Two Fold

If miracles were made in the Sun
I would come and see you before the day is done
I would whisper good news in your ears
And touch the passion that has been sleeping for years
And drive out the monstrous fear
Wake up to the peace around you
for summer is smiling within you
Go shopping for your summer wear
And live the life that you always fear
Go partying on the beach, and bring
The carnival back on the street
And wear something nice above your knee
For you are going to make noise in
The street for the entire day
 until the stress goes away
You will carnival in state, city, village and municipality
Until you drive the demons out of the town
Give everyone an hand Kerchief to wave and make some
Noise in the place; eat drink and be merry
According to the biblical prophecy
, you can hold the world in the palm of your hand
And the heavens will make you strong
Nature will tell you what to do for life is bigger than you
Sound the alarm in every town and dance till the mountains
Come down, and when your hearts are free you
You will slip away from the crowd and walk
With me in silence by the sea ,and gaze at your destiny.

I am wiser without a doubt,
I am present without resentment,
I am fearless, brave and powerful
I am free.

Croydon Part Deux

hoardings of shops on the isle of ridiculousness
the feral pigeons pontificate
the leaking roof of the civic theatre stays
you've seen better days
you've blundered into desperation
bankrupted twice
and now you're turning the middle
of town into millionaires row
ill afforded by the minions
even our local Market is shrinking
an ebb tide of the municipality
Westfield as vexing as a fox in chase
The Central library feels lobotomised
is it part privatised?

Premium Member Springtime Weeds

Growing weeds are any gardener's abomination.
My lawn mower appears to want to stay in hibernation.
I can't seem to get the old motor to run.
This is frustrating, and making me come undone.
The municipality says the grass is too high today.
They threaten to send a summons and fine my way.

I want to exterminate all the dandelions and chickweed.
Crabgrass and wild onions are also things I don't need.
There are other undesirable things on the lawn like clover.
They have proliferated themselves just about all over.
What I want is a nice thick green lawn.
When that is accomplished, my life can go on.

The Talkative Weaverbird

Here in the beautiful Tororo Rock*
I grabbed talkative weaver bird,
That disturbs me every morning.
Before I wake up she sits up to sing;
Before I go to bed she comes up to sing;
But I let it go escort free in her freedom.
What better thing can I do to it?
Than grant her liberty to sing in freedom,
And carry her life around the rock

*Tororo Rock is a beautiful volcanic plug in Tororo Municipality in Eastern Uganda

The Town of Can'T

This town is filled with reasons, reasons why you can’t.
You’re in contempt to protest; so you better save your rant.
If you are creative, your art must be approved,
If it’s deemed offensive, it will be removed.
You can’t have too much fun, it’s a liability,
All enjoyment must be ordained by your municipality.
You can’t start a business until you pay the fees,
Proceed to the cashier, have your money ready please
You can’t hammer a nail; you must be up to code
Enforcement will come knocking, for improving your abode
You can’t do it yourself; you must be licensed by the state
Any change you want to make, they will regulate.
You can’t have a party; it might get out of hand,
Only sanctioned celebrations, strip-searched for contraband.
Each of your essential needs, all require cash,
Our humanity is hidden, beneath a red circle and a slash.
It’s a waste of time to hang around and stick it to the man,
I’m leaving this local of “can’t” for a place that says I can.

Kwanza River

(Homage to the Kwanza River
" Water mother " of Angola)

Largest and only Angolan
Art thou, O majestic Kwanza!

In the central highlands
We see thee rise in Mumbué
And 960 kilometers of undoubted majesty
To the north and west
Since the municipality of Chitembo, in Bié
Stretch out on the big curve design
Before the hug, so sweet, so strong
You give to the salt of the Atlantic

Largest and only Angolan
Art thou, O majestic kwanza!

With an enviable basin
For two hundred and fifty
Kilometers, you are navigable
From the mouth to the Dondo
Where the dams of Cambambe and Capanda
Render yourself patriotic reverence
By the megawatts of power

Largest and only Angolan
Art thou, O majestic Kwanza!

As well as to the national currency unit
In the two provinces, thy name this also:
At its northern margin, Kwanza Norte
And Kwanza Sul, on the opposite bank, equally
They pay more than deserved tribute

Windy Narrow Roads

Windy Narrow Roads

Today while walking down the street
Wondered whom I might meet
These roads out here are quite windy and narrow
Will I accidentally meet up with Jack Sparrow?
Today while walking down our windy narrow street
Almost feel over when I met up with an athlete.

On these narrow windy roads
There have been many, many unknown episodes
Which many vehicles have met up with utter travesty?
But none can compare in many instances in reality
Today while walking down the street
Wondered whom might I eventually will meet
These roads out here are quite windy and narrow.

Will I accidentally meet up with Jack Sparrow?
Incidentally, there have been many, many near misses
Why can’t the municipality widen some of these windy narrow roads?
So there won’t be any more near deaths and injured among young lasses.

It is a large Michigan city in the Midwest.
For years, it has stood out among the best.
It has been a busy hub of metropolitan activity.
This is the center of the domestic automobile industry.

Local sports fans have been happy as a lark
with new places like Ford Field and Comerica Park.
However, things have not been going so smoothly.
There have been recent dark days in this municipality.
The City of Detroit has filed for bankruptcy.

They cannot meet obligations when they come due.
This is leaving bondholders and creditors blue.
How are city officials going to pull the entity through?
Reduce spending and raise taxes. What else can they do?

Premium Member San Diego

It is the third largest city in California.
It lies just north of the border from Tijuana.
This is a nice big town where many a tourist stays.
The municipality is home to the Chargers and Padres.
The weather is warm and sunny, and hardly every raining.
It is where the U.S. Marines take their boot camp training.
This place has been around since the Conquistador.
It has much to see and experience, and more.
The California city is a place I am sure you know.
It is none other than the City of San Diego.

Cleavage Among Man

Sometimes a man
            Can be
Clinging and Sergey
       To the end
But in the bud
 Of leadership
His vehement could be
          Recompensible
Fore his love
         And guide Nance
Can be municipality
 Correct unto the end
