Mad Prayer of Love

Forgive me , it’s love , I’m falling for you
My heart can’t disguise
For your sake , I would fight till the skies , with courage aflame
Through fire I stride .
No fear can conquer , what I feel inside.
They whispers , ‘Such love can never survive’ ,
But what do they know of hearts kept alive ?
For you , I’d part with heaven’s own light ,
Even lose god’s hand if it gives you delight.
I can even win the battle , fierce by design ,
My soul reflects you perfectly fine ,
Powerful , intense spirits are align,
Our hearts forever are intertwined .

The watery pearl

I was on the verge of
Laying my bare sole
Upon a patch of grass
My eyes noticed it
Amidst some
Green stripes
With no fanfare
A round, watery pearl
Your earlobes
At the time so lovely
For a fleeting second
By the way
Where are you currently
We meet to part with
Candle to get extinguished
An autumn swing
To be relinquished
The clouded face
On the brink of raining
out of the race
At the small window
The bus must leave
The pearl too
Waiting to melt
Neither the earrings
Nor the hair bun
The inexorable sun

Premium MemberMark's Marathon

A message to all worthy competitors in the Marathon this year.
It should be about camaraderie and having fun. When the finish line is crossed, I hope you'll have found that your time spent in participating has been worthwhile, and no one will be congratulating a plagiarizer or a machine.

I'm not taking part, (with apologies and admiration, Mark). There are too many issues that have been causing havoc in the Soup and because of them I'm seldom here. CHEERS to poets who run a good race!

When comfort comes at cost

Time was money was when a mindful mate
That gave me time enough to feel its feel--
The touch of grain and texture of its state,
How one hesitates ere part with the bill--
Crisper the notes harder to part was it,
The time it takes to wean out the wallet
That gives enough time to be wise and discrete
To look into, to wait, deliberate
That slows me down enough to weigh its worth.
UPI now cuts that safety circuit
That technology calls it empty mirth,
Not watch out, weigh and well in time to quit.
Technology oft looks an empty boast,
And I know well: comfort comes at a cost.

Clinch Fist Pillow Cuddle

Machine gun heart riddled with shades of grey.
A mind once sharpened by your own forked tongue.
Lovers' lips part with rumbles of a cannon.
Dew licked satin sheets - the highway to carnal desire.

Silhouettes of freshly washed skin dance in the night.
Passion rising like the souls of the departed.

Where do you sleep after your thirst is quenched?
Where do you go when your high knows no bounds?

Unfiltered needs not being met;
A fire put out before the gasoline burns off.
Passionate nights followed by cool seduction.
A waterfall of your essence coating my tongue.

Decisions made in a moment of yearning.
Your lack of understanding - my constant battle.

Why can't you listen instead of just hear?
I will free my enslaved exuberance,
since you can't be bothered.
Blow out the candle and climb into bed.
One of these days you'll get what you want.
And one of these days I'll learn that I won't.

The Preemptive No

Before you ask

The answer is no

I will never surrender courage

For a place of defeat and storage

I will not abandon faith

For a worthless attachment to an uncertain estate

I refuse to relinquish love

For a well-fitted but counterfeit glove

I cannot renounce my goal

For a destination that ambushes my true role

I will not forsake confidence

For a river that runs with polluted opulence

I refuse to discard determination

For a chance to keep company with resignation

I dare not part with humility

For a life that grants honor to futility

Before you ask

Rest assured the answer is no

there is an end

there is an end
repetitive engaged
newer orders
where we come from
is where nothing returns
the service of birth
to not come home
on foreign soil
only to war
only for war was i thought of
this one will not win
this strategy of me
a world
they enjoy and toy with me you will
toil till death does its part with you
you tend to my munitions
i confer and advance
you engaged me
and again i gain ground
no fence?
know fence
no place
mine
handless land, crawling
time honored minute, non traditional
warfares itself upon the service
none shall attend
being built in a bottle
speak

Premium MemberA Secret Recipe

A Secret Recipe

I have a secret recipe.I bake it in a pan.
I got it from my mother, who had it from her Gran

Her gran was five and forty when she found it in a book.
She baked it on a big black range. She was a wondrous cook.

