fullness’ festivity
Fixing us along faithfulness’ frames
Filling us with His fruitfulness’ flourishing
Mark 3:34-35 Praise be to the Saviour for
empowering us to do His will with:
Purposeful propelling
Practical performance
Persistent prayerfulness
Peaceful, presentable propping
Proper prodding along His principles. Amen!

Depression is a coat I wear constantly now
It used to hang in the closet now and then
I’d take it out to see if it fits and put it back
Its drab colors are enticing when I’m bare
I’d take it off misbelieving I still could
It was too costly to wear all the time
After what I’ve been through the size fits
Now, I can’t make the coat unzip
I see others in the spotlight strutting bare
With a coat on I swelter in joy’s lamp
I used to say just in case it pours inside
Then I'd run to the closet like a model
But, it's now knitted in skin in any weather
Now I know I'll wear it for my open casket
Its corduroy will no longer shroud my joys
Its diagnosis will be unsewn then
Even with no rain, I am bundled up
The soggy jacket knows me too well
It has stitched itself into my persona
It repels me from happiness at times
With no choice, I’ll act presentable
It never disappoints despite catcalls
That coat that never falls on the runway
So, I’ll make depression a fashion show
Met have I An Incorrigible,
Who thinks himself The Eligible
For manning of a dirigible:
For all valued posts The Preferable
And The Toughest of The Capable...
To his admirers infallible
But to cheap impulse susceptible
And to pettiness vulnerable...
Yet, has he been quite acceptable,
His best doing to be fashionable
Always after the presentable
His self - image not winnable.
Still, it's been a voice inaudible
Speeches soon unintelligible
From ideas incomprehensible
Only a bit understandable;
In many ways, then, The Sufficient
And in as many The Deficient.
In a tattered street of no Clemency
A very big cock laid a egg
Whales of the sea got Drained into the harvestation of Gunslinger
Oh! Ye the Antecedent of a Soft Raw Land
Where hath had you looked unto.. ?
When the Heavenly Colored Bodied fly in Mirrors to Enamor our beloved Land.
The Assiduous of our Aborigine has been the foundation of the Heavenly Colored Bodied Fortunes that engross Privileged Aborigine to the upper echelon of the Heavenly Colored Bodied.
Red Ink was the only Presentable and Lovable Panacea to the Assiduous Aborigines Hope....

Hidden in my cupboard is the skeleton of my past.
He's not invited, he never was.
He's Isolated and avoided, best to be forgotten
It's safer for all.
Now I'm a clone, well rounded and presentable
Someone to take home.
Blood and bones , no more blood and bones
Though he's not gone
Just sleeping, waiting
Waiting for a chance to return
Though we don't miss you
No desire to meet you
Good riddance, goodbye
Don't unlock the door
In control now, I'm at the wheel, safe and secure it's a dream
Beautiful views around every bend serenity never to end
I struggle with the changes still, like an alien it's surreal
Comfort in discomfort, so strange but real
not sure I deserve this I'm a mouse upon a wheel
Wind peacefully soft
Begins to steadily waft;
Life is colorful,
The Next Man wonderful.
Security is stable,
Killers uncomfortable;
Their aforethought readable,
Every move predictable.
Where there could’ve been riot,
The clamorous are quiet;
No more of The Abusive,
Less of the Laughter Derisive.
Evil is no more presentable
Nor vice understandable;
Nature keeps image rebranding
At corners Angels standing!
Bookends call a gaggle of bedraggled books to attention.
The big fat tomes, short stories, paperback,
are all pulled into line, toe-to-toe buttressed on parade.
Books need bookends to get propped up and be seen,
to get up out of bed, get dressed and be presentable.
Likewise, bookends need books to lean against
or else they topple over in a huddle.
They pine, sigh, moan and whimper,
with no books to embrace and cup one-handed.
Like spoilt kids they chuck temper tantrum fits,
get hissy, fall over, lay on the shelf and sulk.
So remember to keep your books and bookends
in happy symbiosis, with good reads kept to attention,
held in check by bossy bookend majors.
But, beware, those cheeky bookends tittle tattle at night,
and can speed read between the lines.
They skip the plot, and jump straight to
'In the Beginning' and 'The End'.
Is it really worth it
today
tomorrow
to rise in the morning
to shower and dress
to make myself presentable
for a world of people
who couldn’t care less
about me
Yet another twenty four hours
of stress
emptiness
excruciating loneliness
Working myself weary
my brain bleary
trying to get somewhere
Scampering in circles
on this hamster wheel
and getting nowhere
in sorting the mess
I’ve made of my life
Tell me tomorrow
will be better
Assure me that someday
it’ll be worth my while
to awaken
Convince me someone,
anyone,
you
gives a damn
that I do
I saw a thousand guns
Numbered like the sand of the seashore
Bowing down slowly
To the half of a yellow sun
Staring at them with gestures
That spoke silent words of praise
In an unbelievable future of hope!
(Book 2)
The sunrise spoke to the confederation,
The sunset seemed to sleep in peace
Within the heart of a few future Jews
Who told tales and fables of segmented past
With presentable memories of shredded battlegrounds
To new semen’s slowly turning into men
And begged of them to transfer
This vehicle of priceless messages
To their future kind!
(Book 3)
Tankers of war labeled yellow and black
Painted pictures of a fate fair and dark,
Carried labels of a suspected authoritarianism;
Painted portraits of an undeniable militarianism!
Tankers of war labeled yellow and black
Painted pictures of a race in peace or part,
Carried labels of a suspected treason
Believed to be pinpointed by the south-south region!
