Premium Member A Fall Day

This day dear Lord is one that I
Am glad I didn’t miss.
Can Heaven be more beautiful
More lovely than is this?
The wind is calm, the sun is warm
The air is pure and clear.
A day in June cannot surpass,
This one in fall of year.

The ripened fruits have drawn large crowds
Of bees and butterflies
And other fauna too will feast
On manna from their skies.
I harvested the very best
For jams and pies to make.
The birds indulged before fruit fell
For unwinged to partake.

The day is filled with sounds of joy
From voices large and small
And I am just as gleeful, Lord
At wonder of it all.
These multitudes that buzz and chirp
And sing a grateful song
Are lifting praises to you, Lord,
And I must sing along.

Armadillo

They came in the night
Nocturnal mammals plying their trade
Armored carriers of an age old scourge
A modern day version of a creature from a Mesolithic age
Rooting in the soil for their tasty grubs and morsels.
Leaving behind holes in the lawns and uprooted fresh planted beds.
A total destruction of a days labor in the garden.
Anger arises from the waste and want of the destroyed beauty
A plan, a trap for these ancient creatures cunningly devised.
Arising in the night,
Waiting with gun and light
Ever vigilant for the coming of these armored destroyers
Waiting, waiting, as the day begins to break,
But not to be seen after a long night through
Bleary eyed, and exhausted from a sleepless night.
Another day, another night, a new plan to be devised
To see if they come,
Seeking the tasty grubs lying beneath freshly planted beauties.
A combat to be waged with these armored creatures of old.
A test of wills to see who will win out.

A Shower In the Mountains

AS THE SUN DEBUTED IN THE SKY SHE GAZED UPON THE MOUNTAIN AND LOOKED AT
THE BIRDS FLY.

IT WAS A CLEAR CRISP MORNING TO SAY THE LEAST SHE WAS NOT UPTIGHT OR
OFFBEAT.

SHE KNEW THIS DAY WAS GOING TO MAKE HER COMPLETE SHE SHINED UPON THE
MOUNTAINS JUST TO SAY HELLO.

JUST TO SHINE AND GIVE THAT BEAUTIFUL GLOW THE MOUNTAIN STOOD TALL AND
FIRM.

HE DIDN'T MOVE OR SQUIRM HE WAS BIG AND WIDE EVEN IF HE WANTED TO HE
COULDN'T HIDE.

THERE IS SO MUCH IN THE AIR BREEZING AMONG THE FLOWERS AND TREES WITH
SUCH A PLEASANT BREEZE.

THE MOUNTAINS CONTINUE TO SHINE AMONG THE SUN INTERACTING WITH GLOW.

WATCHING AS THE RIVERS FLOW THE SHOWERS TOOK OVER THE SKY AS THE SUN
TRIED NOT TO CRY.

THE EAGLES SPREADED THEIR WINGS SO THEY COULD FLY TO A PLACE OF
PROTECTION.

THE DAY DEPARTED ALONG WITH THE SUN WHEN THE NIGHT WAS ABOUT TO BEGUN.

THE MOONLIGHT INTERACTED WITH THE STARS SPEAKING TO THE MOUNTAIN'S
BEAUTY.

TO SPREAD AMONG THE FOREST, THE JUNGLE AND WINTRY SCENES

THE BEAUTY OF NATURE WITHIN ALL ITS MEANS

Prayer For Earth

PRAYER FOR EARTH

From this alien scape
I watch all happen, I was there from the seed age
I saw darkness clouds the world
Through it, wax sticks cries to shine
Struggles to illuminate path of humanity
We are the ones, fortunate souls
So day by day lets continue our sacrifice
For this earth bears witness
To account every bit owed it
Tomorrow by dusk
When the rain is over, when the sun stops shinning
Bringing about our reign
Of us humans with passion
For mothers earthly progress
Let our wax cries to give a shine.

Falling Forward

F for the night has a thousand eyes
A and the sun has been swallowed by the universe
L like a tethered thing, the day reverses
L let us not to ask the reasons why
I in our feathered sleep, just let us say goodbye
N now is the time when dark submerges
G gentle sleeping songs, and whispering verses
F falling forward, we can hear as the evening sighs
O over the earth, and over the moon
R reaching up to follow the stars
W watch as the day sweeps into the stream
A and angels guide it, and the crickets croon
R rest your eyes, and we will drift so far…
D dream, tonight of tomorrow’s schemes…

Picnic With My Sweet

We wake up to a lovely day
with lots of sun to lead the way.

Down to a babbling brook we go
while tree branches swing to and fro.

And we have found the perfect spot
to be alone and kiss a lot!

A checkered napkin covers up
this feast on which we soon will sup.

All sorts of good food did I bring
to feed my lover and my king!

There's fried chicken, fresh fruit and cheese
with lots of goodies made to please.

We have a bottle of sweet wine
to sip on as we sit and dine.

