Benediction To My Father, and Apology For Disallowing

A hint of helping this wholesome Harris son
can across thru the air
Hence this poetic expression
of gratitude Matthew Scott wants to blare
And communicate my genuine
appreciation crystal clear
Toward one whose existence
more valuable to me and dear

As thee doth become older
with natural diminishment with eyes and ear
But lo…tis unproductive to fear
The diminishing sands
of mortal time as cognitive gear
Doth get clogged as well as one
or the other organ allowing ye to hear

The sound of silence echoing
memories of the past – now a blur
Akin to a warm fuzzy feeling
soft as moss or lichen – precious as a coat of fur
Which tomorrows speed faster
becoming yesterday’s lore

Mixed with trials and tribulations less or more
Thickening as starch and ever more difficult to pour
From the egged on noggin blended
into one glob kept in secret store
Perhaps comprising partially healed wounds

at your heart tore
As if a drafted soldier once
in tiptop shape now to the bone years wore
Away whet dreams housed
within myths indistinguishable from truths of yore

Though I too sometimes fret
as tempus fugit slinks away
Where methinks how the years spin
at a quicker pace each day
Inculcating me to savor each moment,
whether weather sunny or gray
Taking stock of self of natural world

as one named John Jay
Audubon, who captured pristine lands
of America as a frieze zing May
Whereby bounteous creatures
large and small at play
Until…the inundation
of settlers did slash, burn and slay

Indiscriminately - setting precedent
for Earth in a precarious balance oye vay
Whence Mother Nature
will win this global Olympic match – yet

By which time, both thyself
and ye will be long turned to ash
Descendants will be dust off
faded photos of me self
before senescence did dash
Totally unaware that me papa Boyce Brandon
with clenched and teeth did gnash

When I fought tooth and nail
and without a word did lash
Back as protestations against behavior
of mine ye disliked and found rash
With frustration spilling forth
like acidic froth that did splash
Slash and burn within,
yet kept mum no matter
from within did thrash.

I LOVE YOU TOO DAD
NO MATTER BACK IN THE DAY YE GOT MAD
YET NOW, AS A FATHER TWAS FRUSTRATION
PERHAPS FUSED WITH BEING SAD
AT MY LIFE & HARD TIMES WHEREIN
TURMOIL ROILED MORE THAN A TAD!

Two Lovers Iv - a Wedding

"I'm gonna marry you someday"
Her Lover jokes with her
They drive in her fancy car, she's
Amused by tipsy words

"Don't be silly, my young drunk friend"
She shoots back while he grins
"Just watch, Sweetie. Just watch...someday"
He says, chuck'ling again

He says earnestly, "You know that
Big wedding feast was neat.
I have never seen one like that.
Thank you for bringing me"

They stop at a red light. She smiles
Softly at her young beau
Proud to bring him to her culture
To let him get to know

She reaches out and holds his hand
He brings hers to his lips
His eyes a little glassy from
Refreshments he had sipped

"I'll tell you what! That shot your mom
Gave me was pretty strong
It tasted just like licorice
I think I'll feel it long"

She laughs, "Yeah be careful with that
'Twill knock you on your @ss"
The red light changes back to green
She stomps hard on the gas

"Damn, Girl, don't go and kill us now
I am too young to die"
She gives him her best tough-girl smirk
And the side of shining eyes

They talk and laugh on the way back
To her old childhood home
Reliving the festivities
While warnth of Lovers grows

The dancing and the tip money
Flying all through the air
The little old man whose crying
Touched everyone there

The way all guests knew her Lover
As her "Irish" young man
The only blue-eyed guy in sight
They kept beers in his hand

The hospitable welcome
Was quite touching to him
But some of the young men in there
Tried to look right through him

She's a bit uncomfortable
When he jokes about that
While all were very welcoming
There was slight tension had

But she shrugs it out of her mind
When they get to her house
The Lover's a tad unsteady
As he tries to get out

Of the car in the large driveway
She goes to give a hand
It turns out it was just a trick
He pulls her down to land

In his lap in the car's seat and
Starts to give her kisses
Her heart's routine of losing the
Couple beats it misses

They respond to each other as
They always seem to do
"When they are asleep" she whispers,
"I'll come and ravish you"

His big smile of young eagerness
A kiss, another hug
And the adorable way she
Can make him look so smug

She pulls him out from the car as
More kisses invade her
She fends him off to go inside
She'll make them all up later...

