in what I believe
in the poetry I conceive
of life
of love
an mother earth
of marriage
my wife
a rebirth
soul mates
a roll in the sheets
European outings
our little trips
of friends
family
good wine
sunny days bar b ques
rainbows
summer showers
sleeping in late
with my soul mate
note’s with kisses on it
long conversations in bed
the wind on a cold winter day
morning coffee
the smell of your perfume
after you leave
and this is what I believe
Just sitting, I'm knitting, dreaming as fan blades idle
slowly with an incoming wind. The hands circle the clock
marking the passage of time into soundless history.
It is late, almost eight, a nurse appears at the door -
"Time to leave pretty soon." My hands cradle his face
as I kiss the salty brow of his altered memory.
Tears flowing, I'm going; our eyes meet and we soul mates
sing a hymn together. The dream is understood
by musician and poet. Rhythm has struck the right keys.
What's more, in close rapport, his lips form - a mute "Bye, Bye."
With a rare smile, he leaves me. I watch the fan blades reverse.
My prayers answered - escorted by a faint, outgoing breeze.
Monthly Pop Ins
Tear off the almost healed scabs
Cutting new wounds
Deep into my being
Does love need to hurt
Has distance helped
You tell me no
Inadequate
Unnecessary
Unfullfilled
All words used to describe your situation
He came with bells and whistles
I came with only love
A love of who you are
Not who you might become
He came with visions of grandeur
I came with a job that would never have made us rich
Poor and Happy
Better than a life filled with things
Occupy your time
To quiet the things in your head
Think of me so often
I'm like your make-believe friend
I'm flesh and bone
Beating heart
Soul
You'll wake up
and be 50 years old
wondering where all your time went
You filled it with trivialities
Trying to forget
But your deepest parts will not let you forget
They bellow out
To feel as we once did
I have grown calloused to the pain of these scars
If I knew then what I now know
Would I change my future
NO
I would love you just as hard
For as long as you'd let me
We've agreed we are soul-mates
That was true
Can you say you've really lived
If you die without scars

Jacaranda Moon
He had always been a wannabe hippie at heart
been crushed though by reason and unsolicited
fear while booze was no misguided answer no more
In defeat shattered retreat advance rehabilitation
Kai succumbed to steps into an unknown world
After praying to the Sun God of yogic proportions
the word love flowed out scripted in Jacaranda
petals in soil underneath the tree of life and a poet
tree in motion of change and growth they flowered yet
unknown and unfolded from scraps of bark and design
‘This is so funny’ a fellow struggler pointed out and in
‘there was a woman here some weeks ago’ a beautiful soul
who spelt the word love on the grass in same purple petals
One day adrift she appeared in now famous blue dress
and like an arrow and bee to the honey he
approached the stranger whom he must have known in
some previous life ‘You must be Tai and we have
something in common’ out of the very same blue which
adorned her beautiful body and beautiful mind
Against all odds they made even and love in heartfelt sense
and all senses drawn painted and joined on the hips ever since
‘If I could I would fetch you the moon on a spoon’ and spoons
scoop moons in the Universe which has become the
greatest gift ever bestowed for soul mates and lovers in hottest
pursuit of Sun Goddess showering violet dreams from above
In a flash in skin on skin and memories shared they
eloped together guided by the moon and its many meanings
Tai and Kai are flying 'Taikaiwe' together to the stars and beyond
on height and highs of love ‘Taibelle Mountain’
pushing and pulling rising and shining in serenity and passion
One day a couple of petals a present out of absolute nowhere
recast and transformed life’s story retold and reformed
shines lavender lilac union unimagined but real

Throughout history, we are lovers
Throughout history, we are soul mates
We are Romeo and Juliet
We are Anthony and Cleopatra
We are Lancelot and Guinevere
We are Tristan and Isolde
Scarlett O' Hara and Rhett
Elizabeth Barrett and Robert
Pocahontas and John
Jayne Eyre and Rochester...
Blended inside one another
Melted inside one another
Two hearts are one
Two souls are one
Throughout the ages
Throughout eternity
Forever was
Forever shall be...
You and I
The sweetest symphony,
and if there were to be
another life
than the one that we now live,
I know your soul would find mine
We would be
the next world renowned lovers,
our names immortalized
in the books that will be written,
for a love like ours,
this passion we share,
defies the boundaries of time
It's a living entity
infused with heaven's light
and its longevity
You and I
We lived; we live; we will live,
for we are the embodiment of love
We ARE love
Personified
You and I
Love's sweetest refrain
Yesterday, now, and forever
YOU and I

* A fictitious write
Harmonious is not a horrid homogenized concoction,
pulsed and blitzed in a blender mixer,
until the notes and flavors meld and gel set.
Instead it is a polyphonic pitch ensemble,
a juxtaposition of notes in counterpoint.
Chords, sounds, glissando's and voices
all intermingle as individuals,
balancing consonance and dissonance
in harmony.
When your world goes way out of tune,
discordant in cacophony,
clanging with noisy chaotic strife!
Get your harpsichord re-tuned afresh,
to sound notes of love, true blue, not bluesy bent.
Then your soul can be harmonious again
in rhythmic syncopating jam sessions,
adlibbing with your soul mates,
in a potpourri of flavors, savored
harmonious.
In the whirlwind of the mountain air I knew
My life would find fulfillment spent with you.
I sensed a sure conviction on my life
That it would bloom if you would be my wife.
We rode through cobbled streets and by a stream,
We sat beside the water's edge and lived a fabled dream.
My heart was filled with you and bore a song
That carried love's enchantment all day long.
It has ever changed the way I look at Vail.
Beyond the splendorous views and each detail,
It gave me grander views and heights of love
That I felt and feel so quite unworthy of.
If you would marry me, the view would change.
Instead of feeling small beside this mountain range,
Our lives would soar and mingle with the galaxies
And I would sing in love's uplifting majesty.
God gave to me a gift that day in Vail.
He spoke into my heart a blessed tale
That you and I would marry and abide
Together where two soul mates ever hide.
Nature's beauty far exceeds the camera lens
And love extends where nature's beauty ends.
I found that day the blessed Savior's will,
To marry you and be forever filled.
THE TWO UNLIKE-POLE ANALOGY
Analogically, this simplicity of poles might communicates
extensive comparison of things life usually complicate.
Just as the tale of "magno magnets",
Like-poles repulsively repels even off a border
and unlike-poles abnormally attract one another.
The north pole of two magnets are set asunder;
Opposite poles of two magnets attract each other,
but the like-poles are overly at loggerheads,
Similitude to electric charges which postulate same rules:
Like-charges repel, and unlike-charges attract.
This theory sums up the summary of a proven fact.
The irony of life is, two different souls are match-made,
We're bedazzled with such common rarity that doesn't fade.
It's sporadic to have two people with same traits
or cosmic (birthday) twins becoming soul mates.
By taking a leaf out of the analogy of unlike-poles,
attraction is established and so is unlike souls.

Looking back over those years
when there was no money,
no place to call home, ever on the move struggling to survive,
would you do it all over again, would you still love me?
So much indecision, so many fears and doubts
questioning who we were, wondering, should we go it together
where was life taking us on this journey,
should you, could you, would you still love me?
What did we know, did we have a clue
when the path took us along these steps
two hearts, forever bound in unison, soul mates,
do you see it as I do, the years now gone, would you still love me?
There's no going back now, only memory remains,
it's all been done without any chance of do-overs,
you and me, me and you, fifty-three years shared
tell me true, would you still love me as deep as I still love you?
