Bright light pervades the tomb.
Wrappings neatly folded, laid aside.
Perfect Son of Man resuscitates;
Adorned in power and majesty.
Darkness of death irreversibly erased.
Salvation in Christ’s sanctified being.
Lamb - head-to-heels immaculate.
Brilliance of dayspring greets groom.
Perfume of heaven saturates atmosphere;
The Rose of Sharon satisfies.
Lambent Messiah cast off sin.
His eyes bear no pain,
Nor shade onrushing sun.
Intensity of love and majesty;
Zealous to embrace His victory.

I watched a lorry
coming down the Route de Lesterps.
One of those rumbling lumbering lorries
that so disturbed your morning sleep
and for an instant, a moment’s thought,
I wanted
to dash out between our cars
to run into its onrushing path
to come to you
to leave behind the pain
the need to know
to know not the how
but the inexplicable why.
In the end, I stood there
and watched it pass,
I counted the raindrops as they fell
and as time restarted
turned and returned to our home.

Gas station snacks piled in the free seat,
windows half-cracked to catch onrushing air,
velocity cools the day’s outer heat,
blowing around my girlfriend’s auburn hair.
Avoid dull highways, take the scenic route,
the country unfolds, villages and farms,
small valleys and hillsides I never knew,
each mile with its unique mood and charms.
Listen to old rock, then outlaw country,
stopping for views, or old buildings preserved,
maybe a state park with something to see,
or roadside diners where pancakes are served.
Compared to an airplane, it may seem slow,
but roamers like me love the open road.

Crows are mobbing a hawk,
it is perched on a high branch,
striving to ignore
the sharp beaked onslaught,
yet it cannot withstand for long,
the onrushing claws and wings.
The crows work as one together,
they are relentless,
the larger raptor lifts into the air
seeking a less raucous space of sky,
for a while
the bold birds loudly chase.
Glint-eyed corvids
caw in rowdy triumph,
then, as usual,
they rattle the trees, as they
squabble and taunt each other,
just for the dark joy of it.

Goals to set
Plans to make
Awards to win
Get fit, get thin
Time's a wastin'
C'mon 'n push harder
No wavin' white flags
Full bore, you're no martyr
Who just shrieked
a buckle of whose knee
Why's my back stiff
What's happening to me ...
Your body's just telling you
it can no longer do
What you were always taught
was good for you ...
Time to turn the page
acknowledge onrushing age
Render devotion to abeyance ~
Pay homage to patience

Terror
When I thought of the terror
Once I sat engaged and freighting
Much I marveled the splendid scare
Deep into that darkness fearing
On that day my soul grew lonely
Once upon a midnight silent
I awoke and flung the deterrence
Sore while all the while violent
Once upon a midnight silent
and its eyes have all the hushing
It was onrushing, violent, gushing!
The clap never brushing
I crave the stirring, somber sedition
There stood a voiceless nutrition
To warn me about the basal metabolic rate
In The blacken darkness riffs of hate
Deep into that darkness sing
Still is sting, still is sting
As of someone gently bring, bring
Death shall bring hallelujahs
Deep into that darkness fooling
All my soul within me grueling
As of someone gently schooling, schooling
Death shall bring acclamations
All my soul within me dueling
Engaged and freighting
Much I marveled the splendid scare
Deep into that darkness fearing
On that day my soul grew lonely
Once upon a midnight silent
I awoke and flung the deterrence

Charon 2001
by Michael R. Burch
I, too, have stood—paralyzed at the helm
watching onrushing, inevitable disaster.
I too have felt sweat (or ecstatic tears) plaster
damp hair to my eyes, as a slug’s dense film
becomes mucous-insulate. Always, thereafter
living in darkness, bright things overwhelm.

I found
Love
when you found
Me.
Together
we found, in founding
Us, Us.
The great onrushing
of my lifelihood has
found its course;
in you.
I flow to you.
I flow to see you.
I flow to the sea of you.
I flow entirely
and utterly
and undeniably
down. Fully, lifegivingly
to you,
my Love.

