Who takes brain hits diabolic?
The child of an alcoholic!
With the mind’s botox
Pain’s now in a box
Not flummoxed the kid can frolic

         eaten ~ empty shells

Gold - Poof It Is Gone

The morning bright sunlight in the sky,                                                             gold rays reach far and wide.                                                                          After a mighty storm,                                                                                     leaves make a gold carpet to walk upon.                                                               Pretty flowers are opening up,                                                                            gold is exploding over the hills and fields.                                                     Nature's gold will not last,                                                                         watch it when you can~poof it is gone.

  Now – sigh – gone

Poof a True Story

I broke my ankle and my foot,
On a ski trip that we took.

My boot was loose it flew off,
Landing me in a pile of fluff.

I looked down and my foot was cockeyed,
The pain so intense I wanted to die.

My husband in shock as he arrived,
Frozen tears fell from my eyes.

Went to emergency,
With great urgency.

You have a dislocated ankle,
Said Dr. Stankle.

After putting it back in place,
Off to x-rays we did race.

"Well" said Stankle with a serious look,
"You also have a fractured foot."

"You'll need surgery in a few weeks,
Go home and try to get some sleep."

So I hobbled around in a cast,
Wish that I could change the past.

Surgery day came I couldn't wait,
Now I have screws and several plates.

I can't walk on my shattered foot,
In the near future I'll need a boot.

Walking and standing will come with time,
All because of something I liked.

Suddenly Poof

I just want to hear sounds of laughing children, of the music I danced to, the water rushing to the shore as I walked barefoot in the sand.
Sounds so valuable to my ears. Sounds that one day will no longer be within my reach.
Words like sing, happy, love, joy, close, hug and memories. Suddenly they all mean so much to me.
Too often these words are just that, words!
They're taken for granted. 
When one finally realizes they are everything one could want or need, POOF, we no longer hear, see, smell, taste, or feel them. 
Our lives are not forever.
 Forever, is the time we will spend no longer here with our family, friends or even our senses.
Hear those words. Make them a reality. Enjoy them, seek them. 
One day suddenly, Poof!

Poof Proof

Ponder the lengthy life of our planet
Here we are for only a bitty blink
Many creative creatures now span it
Each having hardly enough time to think

Seemingly senseless gnashing of the truth
Turning it all about and running round
Silently stopping, then there's just poof
Leaving little trifling traces to be found

Funny how flawed and frail we all are
Never knowing what will nudge us next
Mostly seeking some silly thrills thus far
Impacting human lives to small effect

We were wondering who will carry on
Without warning we poof, then we're gone

You always say that in America
  anyone can grow up to be President
Then you chuckle and offer
  the current President as proof

I say that your proof is no good ~ 
  He wouldn't grow up if he could

Pinky the Odd Little Poof

Pina colada? 
Pinky said sure.
Pinafore dressed
She looked truly pure.

Pin curls and pinballs.
Pinky provided proof
Pigtails non-withstanding
She was an odd little poof.

Poof a Sandwich

Son: Would you make me a sandwich?
Dad: Poof! You're a sandwich... that's rich!
That one's a hoot
Pretty clever to boot
Don't scratch if the damn thing don't itch!

Poof I Was Born a Star Not For Contest

Form which I came from a black hole bright and shinning down on this world you stand upon, I see the ocean glittering back my light through it’s waves reflecting off this moonlit night, your wish I hear although faint it has reached me bouncing off another star, yet be assured I hear you. Your wish I have received and I have sent it to the one who created me the one above me. Your wish for love will be answered a new house or car I give you no promises for you are wishing for things I cannot give, I light the night for all to see we are here watching over the, so wish upon me and I will give you a love, for that will always be.

Here we go poof

I remember kids in America
at the Bank of America
in their baggy pants, baseball hats,
   tee-shirts.
There was snow on the mountains
   clouds in-pressing to get over
   dust the sagebrush with snow.
For the life of me, I think
   it was their shouting which
   held back or drew the clouds.
They on their skateboards
   taking turns with trick jumps
   over the sign:
      Absolutely no
      skateboarding
       or rollerblading
As if the freakish haiku of the admin made it tru…
There was more I would say but time’s up.
You remember Tiananmen, won’t you?
They are here now.  So long.

So long Huang Qi.
The Tao that can be spoken of
   is not the Tao which is.