Life Is Johnny Short

Life is too short
Life is too short, not to say love you
I’ve lived life beside you everyday
But I could never get enough of you
Life is short
So short
To stand by and hate your sister or brother
I don’t even get to see my brother anymore
So quit acting like calling your sibling is a daring chore
Life is too short
We need to learn to love one another just a tad bit more
I love Whitney and my dogs
Thats who I do it for
Life is too short
Johnny short
You’re down with me at my cake day party
Be down with me in court
Life is midget short
Too short
To live without a plan
Life is too short
You should know where you stand
My Life is too short to constantly live in fear
Life is too short to barely making it through the year
My Life is too short
Not to do something new
Life is too short not to say I love you

Wasting time
Shortens life
Spending time
Studying other people
One's you don't care about
Wondering could you be like them
Succumbing yourself to doubt
Doing things
You never wanted to
I’ve lived life beside you everyday
But I could never get enough of you
Telling yourself
What you cannot do
Telling lies to yourself
Then saying that you never knew
Life is too short not to say love you
Questioning Life
Rather than
Trying to find out the answer on your own
Scolding at yourself
With a constant pity tone
If it didn't make you happy
Then it wasn't worth your time
I could never get enough of you
I’ve screwed fate and denied hate
Learn to adore
Don't fear what's beyond the shore
Don't cry during the night
Do it in broad daylight
So that someone will see
How much you are suffering
It's okay to hurt
Because your feelings come first
Learn to accept care
Remember to love your own share
Life is too short not to say I love you
When I was 14 I learned to appreciate being 5’2
Had to find happiness in myself
Before I found you
Where they can find you
Is right next to me
All 2 quarters and 5’3 of me
I’m already short
So when it comes to money you can’t short me
Time is money and money is time
And I have to make enough of both for those after and before me
Tuesday morning detectives at my door
In an instant life can get gory
Call my mother and tell her I love her
I’m glad I’m free to tell you this story
Its hard out here a shorty
Life’s short shorty

If You Only Knew

when you lose sight of what really counts
its easy to focus on only whats shallow
am i too fat is my nose too big
do i walk or talk weird whats wrong with me
when we forget the depth that is here in this world
and focus on things that are just absurd
so maybe im not a supermodel and my bums a tad on the thick side
and maybe im no a genius thats getting a scholorship on my side
but does that mean im nothing that i dont count
this world is getting sickening count me OUT
im ashamed of myself for even thinking like this
and obsessing to tears over shallow petty ****
i am praying that god hears my pleas for help
because i cant conquer this all by myself
i used to not care didnt care at all
but like any other i rise and fall
i am of the opinion that your body is a shell
and youll leave it behind when you go to heaven or hell
it will rot in the ground and count for nothing
and when i meet my maker he wont care how big my bum is
some women ONLY care about their looks and they dont get it
they dont see the big picture
and i fear theyll regret it
and other women dont care even at all
about their looks because their depth is so massive and raw
but then theres me in the middle with so much depth and spirituality
why do i waste time wondering what are all the things wrong with me
im sick of crying over it ive done it for too long
im sick of getting angry when i cant crawl out of my bod
its a thought that i had reguarding a cacoon
like how catapielers go into them and out comes a butterfly zoom
if i could just crawl out my mouth my soul free for just a moment
and be allowed to have a different shell to live and own it
i wonder what its like to feel just for a second
not arrogance but a sweet compliment from someone who MEANT IT
my desperate pleas go out to you and anyone else who will listen
i hate my body im sick of my face and my voice is just ridiculous
so lets just drop it in the ocean let it sail away
cuz me im going to better places where i dont have to cry all day
where i know that my body is just a little shell a vehicle if you will
its our car or truck or limo or bus to use while we use our free will
and ive always said when you go you don't take your money your lambergini
or your watch expensive jewlery its all staying beind
and you should think about what YOUR world is while im trying desperatley to fix mine