The book was old and tatty, belonging to her aunt
Who got it from the tally man, he was a handsome gent

The tally man was Irish. The book his mother‘s pride.
He didn’t want to part with it for her spirit was inside

His mother was a spay wife. Her writing it was bold.
She copied down her recipe that never can be told

Aunt Annie loved the tally man, and so became the heir
To the very precious recipe that no one else could share

Until Great granny found it, after auntie died,
but she knew it was a secret and a secret it would bide.

And so it passed on down the line, until it came to me.
I treasure that old tatty book that no one else can see

I’ll leave it to my daughter when I go off to heaven
That precious old and tatty book from eighteen twenty seven.

Part With New Moon Minichu

This lunar ring's dark mood —
A colorless chain hung that
Vibes in the cornfield croon

She's an invisible gait —
A new moon's misses blowing
In her twilit ways

Sowing
Forgoing
Growing

This lunar ring's dark mood —
A new moon's misses blowing
Growing

Premium MemberMerry-Go-Round

So sad to part with one so close to my heart;
But you had to mount that mad Merry-Go-Round.
I said from the start, your persona is art;
You must be seen and must see each sight and sound.
Yet, I had to live quietly, and apart;
Though 'tis joy, each round, to see you from firm ground.
One day, when your horse heads my way, dearest friend,
One of us will be gone, as all things must end.

Premium MemberMaybe We Can Use Electrolysis Instead of Immolation

to free this specter from its host
caught in a body like bear trap
a house made of arms that can't let go
my hearth’s flame is selfish,
unwilling to part with smoke
without separation i will choke
at the memory of a pleasant smog
sewn into the wrists of silver tinged fingers
there is rust in my bloodstream
the wear and tear of my engine
corrodes away a heart that
deserves to be at peace
so please exorcise me with shock
i felt you’d never want to leave

Premium MemberIn His Time

Like a deluge, sorrow fell from the sky
It leaves us with a 'never-ending' sigh
It's a tearful soul's cry
It's a question of 'Why'
It's hard to say 'Goodbye'
No matter how hard we try

Whether it's a love gone bad
Or a demise that made you sad
For a while, it seems so cruel
We have to part with such a Jewel

Sometimes, healing takes so long
But in time, we learn to move on.
I heard it said in a great songline
He makes all things beautiful in His time.

Premium MemberCOCONUT OF THE CARIBBEAN

Fish a floating coconut from edge of the Caribbean Sea
Hux the outermost part with a machete
See its brown hairy shell hard as a rock,
Pierce its eyes, which will rain healing waters.
Cut out the white meat for lunch or dessert!
Create some ornament from its polished shell.

Premium MemberA Touching Reflection

The clock ticks, and Time slips by,
Amass less! Let’s all give it a try,
Eyes closed, thoughts flow, of memories recalled
from pictures on the wall,
Back to the time of a rising to a call:
A plea to help the oppressed regain their smile.

With so many faces from so many races,
All from different places.
Music playing, bodies swaying.
Hands clapping, feet tapping.
Young and old, united by their plight
Together, fighting the same fight.

The voice wanted to shout out loud and clear for all to hear.
Come! Come! Take a look and see what a difference giving a little can make for those in dire need.
Ah, but how many would care?
And how many would take heed?

A broken door creaks.
A young child takes a peek,
stumbles and starts to weep.
An Elder speaks,
“Alas, still weak, but life now isn’t so bleak”.

Simple but painfully touching words the ears couldn’t bear to hear.
The heart, heavy with sadness, trembled, then sank in despair.
It couldn’t help but wonder how many would dare to part with a little from their share.