The birds are singing in the sky;
they're serenading he and I.

There's so much beauty in this place
and love light shining on his face.

A perfect day starts to wind down
as we pack up and head to town.

The memory of this day will last
long after summertime has passed.

Day Light Savings

the light from a new day
pours down from heaven
showing us a new way
to make it thru the seven
as deadly as they can be
their downfall illuminated
so every new day to me
should be appreciated

Premium Member Rain

Rain, Rain, and rain some more…
What I wouldn’t give for a little sunshine.
I would give anything to bask again in the light so sublime.

Looking into my crystal ball… you can guess just what I see.
It’s only an empty crystal ball… empty as the day to me.
We keep sloshing through this water…each day after day.

But some day soon the sun will shine…
And heaven will open its door… I pray.
Then a little bit of radiance… will maybe stream our way.

The rain won’t last forever, though for 40 days it did once come.
The climate is changing everywhere…
Maybe a rain forest our land will soon become.

But we are so resilient… that we’ll adapt in the end.
Until that time please come back…
Sunshine my beloved friend.

Premium Member Contingency of New Day

Dawn a new day is breaking
Open my eyes to the beauty
As the Roosters, Cardinals, and Doves eyes open
Tiny crescent moon relishing in its appearing

Birds sweep across the pale-blue morning sky
To the beat of coo-coo-coo
As the Doves communicate to their love

Striated clouds greet the sun
Sun takes the gray away so there is apricot on the horizon
Gold to decorate the way
Clean slate_new dawn great start for this unique day

Fresh air refreshes lungs
Adds glow to all creatures
Gives life as sun clears the stale dark
Opens doors to opportunities for renewal_forgiveness

The sun rises golden
As if it is the gold of royalty
Without its daily visit all of earth would decease
Become an entirely different sphere

What contingency does the dawn of new day bring to you
Open your eyes to the venture

Sunrise

Sunrise, a painting becoming
 visible, on the horizon.

Up it goes each morn,
Till the dew disappears.

The sun has risen high in the sky,
Like a beacon of light.

The warmth of the day is here
to delight.

Till nightfall descends,

The end of the day paints
the western sky.

And twilight vanished into night.

Sunlight

The earth it brings to light,
As the dawn breaks from night.

We bathe in the warmth of its glow,
During cold winds it can still melt the snow.

It warms the waters so fish can swim free,
But you, might burn to a crisp out on the sea.

Enough of it brings life to vegetation,
Too much will make deserts with little saturation.

We steal from it to make energy,
It is one thing in life that is free.

With it you can play in water or on sand,
Or enjoy a day on a mountain with snow in your hand.

Whatever you choose your day will be bright,
When you see our dear friend the Sunlight.

Beauty Calls

Beauty Calls

Soaring on the melody of a meadow lark
Bathing in a whippoorwills love sonnet
Slumbering to the soothing coo of doves
Under my nightlight made from the stars

Cool is the night, safe is my bed
In the hands of the old oak, I rest
All of the night sleeps in silence
A voice in itself that is loud

Dawn will lift her countenance
A peek, a look then a smile
Warming our day with a new hope
And a dewy kiss of revival

Ribbons of color inhabit our vision
Saplings begin to stretch in growth
Caretakers rise early to till and water
Blooms bare their full faces toward the sun

Sadly too many miss this miracle
Caught up in life’s daily grind
Take but a moment, watch a day birth
Know that it breaks anew just for you

Premium Member Scarlet Arrival

a scarlet sunrise
transforms day to paradise...
earth sighs with glad eyes

sun sings morning songs
the early shadows stretch long...
crickets hum along

warmed magic appears
morning whispers in earth’s ear...
a new day is here!

Another Day, Another Night

How the hills have changed their faces
Since I saw them at the dawn,
When the sky was pale and empty
And the day was not yet born.

Now the night has called his children,
Moon and Stars, come crowned to reign,
And the dusk has brought the darkness
And the darkness brings the rain.

Though my view has slowly vanished
Like the faces in a dream,
And the brink of the horizon
Bears the last of daylight’s gleam.

Every day has its own glory
Every sunrise has its set,
So I watch the fading mountains
With no feeling of regret.

In the dark I hear the fingers
Of the rain against the glass,
As she leave her water touches
On window panes and grass.

How the wind now lifts her gently
With its wings of sea-born air,
In its feathers lies the moonlight
Sifting softly through her hair.

She will kiss the pink storm-lily
with the gift of silver dew,
And the face of every mountain
In the morning will be new.

Premium Member A New Day Begins

soft pink on grey sky
   sunrise begins with colour
      ...the birds awaken

Bird song greets the dawn
   bringing the morning alive
      ... a new day begins

the day brings sunshine
    warming the once frozen earth
... spring sounds fill the air

the air fresh and brisk
  winter's bite now forgotten
... the sun shares her warmth