Premium Member The Dagger of Life

Oh, this life has pierced my soul many times,
        thrust me into bottomless pits;
impaled and bleeding- this girl has plummeted down,
falling, tumbling, immersed 'til I am sinking.
      Life has thrown the dagger,
                                the plunge is deep.

Oh, death has left me so gutted and lost,
        I have wept forlorn and grieving;
have asked why, why has this destiny been written,
I want an eraser- I will change my own fate.
      Why life must you always,
                                eviscerate.

Oh, life sometimes you have sent me adrift,
        sent me on journey's misleading;
given me false, flawed and corrupt information,
erroneous- leaving me hallucinating.
      Life you have given facts
                               so fallacious.

Oh, life you have left me in a whirlwind,
        on swirling, twisting gauzy threads;
but instead of down I am spiraling on up,
there is this cyclone- in the mazes of my mind.
      I hold a tendril in,
                               a vortex twirl.

Oh, life amaze and show me the beauty,
        tease me with the puzzle of you;
rattle, ruffle, and entangle your mystery,
this girl- is ready to be bemused and bedazzled.
      Life I am awestruck,
                               bewilder me.

Oh, life I have this great thirsty yearning,
        do not torture and torment me;
for I want only to enchant you with my charm.
I forgive you for the bottomless pit journey.
Life I am in the mood,
                               to tantalize.

Oh, life you may find me an odd, weird girl,
         I like things just a tad bizarre;
yes I can be strange and a little eccentric,
for example- I like wearing old vintage clothes.
      Life I am questioning,
                               and curious.

Oh, life make me a sweet crimson flower,
        flame-colored deep in a garden;
dress me up in fury and flaming red petals,
I wish to be- a fallen lady just growing.
      Life make me a beauty,
                             dressed in scarlet.

Premium Member Dragons Wish

One night while stargazing, Dragon and I, got to see a falling star… descend.
I thought that would be great, so I told him he could make a wish on them…
But Dragon’s are really quite unique, and don’t always think, like you and me.
No, NOT at all! And you should believe, things began to unravel, immediately:

About to make that wish… He realized the moon descends every night.
And the sun descends, like the moon… every single day, at every Twilight.
Becoming horrified that so many wishes had gone by him, totally unused!
He decided to wish upon the star, that all past wishes, can now come, to be used.

There is logic here, I think, as Dragon hordes things; he’d do it with wishes, too.
When I tried to explain, that’s not how wishes work, they have to be rare and few.
With falling stars, it has to come from one, that came to ground, willing to share.
Now Dragon is a stubborn thing and decided, I wanted them all for myself, to snare.

He stomped his foot, as the 2 year old he is, crying he didn’t want to share not one.
So I patiently explained that there are bigger stars everywhere, bigger than our sun!
He was sure I’d done him wrong and had lied, after all, his eyes are very keen.
The bigger, the better, and our sun was the biggest thing, that he had ever seen!

It’s brightness has gobs of power, in fact, I’d said it powers all the Earth, he recalled.
So its wish couldn’t be small… he said it’s not nice, to not share, with him at all.
Now a tantrum was about to ensue, from our 2 year old who’d skipped his nap.
And don’t forget he’s a Dragon, too! It wasn’t a good idea to fall into this trap!

Some things are better to not go through. Why fight the battle, if you can stop the war?
In the end I took that wish… and wished I’d never took him on that wishful tour.
You know what? I did find that peace finally came back and did preside, in a wink.
As I got his blankie for his bed, and tucked him in so nice and neat, I paused to think.

Next year would be a better time, to view the meteor showers, after we both have…
A well-deserved nap. Don’t you think? When he’s a tad more grown up, I did add…
Besides my wishes, in the past, have served me well, as they brought him here to me.
And I ’d need one more wish this year, to help him when flying… to not hit the trees!

