Premium Member Two church mice

Two church mice scurried along,
rolling their dice and squeaking a song..
The congregation gathered,
This day it drew a throng.
The little mice quickly hid as the church bells gonged..
The sermon began.
People seated in the pews.
All rose to sing a hymn and sat again for church news..
The sermon was on "the good shepherd and his flock."
Suddenly a partitioner screamed and every one had a shock,
as the two church mice climbed into the pastor's frock..

There Ain'T No Pews In Hell

THERE AIN'T NO PEWS IN HELL

When you gonna come, sinner man?
When you gonna mend your sinful way?
When you gonna change-pray tell?
There ain't no pews in hell!

You ride by the church cussing and fussing
ignoring the church bell
Better come in now
There ain't no pews in hell!

The pews in churches these days
tend to be filled
on Mother's Day and Easter
or when a relative is killed.

Poor sinner
Rich sinner
Better get compelled
Ain't no church
Ain't no salvation
There Ain't No Pews
in Hell

Empty Pews No Longer Use

we saw empty pews
are ones we no longer use
God us not refuse

The "Separation of Church and State",
it has become a heated debate.
Our founders imagined a separating wall
intended to be there shielding us all.
Some took the shield and made it a sword
so liberty for many would be ignored.

Christians have ruled these many years
losing their grip is one of their fears.
The liberal left and the righteous right
are engaged in this insidious fight.

The crux is abortion, marriage, race, gender:
where literal thinkers find many an offender.
No surprise when people say, "my faith is best",
while plotting to restrict beliefs of the rest.

NOT FROM CHURCH PEWS

Never cause of falls.. God helps us stand
about to stumble.. extends his hand.
Aware God made us.. out of wet clay
Christ left footprints ..to show us God’s way.

Never pain or burden’s.. our way toss
Satan’s deep abyss.. God helps us across.
Life’s heavy yoke .. it’s weight he’ll share
Loss of loved one’s.. he'll calm our despair.

Don’t blame God for death.. Satan birthed grief
Only God’s Kingdom ..will bring Earth relief.
When God’s Will’s done here.. no more will die
"Thief” resurrected in Paradise..Christ didn't lie.

Adam door opened.. led to men’s death
God will give dead.. His life giving breath.
Those asleep in earth’s..”death bedrooms”
On Earth again stand …free of their tombs.

God’s Kingdom, it’s King.. bring total release
Prince of Peace all wars ..on earth make cease.
EDEN restored..is Bible’s Good News
Heaven not “Paradise “..taught from church pews.

Premium Member Terror In the Pews

In the church where God's spirit dwells
The bible study was going well
A stranger walks in and joins the group
And then to evil he would soon stoop

 Gunshots echo through the pews
As innocent blood begins to spew
The same people who had treated him so well
Were shot in cold blood by this demon from hell

The healing process has now begun
But when will this senseless violence be done
Tears of a nation once more are shed
As gunshots echo, and innocents lay dead....

Three Pews Long

Can a person be preached to death?
My burned-out ears answer "yes."
Some church speakers use every breath
To berate those they suppose they bless.

They describe "don'ts" three pews long.
Congregants find it all but unfeasible
To live without doing something wrong.
Shouldn't preachers aim to be reasonable?

Three hours, four hours—they preach on.
Old men are nodding off, children crying.
Isn't it time for the choir to sing a song?
This must be worse than hell and dying.

The stained-glass windows are darkening.
The preachers have preached too long.
But to the late hour they aren't harkening—
And they're prepared to carry on 'til dawn.

Piss and Puke In the Pews Free Cee

RIGHTEOUS RETRIBUTION

I awoke this morning soaked in piss and puke but I know it wasn’t mine
For the night before I had consumed no rum, tequila nor any soured wine
And so I came to the conclusion that Jesus had been the source of what I had awoken to
But my deepest regret is that I didn’t awake being anyone but me, anyone else including you
Because the most difficult job in the world is being me and there ain’t no paycheck at the end of the week
So it’s okay if Christ himself yearns to vomit on me or had taken a leak
For the things I’ve done cannot be described by the spoken words which I may say
Horrid and horrible crimes against man and nature for which I must thusly pay
Or the imbecilic statements I might utter
Words spat out with not a stutter
So that which my savior does is simply payment for the horrid and horrible acts for which I deserve such retribution
And alas,, it’s justifiable that Jesus made me awake to his most righteous contribution

The Garment District

Overnite

City trucks slowly rumble along the street

Dust
Dirt
DNA

All powerhosed
What's left suspends like your aura

Perfume lingering
Forgiveness falling, gliding almost

unseen

a golden leaf deep in the forest
Resting among fellow leaves
Experienced in changing seasons

Cautious

         but not fearful

Cautious

         but not fearful

15 Pews

The backward glance the morning cast
Without regret on midnight past

And lives now strewn to what may be
Where once the stars shone bright for thee

Must gather centuries eternal dust
For only darkness, graveyards trust

The whistling wind, her tall tales told
Of demons, dragons, warnings scold

Where earthly altars blessed the few
That knew their place…….the fifteenth pew
