I am quite a peculiar sort,
My fragrant blooming days are short.
My petite petals well bell shaped,
In virgin, pristine white they’re draped.
I’m famed in myths and legends’ scope -
Symbol of happiness and hope.
Disclaimer:
Beware beautiful butterfly,
There’s more to me than meets the eye:
My intense scent however sweet,
Not designed as a nectar treat.
With happiness, I love to smile.
Excitement I show with my eyes.
This gives me such a pleasant style,
embracing life like a glittered prize.
Gleam is another name of mine.
In sunlight on water I go.
I love to caress gems divine.
With brightness I visit the snow.
I move with fireflies in night’s sky
In sea I’m friends with jellyfish.
Radiance and sparkle am I.
As fairy dust, I’ll grant a wish!
If I should take a shine to you,
feel flattered, for folks love me so.
I bring such a beautiful view
and good health too, for I am GLOW!
I am a glass,
important in your life;
I hold selected drinks
to quench your thirst.
At your side-
in both good times and strife-
upon your list of needs,
I am the first.
But also,
I can be your measurement;
one day, a month,
a year or many years.
Interpretation of which
is oft bent
to whether
I hold joyous smiles or tears.
You see, I can be looked at
in two ways-
just one becomes the answer
to the test.
Half empty or half full-
I hold your days.
It's up to you to know
which choice is best.

As a butterfly, I dance on air
I tip toe on a breeze, I flutter and I fly
My flight bounces from flowers to bushes
I pretend to float on magic in the sky
I am delicate, but I am strong
My flight is filled with endurance
Adventures, in every design I make
My fulfillment, in every occurrence
As a butterfly, yes I dance on air
I feel lightness, happiness and joy
People take notice and they watch
Sometimes, I’m just a bit coy!
My flight will be remembered
Patterns on my wings, will mark my name
Not one flight that I have taken
Has ever been quite the same!

I am a shiny penny
just minted, brand-new
You'll find me in pockets
of shoppers like you
My value's dropped
as some've stopped
carrying cash at all; now
as passe as 'cruising the mall'
But there still is one place
where I can yet shine --
on the innocent face
of a kid under nine
He likes that I'm shiny
A quarter's often not
So find me that kid
'fore my copper grow spots!
Spring is a colorful salad
Roses are her radishes
Marigold her croutons
Lilacs in her dressing, dribbling sweetly
She is tossed in wind storms
Spring is a tasty salad
She uplifts the diners
She delights the songbirds
She nurtures the baby lambs
She brings greenery back to the meadow
Spring is a hearty salad
She feeds our souls
She nurtures our imaginations
She sings her forest songs
She rejuvenates us in the most heart-felt ways
Spring is our dessert salad
Her birds serenade us
Her bunnies show off their fluff
Her squirrels scold us gently
She brings us such enthusiasm and happiness!

Oh New Day,
What events you have in store for me I ignore
But
Whatever they are - be good or bad - I welcome them with
Open arms
For
You have granted me the greatest privilege of all:
To be alive!

unwanted, he covertly creeps into my thoughts
lest, to his disdain, unwitting smiles might escape
hope’s thief demands his own satisfaction
abandons me to wither in vain love’s desert
mock him I do when rising spirit permits happiness
control’s power victoriously beats within

I only tell of sunny hours...
The cheerful makings of memories
Cloudy bouts to be forgotten
Nights meant for relaxation
Each a designated pause between
Sunfilled enjoyment and adventures
I only tell of sunny hours...
The ones that are important
So you’ll bite into life with vigor
And treasure each bright day
As the divine gift it truly is
I am your witness and accomplice
I only tell of sunny hours...

The first little drop of beautiful rain,
The very first beautiful pearl,
Fell from the sky all alone by itself,
Fluttering down to the world,
Unaware of the torrential army of friends,
Unaware of the cascading storm,
Thinking that it would love all the dry land,
Thinking that dry was the norm,
Then splash, hello, how do you do,
Fancy meeting you right down here,
Fancy meeting you in the middle of summer,
In this very first rain for the year,
And, whoosh, he was gone, vanished in a puddle,
A puddle made of rain from the sky,
With the storm that he led from above all our heads,
This storm that had broken the dry.
With pure silk curves, wrapped in a rose,
Loosely sharing her neck,
Those ripples of love along her hard heart,
Her round and vivid perfect,
She was loved with a wine, she swam in the light,
She danced with a flickering flame,
‘Til she slept with the fire in burning hot coals,
That’s when she slowly became,
Broken and frail, a unique beautiful,
Warped to having no worth,
Warped, worn, contorted, not belonging to here,
She became at one with the Earth,
Now she lies on the ground, forgotten alone,
Beauty is now in the past,
She’s the rock solid ooze of once beautiful,
She’s a molten down bottle of glass.
If you were a flower of free in my field,
What colour do you think you would be?
I bet you’d be a beautiful red,
And I’d be the mulberry tree,
And together we’d stand beside one another,
In the field of gentle and light,
Where everything’s soft, as soft as a breeze,
A breeze throughout the whole night,
And your perfume would waft , filling the air,
Filling the sky with your charm,
Filling each breeze with a thought of exquisite,
Scenting each part of the farm,
You and me we’d make a beautiful field,
Together we’d glow in the dark,
We’d glow with a love of pure happiness,
When your petal massages my bark.
My job is so simple, I know what to do,
Just stand between you and your rain,
And never allow any trouble get in,
To fight against every insane,
Thought that pops up, just move it along,
I put the beat in your feet on the floor,
And dance with your truth, in a funky café,
Just dance all your pain out the door,
Where I’ll wave goodbye to your moment of mad,
Goodbye to all of your guilt,
And hello to your new high in the now,
Hello to the happiness built.
My job is so simple, you can rely on my work,
Giving you total control,
Of all of your thoughts and how you will feel,
I’m the music that’s good for your soul.
We’re the stars in the sky, a collage of colour,
Every tint with a hue, we glow,
And we hang happy as friends, in an elegant display,
We hang in a beautiful row,
Of happy and love, we hang in a lounge,
And also in your room, from the sill,
And we dimly fluoresce all of your world,
When all of your world’s sitting still.
We hang from the pub, in their busiest hour,
And we hang from the tree in the park,
We relax the world of hustle and bustle,
After everything has turned into dark.
Every year, about now, we come out to play,
Shining happiness throughout all the nights,
Shining and sharing a beautiful display,
We’re your colourful quaint fairy lights.
What are you doing? Going to the fridge?
Fantastic, I’ll come along too!
Oh wow, the door, you’re going to open it?
Oh man, I love hanging out with you.
Devon? Win! And a sausage from last night?
We’re a team, do you now want to play?
I know, I’ll go find and give you the toy,
You know, the one that you throw away.
Now where? Back to the couch?
Yes, you’re my very best biggest mate,
What’s that? You’re going to give me a rub,
Your rubs are prize winning, they’re great.
You’re the most biggest best friend of excitement and fun,
You even drive me to the shops way down town,
I love being beside you every bit of the day,
You’re my fire that’s burning deep down.