Your Favorite Mission

Blessings, my King, are you much happier lately, babe?
Until you tell me to fvck off - our love every day I will save

I don't fall in love easily - and I trust people even less
But there was something about you that I wanted to invest

So tell me, my love, are we much more serious this time around?
I genuinely believe you're the only King who is worthy of this crown

'Cause I know I that I need and just want you
No matter what happens - I will always speak the truth

I need to hold you all night - all night sometime soon
'Cause I wanna see just how you and I together bloom

I want to see our actions meet all of our words
'Cause I know - ultimately - we will become something superb

It breaks my heart in pieces to see you in your head and all alone
One day with you - I'm looking foward to making our home

Today you opened up a tad bit more
'Cause when you're around me - I feel my heart roar

I'm lost in Limbo when I'm not being held safe in your arms
'Cause whenever you touch me - I become your lucky charm

Deep in Nature - I wanna do something with you someday
Camping in the middle of the wilderness - all night we'll play

I sense sometimes that you can be extremely shy
The sexy, sensitive, hopeless-romantic type of guy

When I close my eyes - I envision myself in another place with you
Maybe another country - Philippines, Germany, Egypt, or Peru

Although I haven't quite figured out your number one passion
I wanna see us both in our element together - kissing and relaxin'

Although in its entirety - I haven't figured out what you like to do
I know that whatever memories we'll create will be naturally true

I trust my intuition as much as I trust in all of yours
I wanna hold you kissing you in the rain - while it thunderstorms

I felt your love and missingness when you held me close
Did you know in my life right now - you're the one I trust the most?

You're the only soul right now who knows this much about me
Because when I'm around you - butterflies flutter and I am free

At a campfire I want to hear stories of how you are who you are
Tell me the stories behind each of your gorgeous scars

I've always been here for you - talk to me - I will listen
'Cause I promise being with me will be by far your favorite mission

Premium Member Rapid Response Turtle Team

Rapid Response Turtle Team, R2T2, is their name, saving is their game!
They’re ‘Mary River Turtles’, headquartered in a submarine, but not tame.
Forever, on call: a better bunch of blokes, you've never met, is my take.
No one ever drowns, or leaves hurt, with them here, in this our Troll Lake.

They’re days are full, with Dragon, and the Troll Lake crowd, running a muck.
Imagine how, when Dragon barbecues, his fires get out of hand, yea, that sucks!
Fire hoses and extinguishers are these blokes’, most favorite playthings of all.
They even hand out towels, if you got wet, when the fires are put out, I recall.

Not to mention how great they are when Dragon begins to hiccup or sneeze.
Or when our penguins trip and fall, like little pinballs, yep, them, they retrieve.
But it’s always worth the trouble since; they’ve become family, true and tried!
They also teach safety and first aide classes, yes, they’re definitely, certified.

Apparently, we ALL are, here at Troll Lake, or so everyone seems to imply.
I think I know what they are getting at… And perhaps they are right! Sigh!
But the Rapid Response Turtle Team, are the best blokes, on this here earth!
As they command the hose, and it throws them all around, we fill with mirth!

It’s like riding a bucking bronco to them… but some how… the fires do go out!
They even have a medic mobile made from an old kids’ wagon, fully decked out.
Anyone, who can bring a submarine into our lake, sight unseen, can do ANYTHING!
It’s said: they’re agents sent, to protect Dragon, an endangered species. Honestly!

But, I think they’re here, to protect ‘US’ from Dragon’s, daily… dished out travails.
The Boo Boo’s he inflicts, are too numerous to count, between his fires and that tail.
They came to gain their muse, and be entertained by our daily, free for all, they say.
At night they’re guitars DO sing, merrily on, about all our crazy exploits, each day.

