Kiss me when the sun sleeps,
Where the tangerine horizon meets mossy sea foam,
Under a blanket of indigo arteries etched into the night sky,
Pulsating with each push and pull of synced heartbeats,
Whilst moonbeams ripple on gentle, lapping waves,
Brushing against midnight onyx, silken sand.
Hold me as sea swallows swoop overhead,
Arms entwined, the scent of saline permeating the soft breeze,
Immediate stillness coursing throughout
As your tender hand caresses my cheek.
Walk with me to the edges of space and time,
Where our past lives merge with the present.
Let it all come back to us—
Souls searching in the mist, clinging to hope
Within each second of ticking clocks,
Fearing what may never come,
Until only our song sweeps through hallowed walls,
Beckoning us.
Remember the moments of euphoric ecstasy beyond this earthly realm.
My love, kiss me when the sun sleeps,
As we find each other throughout every lifetime,
Until the laws of reincarnation cease to exist—
Two souls floating endlessly in oceans of lustrous stars.
sweet shrieks of discord
ring in my ears
i learn to embrace it
i understand comfort is not in your native tongue.
and finally
when silence rings out,
deafening
i smile
the irrevocable disquiet gnaws at my chest
dragging me
down
down
down
and yet again
i return to the floor’s embrace
the sound of its pulse permeating my ears
as i lay
losing mine.
“My soul is a black maelstrom…” ~ Fernando Pessoa, The Book of Disquiet.
Molten lava spews from my eyes
My mouth feels dry as the scorching desert sand
Fear like a heavy boulder sits on my chest
My heart is chasing a Chimera
A pit is forming in my stomach,
My head is riding upon a vortex
Conflicting thoughts swirling through my mind
forming a surrealistic whirlpool,
Grim and gloomy feelings shroud my being
permeating a fatalistic suspicion of society at large
dragging me down the road to depression.
A sense of emptiness is mushrooming within me,
like the morning miasma blurring the view,
All hands of hope have been withdrawn
Every moment henceforth
is pregnant with some novel challenges,
Tackling a new task overwhelms me
and despair prevails over my soul undeterred —
Bogged down by fate,
Tethered to my faith,
and mired in a spiritual quagmire
I am unable to claw my way back up
to Mount Calvary.

On the 2nd of June, so suddenly it came.
Soft drips of liquid permeating my brain.
Sweat poured like vapors of steam.
Was it real or was it just a dream?
I was stashed away in lock and chain;
No longer consumed with fun and games.
Dark clouds formed and then the storm.
My heart and soul were completely torn.
Raindrops pounded against the window pane.
If I could, I would walk out and kiss the rain.
If only I could, my life would never be the same.
Just dreaming warms the blood in my veins.
The kiss of rain would be just the key.
That loving kiss of rain would set me free.
Was it fact or was it fiction?
Was it just my imagination?
I only know that I kissed the rain.
What can I possibly do
with all these sun beams
trapped in my hair locks
and permeating every fiber of my being?
All these everlasting days
and everchanging nights,
could they be written by a poet
who tapped into their eternal shine?
For all of us
can be the poets of our own lives:
all it takes is one fragment
of eternal sunshine.
Captured within this water level rising,
it’s a feeling of being pulled or called.
That rushing sound of the rolling tide
pulses permeating right through me.
It’s a feeling of being pulled or called,
something completely unexplainable.
Pulses permeating right through me
electrifying my mind, body, and pen.
Something completely unexplainable
I’m left freed to safely fall and look up.
Electrifying my mind, body, and pen
a shock is received again and again.
I’m left freed to safely fall and look up,
adrift on this swaying roller coaster.
A shock is received again and again
raising a new language on my skin.
Adrift on this swaying roller coaster,
that rushing sound of the rolling tide.
Raising a new language on my skin,
captured within this water level rising.
whose flushed cheek is it that lies
within the heated crook of your arm?
whose eternal lost soul is it that dies
among the reeds, in this torrid state of alarm?
how lengthy is this penance
that we walk with blistered feet?
for all my love to lie within a sentence,
before i become the sacrificial meat
it is in this ritual that i dance,
if only for your pleasure, Sir -
a jousting champion with a fractured lance,
his young bride nestled deep in her cloak of fur
the banners wave as the swords clash,
hands are clutched and nails are bit -
in all this chaos our tempers grow rash,
igniting the firefight at the red heart of it
from a noose there hangs the remaining scraps
of a former man, clinging onto the rope -
the wind sways so upon the trunk that the heel bone taps,
a beacon, for the opposition, of brute hope
the hope that it is not their second son,
for the first stays put at high court,
who boasts of seasons and battles won -
their palpable pride permeating the fort
Prohibit plastic production please
impose a moratorium then ban it
as it has proliferated to the point
of permanently polluting our planet
permeating people poisoning pets
pervading places
from the peak of Mount Everest
to the Great Pacific Garbage Patch
and yet you'll even catch PVC
at the bottom of the sea
as 95 percent of packaging
is used in one-and-done products
if we don't take the process to heart
personally do our part
possibly throttle
the genie already out of that bottle
which predominates the population
and the plague persists
it has the potential for propagation
'til we've had it up to here
with a plethora of polymers
coming out our ears
The man in the elevator appears otherworldly
as if he had stepped through a portal
zeptoseconds* before I enter through those familiar doors
on the journey to my own humdrum world
of data processing and data collection.
The stranger’s eyes meet mine and seem to mesmerize
my soul with an invitation to go with him to a mystical land
of never ending adventure away from electrical hum
permeating my part of the multiverse,
and as I look away he vanishes…
I exit the elevator and question am I losing my mind,
as I take my station and login to visit my digital therapist.
*A zeptosecond is a unit of time equal to one trillionth of a billionth of a second.

