A Passing Notion

I tell you this as death draws near
As a cautionary tale, but not to fear

I now believe that a notion ingrained in us not to be true
The moment when we pass the lives we lived flash on through

I became aware as it began not long ago
Tiny fragments swaying to and fro

It happens when sleep draws close, a vignette whirs into view
Little threads to tug at and pursue

Gossamer strings of whispers float on by
Ghostly visages flicker like lighting streaks in the sky

Moments in time come from our past
We awake and remember how much we had forgotten as the years have been vast

Night after night new instants play out
Until you realize without a doubt

There will come a time when all the images disappear
The end has come, the light winks out, all will be clear.

Premium Member Sometimes Not a Great Notion

Sometimes a great notion
is to jump into the ocean.
It can be a good idea,
but it's not a panacea.
The concept doesn't suck,
if you're a pelican or duck.

The mind glows with fleeting passion,
sparkles with euphoria sequins transient,
conveys by radiant cadence evanescent
the rational notion undeniable....
everything has a time to come and go.

The notion of performance doesn't belong to nature

The notion of performance
Isn't the trait of nature

The notion of performance
Doesn't belong to nature
What differs machine and science
We will find out with no razor

The notion of performance
Isn't the trait of nature
Logic and sense reforming
We do understand the danger

The sharp edge with minimal factors
Encompass does not complexities
Black or the white your judgement
Versus makes truth your unethical

What for do I need your zeroes
What for do I need the ones
Computer and I play Osiris
Repair your imbecile stance

Is their job MY computer
Shall we to cook the cook
Removing associations
Will we be using spook

Bark my friend with tail at cars
They don't care about us
Veterinary cloud choose you
Or adopt the pet
Drink water from the bottle
I will produce the set

Milk fat

Tai One On

I wasn't long in Hong Kong,
before I saw my first tai chi,
and it gave me the strangest notion,
the exercisers, advancing all in a row,
were line dancing in slow motion.

They put their left hand in,
right hand out,
in, out, in, out,
waved them all about
and, set to soothing, soulful music,
the male practitioners suggestively sang,
"If you show me your yin,
I'll show you my yang."

Everybody Has This Silly Notion

Everybody has this silly notion
that life is not as precious as gold:
have they exchanged it for devotion:
to grab it faster than they could?

I agree, nothing exceeds the value of a ruby,
if they can't smile: how can they love intensely?
Roses bloom only once and they last two lovely seasons,
some are snatched from their stems for courting reasons!

Everybody thinks that diamonds charm eyes
and should be given to spark their passion;
they're ideal for attracting someone's attention:
what would they care about misleading smiles?

If spring invites lovers to dance,
where's a mystical ballerina
doing twirls on her ballet shoes...
for that tenor who sings an allegretto aria?
Isn't her desire more evident in her moves?
Has she noticed me and my stance?

Appreciate who gives you flowers, not jewels
that adorn your dress on a gala night;
it's his humble gift worth many treasures:
when love sparkles in his eyes, it's a delight!

Smack the Naysayer upside the head
far fewer would have been harmed
had citizens not been disarmed --

Forefathers wise for Second Amendment
which Naysayers habitually make defendant

a necessary tool
to keep safe even the fool
preventing complete social upheaval
while man, his soul, remains harbinger
of evil!

A Silly Notion

"a silly notion"

perhaps a silly notion
is that pink is my color
nothing but pink champagne or
known to all pink lemonade

choose either one for
health of the soul
and refresh all that flows
make the pink essence last
perhaps more than a day
always having her with you
giving life to life as
nothing sweetly compares to
enjoying elegant elegancies

Premium Member The Delightful Notion

In the late hours, you remain aware,
I directed my eyes out of the lame glare.
When you scoop your most clear hand,
This guided me through the rugged land.
You read each title on the child’s skimming,
And all that pain caused you some miming

Kudos for taking on a load of my pity,
During both fine and dire times, echoing ditty.
She is my other mother and first wife,
The guardian’s angle secured the baby's life.
From once-ill, now-maturity childlike people,
The nanny lets your silly book be as a foster.

Bliss, I pray that all readers will be blessed,
In times of need, a dear carer may be best.
Every youngster memorized my poems,
As in a warm, cozy child's room, I know him.
They heeded this as gently as possible,
This made my youth halcyon and sensible.

Neutral Notion

Wind blows to set strain apart.
Yet, sheep joyfully bear it a cross.
Hardly do they mind to depart,
Rather tag the fight posse.

Im not fake.
I bake natural cake.
It may really ache
And take time- for a sake
But never been opaque.

With joy, pen swims through tunnel:
For sacrifice, mind walks through the valley;
Fastening pages to the trunnel,
Trading lines and stanzas energy for galley.
Outpouring enough through grace funnel...

Flying birds, quills feather.
Chirping sounds good a say,
In all kinds of troubling weather.
Knowledge grows not grey.

Don't just know YOU:
Somewhat stupid and funny, a star.
Not only in all you do,
People choose to write you memoir.

Premium Member Nurse's Notion

She lived and died
Where she was planted
In the mountains, on this earth
Where silence filled her heart
Raining wonders through her
Dreams and whispering
Joy through her pains

She lived in the mountains
In the quiet of a place
Surrounded by pines, oaks
Adventures, warm and bold
Like the sigh of summer
The dance of falling leaves
Empty promises, melodies
Mysterious and breathless
Like their questions

She died in the mountains
In the still of the night
Where hearts were broken
As she exhaled her last
Breath, on the lavender
Smile of a memory, a thought
Prayed by the stranger
Who only knew she was gone

He Does Not Want To Change

He does not want to change
And it is very strange:
Ted a few understand
Like one does one’s left hand:
Ted who would queerly stand,
As though it is more grand
Than taking up Sofa
That makes rumps less suffer …

Ted with his own notion
Of an Ideal Nation:
“What she can do for you
Starting with Things to Chew!”

Ted won’t think of a change
With all things out of range.