A constant reminder of what’s surrounding me
The vacuum of evil that seeks to suck me in
That the light will fade and I too will cease to be
Along with my warped blank paperweight twin
I walk in the omnipresence of his gnomon stair
The onrushing day’s crowd evades our inert figure
But an oncoming stranger’s sneer smears my stare
I shrink as he augments in a meagre shudder
At the end of day's rush to everywhere he’s nowhere
But everywhere in the sea of the projected black of night
And in the artificial light he’ll again reappear everywhere
Only to disappear into the dark alleys in a slight
His carbon sheet envelopes my retired lumber mind
As we're posted expressionless into a new realm
Still as the dead of night as we shadow dance blind
Folded through nightmares with my shadow at the helm

Steel resolution, made a thousand times
To reach across black rift between closed hearts
Carefully constructed, a thousand lines
Rose incantation, enchanted restart
Dim hourglass of the blind excuse dancer
Clings desperately to its final grains
Dark wolf’s mouth slavers, he smells your cancer
Speak now, or forever we keep these pains
Knock on your door, thunderous echoes fade
Younger guilt and fear restrain me no more
Resolve not weakened, steady hand not stayed
Blade drains poison, flowing blood you ignore
One thing stands clear at your onrushing end:
It takes just one to break, but two to mend.

They call it shuffling of the mind
when other eyes are turned;
Other visions call upon the history
that is their very own, allowing us
to see, to share, to grow.
Onrushing Earth
will ride the tides of time
disclosing newer cries of childhood;
hearts will sing again their Kyries
while brotherhood is unrelenting,
we may join the new-made antiphon
where every song is triumph;
each surrender is a victory.
There is risk in such a stand.
There is plenitude among the powers
of the strong, righteous in their zeal.
There is challenge. There is testing.
There is no defense.
Mayhap, there need not be.

Guilt's Living Tunnel
by Odin Roark
From one's everywhere-platform
An onrushing subway beckons attention
Strange colored lights constellating
Rising from infinite subterraneous distance
Its massive black face bearing down
An overwhelming colossus
Seeming to push crushing air
From the prodigious tunnel
Like a piston filling a cylinder
Nightmare's relentless all-steel demon
Plunges its compressed fetid iridescent odor
Spewing vermin essence at this desperation
Standing frozen upon the tracks
Blood flows not its normal route
Choosing instead to flood the intellect
Second-thought rationale quickening
Synapse signals colliding
Adrenalin reserves exploding
A lunge to safety
Prostrate upon platform
Roaring beast passing behind
Daring eyelids open
Suddenly...
Awake
A bed of cold sweat
Engulfs a battered heart
The loving eyes of conscience knows patience
Its warm presence gently caresses the exhausted mind
Questioning not the guilt
But consoling pain's resolve
Knowing relief remains
Beholden to time

Impromptu night journey into snowy
wood
Face laced with scarf; head covered
by hood
Sturdy mare blanketed; each foot
shod with stud
A swift nod, gentle tap instinctively
understood
Gallant mare plows forward
furrowing ice and mud
Chilled air quickens my pulse;
thickens my blood
The howling wind around the
swiveling sleigh doth whirl
Into onrushing faces stinging, icy
pellets hurl
Along path's edges glistening trees
their mast's twirl
O'er head stalking raven's
patronizing wings unfurl
The chortling wind, raven screeches;
my head hairs curl
Around the bend, loomed the
cottage of stately earl
I gathered the reins the careening
sleigh to abruptly turn
Acclimatized mare already my
studied thoughts did discern
Onto the swept, manicured lane
hopeful feet did churn
Beckoning lamp on distant doorstep
did intently burn
Already alerted, spry earl awaited
our intentions to learn
On arrival, our tired petition, lowly
station did not spurn

.
Across the windswept sea swaying,
tossing,
sunlight strews diamond dust, sparkling,
dancing.
The din of the onrushing waves
behind
makes the love song that you summon
in your mind
sound desolate, garbled and
fragmented
with the pain of an old scar newly
wounded.

Walking in a humid rains eerie, strange copper wave
your shirt a most prized skin on, hold on! the scent losing
undeniable lady grief keeps pace on me, like pressed powder somehow
there i still feel your touches and warm in a cozy knot knowing
you long after it's Godly, the clover filling and never popping
far up above the sidewalk breakage just as determined for sungold shoulders
so immense the life passed, only brave rains fall
where once you walked and I now calm
a busy head within hounding a Highness beyond mortal reach, why Elizabeth?
temporarily estranged from the onrushing reality
going on not despite no, know
it is with your loving spirit always present and guiding,
in relinquishing the body she breathes
in everything eternally and withstands,
hopefully somewhere near my shoes.
