Melancholy Morning

Is it really worth it
today
tomorrow
to rise in the morning
to shower and dress
to make myself presentable
for a world of people
who couldn’t care less
about me
Yet another twenty four hours
of stress
emptiness
excruciating loneliness
Working myself weary
my brain bleary
trying to get somewhere
Scampering in circles
on this hamster wheel
and getting nowhere
in sorting the mess
I’ve made of my life
Tell me tomorrow
will be better
Assure me that someday
it’ll be worth my while
to awaken
Convince me someone,
anyone,
you
gives a damn
that I do

Angela, Yes, your life can get better. Set small goals for yourself. Ones that will be the easiest to achieve for you...and build on those. Like your voice of honesty. - Gail

Before you go to sleep, compose a poem you can not wait to post on Soup the next morning! Works for me! Aloha! Rico

Thirty plus years ago I was a heroin addict. I have been where very few return. I care and I promise things will get better. But only you can choose, up or down. Nobody can make you do anything you don't want to do. You have to believe living is better than dying because if you wait until you hit bottom, death is the choice most make. Be happy, live life to the fullest. Reach for your potential. I know you can:) just keep writing!