A Monk With No God
Delta wave slumber, healing and pure.
Nothing the subconscious cannot cure.
All-in-all essence—creation’s force.
Impossible to name life’s true source.
Permeating worlds beyond count,
With grace, those cosmic numbers surmount.
Divine illumination within,
Consciousness eternal, without end.
“I think,” and thus prove that I exist—
Such an argument can be dismissed.
Unmeasured thought: no length, breadth, or weight.
Nothing to quantify or translate.
Cosmos expanding faster than light;
Humankind struggles with their own plight.
If nothing is greater than one’s mind,
How shall eternity be defined?

The multitudinous clenches of despair joust intermittently.
Make it hurt.
No witnesses. No empathy. Nor apathy. My stagnation.
The question of purposefulness has the inconsequential ringing of tinnitus banging in my noggin.
Who to bear witness?
Beyond “you,” I suppose...
Thou nameless, faceless, formless and ing omnipresent
God? Given my luck...
Crawling and flowing in my body - more so than my own blood - though never foreign. A homogenous mixture “we” are.
Invasive “you” are not.
Permeating and crushing my existence.
Not of me but never foreign, never.
“You” to bear witness.
My brain rackles with any and all manifestations of grief. How predictable.
Where are “you?”
Inside and outside and inside out and outside out - never foreign.
Take my life then.
Be not afraid. Take my life.
Make this invitation to a new aspiration of my decimation my proclamation.
The after-thought of symbolization, of matter, of merit-
Take my life
I am tired - tired - tired of this rigamaroo
Take my life. Take my breath.
“YOU!”
GIVE. IT. MEANING.
I hear the words spoken with your eyes
And I realize, there nothing we should fear
We know, that soon you'll have to go
And as I hold your hand , I shed a bitter tear
I hold your picture in my hand
And I understand, the smile upon your face
And feel, it's deep an tender love
Permeating me through its warm embrace
I feel your touch, the warmth that you are near
The depth in which you care, with tenderness so sweet
The scent of your perfume, filling every room
Makes my heart still skip a beat
Chorus
I hope that you can see
Wherever you may be
My love for you will always fill my heart
And I know that soon
There will come a day
That we will find a way
To be together
and never ever part
I want to go to Virginia
With a girl named Virginia.
Feel the sullen breeze cross my face,
Surf over the knobby contour of my nose,
Then whiz past my ear as I hold Virginia close.
Her honeysuckle shampoo
Permeating my brain.
Both sets of our eyes gaze riverward,
Wondering if the dream had started
Or is this the magical reality
We forever wished for.
With my phaser on stun clipped at my side
We kept on along the water’s edge
Hand-in-hand. Our skin dry, warm,
And glowing, with our heads full of
Miracles and our hearts
In serene syncopation.
Floating on a rock in an Infinite Space, Drifting with the Whirlpools and Eddies
of the Cosmos, Dancing with the Stars and Space Dust, One with the Light,
Riding High with Infinitudes, Blazing Wild, Blazing Bright, Blazing Fetters to
Shine as the Sun, Riding the Wind toward Infinite Awes, Scintillating like
Fireflies, Dazzling the Ethers, Sparking the Wick of the Eternal Flame,
Oscillating like Bonfires of Majesty, Rising High to Cathedrals of Everlasting Life,
Permeating the darkness with Rays of Gold and Sapphire, Overcoming,
Conquering, Ascending with Emeralds of Wisdom and Jewels that
Dazzle the Mind. I AM the Light, Lucid, Gleaming, Sovereign and Just