With pink tinted shells, and green algae Mohawks, they look like a true punk band.
And they say the submarine’s yellow, to honor some great and famous rock band.
Yes, they are a tad bit strange; but that just makes them fit in, on this, here land.
And we couldn't imagine life without them… They truly are… really, great lads!

There Is a Gravity To You

there is a gravity to you
whenever crossing the room
it is an existence that bends light
into an aura capturing my every breath
a plasma that penetrates every atom within
with memories of long ago
when you first walked into my life
from across the room
as you drew near me
my heart counted every step forward
lost in erratic rhythms as they lifted
and returned to Earth
in that face a beauty
causing a full moon to glance
and pause in envy
lips possessing a kittenish smile
driven like a bee to pollen
a promise of being crushed by roses
born from Athenia's brood
and in your eyes a dominion
from which i would be forever held
in John Donne's Ecstasy
these passing years
i still tug on the pigtails
to remind the playground
how much i adore you
just an average man
who stumbled into the arms
of the above average
and careened into eternity

now there will be those of you
quickly to point out
surely there are far too many flowers
packed lovingly in this bouquet
i said average, not stoopid
you take the bolt of cloth down
measure three to four-times
twice and cut is for mechanical thinkers
love has never been a well-oiled machine
a bit more for unexpected contingencies
roll the bolt of cloth more than a tad
in life, one never knows
the lady may have just discovered
she now adores puffed sleeves
i said average, not stoopid
and the lesson i learned from Mr. Darcy
when you open your mouth
let the brain stay idle in speech
and let your heart sing
to the soul, she has in her eyes
therein the permission you seek nests
only the heart can free those wings
and there are never too many flowers
in a bouquet, or a tad more of cloth
be prepared the scouts' teaching
fashion with women are like the seasons
guaranteed to change
did not John Donne ask his love
not to stare into the sun
lest she blinds it
above average, also, not stoopid

OKC 2/14/22

“Doubt thou the stars are fire;
Doubt that the sun doth move;
Doubt truth to be a liar;
But never doubt I love .” William Shakespeare, Hamlet

"But love me for love's sake, that evermore
Thou mayst love on, through love's eternity."
Sonnet 14 If Thou Must Love Me
Elizabeth Barrett Browning

Above It All

Wish I could completely forgive you...
Substantially forgive you...
Simply forget everything and start anew
Wish I had more chances to show you my worth
Give me more chances to apologize
I want to live merrily with mirth
With you around me at all times

It's like you won't listen to me anymore
It murders me softly to the fallen core
I want these shattered, scattered memories
Together again...then again,
You left me with shards of naught
I gave our love a boost of my beloved shot

I wander in the woods of wretched, wrecked-up rage
You'll understood where I stood soon enough, babe

I ponder time after time in utter dread, in utter dread
There are solemn, sacred sanctuaries in my forever-lost head

Actually, you set me free from my horrid bondage
I've been told that you grew way too smart and bold
You are but debris and dust from above the bridge
You put my many messages on hold and forgot about them all...
I can't just forgive you right away

Wish I was gone away sometimes
Wish you'd weep me a dazillion dimes

You totally, wholeheartedly and cruelly
Broke apart my heart oh so extravagantly
Sorrow is so scrumptious, yet decreases my appetite for positivity
It was all my fault - yes, you bet believe it...
For following my faithless, hopeless occult

I'm like the headless horsemen without his rapid, abyssal horse
You had me trampled down and burned away my freedom flight with your gravity-like envy...
Everything went out of course...
Of course

Once and for all,
I will rise above it all
I will walk hope's helpful hall
I shall be wise in His eyes
I ought to seek the truth instead of embracing lies
I remember those times when you left without any goodbyes
It wasn't too long ago
And it really hurts me so

Below,
I fall
Below,
I call
Can you hear me?
Can you heal me?
Why do I want you so much?
Why do I crave your touch?
I am fragile, yet fearless
You left my heart
On your windowsill
Like rotting roses in the heat of distress

Raise me up,
Childlike happiness from afar
I will smile and graze a million miles in your maze
I rode my bike a tad too far
I will find my way home - I have my clever ways
