Having been so long untouched,
I’d become a child beyond touch
and unclean.

So, when suffocatingly
roused from a nightmare of death
to unbreathable silence
in an oxygen tent, I cried

afraid of dying alone.

From somewhere
        (outside of all darkness)
you appeared
	(starched-pinafored and perfumed
	 a student nurse working nights
	 after classes)
bringer of light
restorer of air
redeemer.

At your spell, cool air whispered
around us, and you held me
despite my uncleanness
	(and I felt
		your heart
			       beating).

My tears eased a path for breath,
your fingers gentled my face,
and I fell back into sleep
at peace.

I have forgotten your name
but I remember your touch
and the silver nitrate stain
on your hand, a sky blue.

If I believe in Mercy
it’s only because of this:

You fearlessly touched one
whom others would not
and if God has a face
it is yours.

 Flash floods, prolonged droughts
   Ozone's nemesis
 Excessive heat, extreme cold
   Ozone's nemesis.

 Every tree felling
   Is Oxygen's loss
   Is Carbon's gain
 Ozone layer depletion
   Humanity losing out
   In the end game.

Nature's Oxygen

The lush green mountains
Admire golden glow skies
Gives breathe of fresh air.

Premium Member Like Oxygen

If sound waves
travel the air waves
do we breath them in
like oxygen
to sustain us?

Do they foul up
our bodily functions
like politicians foul up
the body politic
and don't get caught?

Breath in breath out
go to sleep
and pay no attention
to the monsters
under the bed!

A Fish Out of Water is Dead

A fish out of water is dead,
unlike the famous expression
where it just means uncomfortable.
Fish can’t survive without water.

Water is survival for fish-
a fish out of water is dead.
Their small gills fill with oxygen-
that is how they breathe in and out.

The fishes' food is in water
algae- red, green, brown, other fish.
A fish out of water is dead,
cause water means food, food is life.

It may be home to predators,
it may host gatherings for trash,
humans might go fishing there, but
a fish out of water is dead.

Premium Member She sucks the oxygen from the room

Where ever she goes the cameras loom.
They're on to the scent of her perfume.
She sucks the oxygen from the room..
Forever in the public eye, all daily movements scrutinized.
She must dot all x's and circle her y's
Transparent as a bronze gold fish.
Isolated, observed, on a petri dish,
craving for some privacy, a daily wish..
She pulls up her quilt and sleeps until noon,
aware of the face she'll be wearing soon.
She sucks the oxygen from the room.

Conservation

Let's reafforestate,
It is never too late,
Make an oxygen emitter,
An anti-plastic transmitter,
Atmosphere deranged,
Redress climate change,
Over to millenial brains,
Or we're all down the drain,
Some hi-tech savvy way,
Let's all start today!

Please Don'T Tamper With Us Forests

As you can see I am very big,...
One of the biggest forests in the world.
I belong to a major league
Of chief forests of the veld.

I pack, daily, tons of oxygen
Which I release to the atmosphere.
That gas, along with nitrogen,
Needs replenishment as part of air.

In here you can pick things to eat right away
But most of my gifts to the world
Are not visible day to day
Though by them life's pillars are held.

I have mentioned world oxygen.
There are also pulp and paper,
Many ingredients used in medicine
As well as your flora and fauna!

We are called the lungs of the planet,
And as such we should be respected;
But we are facing the worst challenge yet:
By men's schemes we're being decimated!

What is most loathsome of all
Is when men use us in their wars.
They detonate and fire their wherewithal
And leave bad memories and scars!

Go and warn your fellow men
That original features like us
Have been ever here since Eden
And tampering with us is dangerous!

Premium Member She Is My Oxygen

This way
I’ll remember you always
Your sweetness
Your warmth
The love

It took me on such a journey to see you
To have you by my side
Yet I was blind all these years

Strange ways is life
Reasons out of my control
Following a path

I was there you were there
Yet it took years to fall
To fall for each other
To feel our two hearts beat out of our chest
Thumping towards each other
My eyes wide open, my heart ready to feel yours

Mysteries of life
Path crisscross
Hearts pass
Hearts land on love
Souls connect

It’s her face with such a smile
I take in
Like oxygen she is my life
The breath I need every day of my life
My feelings for her
She is Breathless

Covid Stealing Oxygen Slam

When you break down the
top headline story

Into the simplest of terms

No human being on earth

Even a child could not misinterpret

Or fail to understand

When and what the newsreader
is actually saying

And yes you did hear those words
come out of his or her mouth

We don't have or have run out
of oxygen

In effect what they are actually
saying

Is the most abundant thing
on earth

Above food or water or even
dry land

We have run out of

Well riddle me this or am
in fact proposing the most

Stupid of questions in the
history of manking

If that statement you just made
was in any way true

In the next 10 minutes

Every living species

Without the ability of oxygen
to breath

Is

Dead

Extinct

Oxygen

I live
to breathe
in her love

She is
the oxygen
I am starving
for in my lungs

I look into her eyes
and see a reflection
of my soul staring
back into me

I breathe her love in
I breathe it out
I take each breath
as if it's my last

I've breathed the
magic potion of love
I crave her like a candle
craves oxygen at
the onset of darkness

I crave her
the love of my life
I crave her the only
way I have ever known
how

I become a drowning man
struggling to breathe
I gasp for her love
she possesses my heart
and soul

She is the only
oxygen I know
when she kisses me
I get oxygen out of
each kiss

Those kisses that sends
messages to my toes
and fingertips

She kisses the right
things at the right time
then kisses the things
she missed

When I breathe
my soul slips from me
and goes into her
wraps itself around her
all night, like the breath
of the moon

Her breath is like
a small night wind
dries my cheeks
we talk in touches

Her soft breasts
brown nipples dimpling
and I am gone into mist
I breathe her oxygen
her lips spilled rising

That is why I carry
my love of her
as constant as any sun
deep in my heart...

My Oxygen Is Low May I Have a Kiss

Gasping for air with no oxygen to spare
Fill my lungs with your love
Tease me touch me just please give me air
Let my lips just once taste your lips of love

I look from afar at your beauty
Wanting and needing to hold you
My lungs are empty I need your lips
For just one simple kiss

Do you wish my death?
I cannot live without you
Why can’t you see me in this corner of love?
My last wish is one small kiss

Before my air disappears

My Oxygen

You lick the tendons of my oxygen-
sucking away my breath bit by bit,
heartbeat by heartbeat-
I am drained like a broken thermometer,
mercury spilling onto the floor
like a small pool of ink.

There is no remedy -
hope has sailed its sinking ship
and I sit around silently
like egg-shell white paint
drying on the living room walls.

Effacing myself was never a choice
so I drifted away from you
like a blue balloon flying away
from a child's distraught hand.

Oxygen

Two joined elements swirl around
Into its lungs with wisp of sound
Turning its blood from blue to red
Preserving life as cells are sped

And though not regnant is the right
Concentration to give it flight
From inertness so its mind
Can pursue and happiness find

If not enough then judgments slow
And other gasses overflow
Causing bones and muscles to shout
Till its progress quickly flames out

But if too much its lungs grow weak
Slowing its independence streak
Making the tissues distended
Weight that was never intended

Breathe just enough of life’s tonic
To perfuse a fit republic
Ever poor so it can’t ruin us
Ever meek so it won’t rule us
